L'Oréal Paris Sugar Scrubs Nourishing Face Scrub Review

I've used this for a week every other day, at the beginning I loved it but few uses it I noticed my skin got abit "raw" perhaps I over used it so have now taken a break. I love it for a lip scrub, I actually use it daily as a lip scrub at the end of the night before brushing my teeth, my lips have never been better. On the night I used the scrub as a face exfoliate I took my makeup off as usual, pat it dry and put a few pea size blobs on my face, rub it in and add abit of water and carry on exfoliating, it left a nice moisture layer on my skin. The scent is delicious and can definitely smell the cacao in there. The packaging is on point and the glass L'Oréal jar makes it super classy and elegant on the bathroom shelf, away from my 19 month old daughter. Over all the product is wonderful and worth the price, a little bit goes a long way and you get good use out of one jar.

So like most cocoa butter products this smells Devine, almost good enough to eat... but please don't it really does not taste nice. The sugar scrub comes in a nice gold box which is about twice the size of the product within, a dark glass jar with gold lid is nicely presented. To use rub a small amount on clean dry skin then massage in with warm water until disloved then rinse well. When going on dry it is quite scratchy but feels great once wet, if you don't rinse well it will leave your face feeling sticky from the sugars. I found after using this scrub 6 times my skin looks much brighter and feels smoother over all, I have been using every second day (and once two days in a row which I don't recommend as it was still tender from the day before), I then rinse off in the shower and apply a light moisturizer after use. I like doing my lips most as it reminds me of doing baby oil and blistex treatments when I was very young and gets rid of any crusty dry skin from your lips to make them look nice again. I also used on my chest neck area as I have dry skin from summer and this made it a lot clearer. Good value for money and if used a directed a jar would last around a month to 6 weeks so not too pricey. I will be adding this to my weekly beauty routine.

As suggested in the name the L'Oreal Paris Sugar Scrub promises 'nourishing and smoothing' of skin. Initially skeptical of the claim that a sugar scrub could be nourishing I tried - as directed the scrub and was pleasantly surprised. Although this scrub wasn't a 'holy grail' it was certainly a change from the normal sugars/clays which exfoliate coarsely to achieve smooth skin. Rather, the L'Oreal Sugar scrub melts the three types of sugars when mixed with warm water. I definitely noticed a 'nourished' softness in my skin after use because I have dry skin I didn't think an exfoliant type scrub would achieve such results but it did! If you have dry skin and are looking for something that doesn't strip your already dry skin of natural oils but actually nourishes it and smooths it out a bit definitely give this a go.

such a lovely product, exfoliated my skin well without causing redness or hurting. loved the packaging and has a lovely scent to it. made putting on makeup a lot easier and I often used this before applying it as it made everything go on smoother and made my foundation look nicer! highly recommend, also doubles as a lip scrub! will continue to use and will certainly be a repeat purchase.

I really enjoyed trialing this product and am planning on repurchasing when it runs out. The packaging is quite plain but very functional. The top screws off easily to reveal the product.

It is quite thick with the consistency of thick, moist brown sugar and smells like it too. The product goes onto the face easily and dissolves quickly with some warm water. Due to being a sugar scrub, it exfoliates the face well without any harsh scratching. Afterwards I feel that my skin is a lot smoother, softer and in a much better condition. I also use this on my lips and feel like they are a lot softer and in better condition as well.

Overall, I think this is well worth the price and will be repurchasing.

The container is compact so makes it easy to store a long side my face creams. On first impressions it looks like a clay mask rather than an exfoliator. I have keratosis pillaris (chicken skin like bumps on my cheeks) this means my skin cells turnover quicker then they slough off. So exfoliating is a must. I took a small amount and applied it to cleansed, dry skin. On my fingers it didn’t feel like it would have much exfoliating power, but I was so wrong. I started on my cheeks and was surprised at how rough it felt. I added a little warm water and gently rubbed in circular motions and the sugar dissolved and left my face moisturised and so smooth and soft! First smell from the jar and it smells a little like chocolate but once you start using it, it smells like liquorice on your face. If you can handle that smell I would highly recommend trying it. I’ve been using it for a week, the instructions said use 3 times a week but I’ve used in every day on my cheeks but left it to twice for the rest of my face. I have dry skin and this feels so moisturising.

Firstly I would Love to pin point how amazing this product is to use. It is so versitile to use and easy to follow instructions. I have never heard of a sugar scrub before so I was very much interested in getting stuck into trialling this product. My skin is drys out with most scrubs so I'm very particular when it comes to using certain brands. I absolutely love the cocoa buttery scent and think that the texture is so easy to apply. I used this 3x in one week and was amazed with the results. My skin looked healthier with a beautiful tan glow and purely natural. I will definitely keep my eye on this product as a must have

The jar is very simple looking, there's not much to say there. The product looks like chocolate mousse and smells delicious. Mmmmm!

Also the lid is secure enough for you to store the jar in your shower without worry that water will leak inside. Since the product doubles as a lip scrub that's one less item you have to store, space efficient!

My skin type is dry, and this product left my skin feeling more soft, nourished and moisturized than it has ever felt. I have to actively stop myself from touching my face just to feel how great it is.

When I run out of this jar I will certainly buy another, I have finally found "my" scrub that works perfect for me.

Thanks to BR yet again for putting me on such an exciting trial! When BR first put up a post about these scrubs my initial thought was OMG I NEED THOSE!! Of course I've heard (but not used) of sugar scrubs for your body but not before for your face. And being L'Oreal it was kind of a big deal.

The product comes in a heavy duty glass jar with a secure tight screw on lid - anything that comes in a glass jar gets my tick of approval. The product is light brown which reminds me of a mixture of chocolate ice-cream and chocolate mousse. It feels fluffy with a bit of texture to the touch. However once on your face I ultimately know my face is getting the exfoliation fix I need. It feels great on my skin, as I said I get a good scrub, and at the same time the product moisturises my skin and leaves it feeling so soft. I wouldn't say the scent is to die for but it certainly smells great.

The packaging states the product is suitable for your face and lips but I kinda went overboard and tried it on my hands, knees and elbows and it worked a treat.

Would I buy it? Heck yes! My dry skin loves this sugar scrub!

L’Oreal Paris Nourishing Sugar Scrub is thick and creamy in texture, with 3 sugars which are described as “fine” but I found to be hardy enough to get to work on my very dry, flaky and sensitive skin. To apply you simply scoop it out of the pretty, simple jar, and gently apply to clean, dry skin as you would with any other scrub - one concern with this is the hygiene factor, but if your hands are clean and dry before application, this should be *too* much of an issue! Then add a little warm water to melt the sugars before rinsing off.

It is lightly frangranced (I personally felt it smelled a little like cheapish Shea Butter); but the smell doesn’t linger for long.

It comes in quite a small jar, and I felt as though it wouldn’t last awfully long given the amount you need to apply to get a good coverage of product, however it left my skin feeling so smooth, buffed away all flakiness and didn’t irritate my skin at all that I would definitely purchase this again.

What I truly loved about this product is that it wasn’t super harsh but the sugars weren’t so fine that they didn’t actually do anything. After two weeks of using the product, my skin is smooth and dewy and feels super hydrated - I just wish they’d make a bigger size!
