Nice texture.

I was super excited when I learnt about this product. I love Trilogy and this cleansing balm seemed like the next logical step for them to add to their collection. Comes in a pot and is a similar texture to their Everything Balm. Awesome ingredients and a divine smell. This product cleans really well but I still have to double cleanse. I prefer to use it on the weekend when I don't wear make up. Super easy to use and leaves my sensitive skin feeling clean and soft. No tightness that you can get from other cleansers. And...I don't need to use a moisturiser after. Although to be honest I'm not sure that anything would be absorbed as a very thin film seems to stay on my skin. Kind of like when you have massaged your skin with oil. I would recommend this to people who don't need to moisturise at night and for people with sensitive skin.

Nice and natural

Packaging is nice looks pretty while sounding natural, cleansing and skin softening. This cleanser comes with an organic cloth, looks a little budget.a plastic jar with a screw top lid inside is a heavy looking wax ever so lightly a coconut/rose fragrance hits me,with a back note of oil.

I scoop out 1/4 of a teaspoon, way to much, then I slowly massage this into my skin, this melts in quite nicely I go over my face eyelashes everything. I rinse the cloth then wipe it over my greasy skin. With blurry eyes I can see the cloth is loaded with makeup. So this natural cleanser removed my full face of makeup, impressive. However I'm left feel a little blurry as I think it gets into my eyes I also feel like I'm left with bit of a greasy film on my skin.

So cleansed with vision returned, a really good rinse and I mean a good rinse to remove any residue off this cleanser and I'm left with soft skin that's clean. I feel like I have to put a lot of effort into this to remove all.

Leaves your skin super clean

I am a long time fan of oil cleansers, but was super intrigued about the concept of this. I apply a small lump of this to my face and massage it in and it really does remove stubborn face and eye makeup. I did find that you feel like you are somewhat tugging at your face as you are massaging the product in because it is not as 'wet' as a traditional oil cleanser. Because of this I prefer to apply a warm wet facecloth to my face prior to application and let that open my pores and leave a little moisture on my skin before I use the balm to cleanse. I find that my skin doesn't feel oily or coated in product afterwards which is also nice.

I think if this felt nicer to apply I would be a little more enthusiastic about this product. But in terms of it getting the job done and getting all the warpaint off my face- this definitely does the job, and well. Still a little undecided as to whether I would repurchase, or stick to something a little more convenient such as a cleanser with a pump dispenser.

Lovely luxurious makeup remover

Balm cleansers aren't my go-to makeup removers, simply because they're not the tidiest way to take off your makeup. When I do want to really treat my skin and take care of it, though, I'll use a balm cleanser like this because it's rich and nourishing. The Trilogy cleansing balm doesn't strip the skin at all and it really feels like it's moisturising and conditioning the skin while taking off your makeup.

Only slight inconvenience - you need to use a cloth. So it's lucky this product comes with one! I appreciate that thought from Trilogy, although you'll need more than one cloth if you're removing makeup daily.

Tips: Wash your cloth after each use so you're not recontaminating your face.

Trilogy goodness

Like a lot of other Beauty Reviewers, I received my Trilogy Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm in the September BRBB.

Trilogy Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm comes in a brown plastic jar with a black screw top lid and of course the classic Trilogy labelling. Within the packaging was also included a small organic face cloth which is really soft.

Trilogy Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm is solid. I had never used a Cleansing Balm before. I used 1/4 teaspoon (literally) and the smallest amount really does go a long way for me. I rubbed between my fingers and once Trilogy Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm starts to warm up, it melts in to a liquid. I love Trilogy fragrance and this has not let me down. It has a beautiful, earthy scent.

When applying to my face it feels as though I am applying an oil, although I am not left with an oil residue. It does feel slightly sticky though.

My makeup literally dissolves, including my mascara. I don't wear a lot of makeup or waterproof mascara. I am cautious about what I use around my eye area and was very relived I did not react in any way. Trilogy Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm is very gentle around my eyes.

You definitely need to use warm water and a face cloth to remove as it is slightly sticky. After use, my face feels cleansed, soft and smooth.

A Tad Greasy

I was super excited to try this Cleansing Balm as I have heard rave reviews.

Packaging: Comes in a nice round glass jar, great on the environment as it is recyclable (well done Trilogy). Also comes with a little cotton cloth which is used to apply the balm. Great that it is washable so it can be used again.

Formula: The formula kind of feels like a mix between vaseline and coconut oil. It has a very greasy feel to it and not sure if I'm keen.

Scent or Fragrance: It didn't have a scent or a fragrance, it just smelt 'natural' I guess you could say.

Is it user friendly? Ummm I don't think it is because I found it a wee hard to get the cloth into the jar to get the product out. Just found it messy. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? lol

Does it do what it states? I think it did a really good job of removing makeup. I had to go in a couple of times to remove mascara and eyeliner but it did seem to do a really good job.

Would I purchase again? Probably not just because I found it irritated my eyes a bit as it felt greasy and oily. And for this reason I gave it 4 stars instead of the full 5.

Very hydrating

I've used this product a lot since receiving it in the september BRBB and I just can't seem to get used it, there's things that I both like and dislike about it..

This balm is is very dense and waxy, the consistency and texture is a lot like coconut oil. It has a light rose scent to it and the container is nice and sturdy, simple and practical. Also it comes with a cloth which I find is useful to use with it.

You need only use about a thumb nail sized amount each time, so although it's a pricey make up remover it's going to last a while. As you rub the balm over your face it seems to gather up your make up.

What I dislike about this balm is that it's so waxy it will not rise off with warm water at all, you need to wipe it off with a cloth and if you miss a spot you're going to be left with make up on your face. I can't help feeling like i'm not getting it all off..

But what I do really like about this balm is how dewy hydrated it leaves my skin looking and feeling, there's no need to use a moisturiser after washing with this cleansing balm so I guess it's kinda 2 in 1. For this reason I do feel that it's worth the money, although it's not something I would purchase as I prefer to rinse rather than to wipe my face.

Nice change from liquid removers.

When this arrived I was happy I had gotten another Trilogy product to try.

I don't think that I have ever used the amount they tell us to when using it but I take it piecemeal as I do each part of my face, wait about 30 seconds after covering my face completely then remove in one go with a warm/hot flannel. I have been very naughty and used it to remove eye makeup as well, I haven't had any reaction but it advises against this. I normally twice cleanse with this, sometimes I wash a third time with a foaming cleanser but others times I just leave it. This leaves my skin nice and soft after use, so it shouldn't surprise that I have even used it as a mask after cleansing to hydrate. Little multi tasking on the product that wasn't planned for.

The scent is nice and soft but with a hint of something sharper underneath. The downside of this product is the cleaning of your flannels but that's easily fixed, they need a real wash rather than a rinse out and reuse the next day. The pot lasts a while for me as I also alternate other cleaners and removers with it.

Tips: Use a spoon to remove from the pot if you are not sure on using your fingers, and you can wash the spoon before each use so you know it is clean.

On the fence

I wasn't sure what to think about these products but I bought this the day it came out as I'd been wishing for Trilogy to create a makeup removal product for a long time.

I'm pretty lax when it comes to removing makeup - a makeup removal cloth in the shower and a double cleanse with my Trilogy cleanser has me set. I'm not sure how I felt about this - perhaps because it took more time than I was used to for my routine, but I'm sure it was better than rubbing with a flannel.

I would only use this if you're going to cleanse with a proper cleanser afterwards as it leaves a slightly uncomfortable film on your face. I think for me I would only use a dedicated makeup remover when I want to take my makeup off and can't be bothered cleansing (after a late night!) so I'm not sure I would repurchase. I do however have the Make Up Break Up balm from Goodness (their sister brand) so I'm keen to see how they differ.

Nice, just not that great for me

I got this in the BRBB and was so excited to see it. I love Trilogy, and was looking forward to trying it. The tub is very pretty, just a simple brown pot with black lid and the Trilogy label on it. Once opened, the scent is lovely and subtle. I couldn't pinpoint anything in particular so had to cheat and read the ingredient list. i found that I had to use quite a bit more than reccommended to feel as though I was getting all of my face, it felt nice going on, but after I washed it off my skin felt a little bit dry and rough. I tried it a couple more times, thinking that it was just a one-off, but every time I used it was the same. So I'm not sure what it is about my skin that doesnt like this, but I will be passing it on to my mum - who will more than likely love this.
