L'Oreal Paris Telescopic Lift Mascara

I found the packaging was fairly nondescript, just a plain black tube, but who cares whst it looks like if it works right? The formula is more on the wet side. The brush is quite unique with quite small silicone bristles only on one side of the brush, the other side is flat. The wand gets quite a lot of product on it despite only having minimal bristles. The formula goes on smoothly and with minimal clumping. I found it really extended the length of my lashes while still giving good volume too. The wand managed to get every lash and was easy to use. The result was long thick lashes. I naturally have quite curled lashes so can't comment on it's ability to lift lashes but I certainly didn't have any issues with it. It wore well but I would say it's definitely not waterproof!

This mascara comes in a sleek black tube and says to offer you length and lift! Which it does do. However I find that way too much product comes out onto the wand and if you don’t spend the time to remove excess it can cause clumps. The formula it’s self is nice. Definitely offers length and lifts the lashes however I think it lacks a little bit of volume, but that could be my personal preference in mascara. It doesn’t made lashes appear more curled like you have used a lash curler. I also found the more coats you applied the more if would flake off during the day.

I did like the mascara over all, but found it to be nothing spectacular. I found it to be more for a more natural everyday l, your natural lashes but better look.

My first impression of the Loreal Telescopic Mascara was the packaging. Sleek, black, and stylish. I was very impressed. Unfortunately for me, that was the highlight. The applicator brush is hard to use due to its shape and takes a bit of practice otherwise its a super clump that is near impossible to work through. Once you've got the hang of the brush, the product did seem to lengthen my lashes but I didn't get the curl affect or volume I was seeking. On the plus side, the colour is great and it lasted all day. But it was difficult to remove, even with make-up wipes. It seemed to leave a greasy residue. Overall I probably wouldn't buy this mascara.

It’s got beautiful packaging but overall it’s not my fave mascara. The brush is kinda weird and you have to make sure you’re holding it a certain way. It doesn’t lengthen how I would expect it to, particularly compared to others I’ve tried.

It runs very easily too.

Unfortunately I’m quite undecided on how I feel about this mascara! Hence the 3’s in each category. I love the packaging, very sleek and the lid clicks into place which makes me feel like it wouldn’t dry out!

My main issue was the brush stabbed my eyes, it was great for the ends but when I went down to the root to try volumise and curl it just stabbed me! I do think it lengthened my lashes (but not 5mm as it claimed) but I didn’t get much of a curling/volumising effect due to my wariness to put it too close to the root. I did really really love it on my bottom lashes though, it really lengthened and separated them and left no clumps!

Overall if you are willing to use different mascaras for top and bottom lashes I would strongly recommend this one for your bottom lashes! And I did end up trying it over top of another volumising mascara to add some length and I do think that worked well so I will continue to use it.

I didn’t notice the formula smudging or flaking during the day but I work in an office and it’s winter so no heat testing!

I really really wanted this to be good...And it is, if you don't mind a few clumps. The wand is a bit tricky and the product goes on quite thick but boy does it stay on! After a bit of initial de-clumping, (is that a word??) My lashes looked fabulous. Long, dark and my eyes looked popped all day. It doesn't have a weird smell either which is nice.

This was an ok mascara. I have straight lashes that have no curl to them whatsoever and usually I’ll need a water proof mascara to keep them curled after I curl them with an eye lash curler. I found it stayed curl for a bit and like most non waterproof mascara the curl goes away. I probably wouldn’t use it again as I find that mascara also smudged a little bit but I also have that problem with other mascaras. The black pigment is quite dark though which is good and I think defines the eyes well. If you already had somewhat curled eyelashes I think it would work well but it didn’t for mine and my eye shape

The black tube is shaped like a telescope, is stylish, smooth and feels really nice to hold. Top marks!

I had to watch a YouTube clip to see how to use it as I had not come across a brush like this before. It is rounded on one side and flat on the other and without the help of YouTube I would have got it all kinds of wrong! I do love mascara wands that are like the rounded side (not bushy) as I find them easier to work with and they are best at extending my lashes and avoiding clumping (usually), I am just used to them being rounded all the way round.

It took me about a week to master how it works best for me and now that I have it sorted I am liking it more than I did initially. It was not getting a good review in the beginning!

If I were to use it like I do my usual mascara (which I did the first day) it ended up clumpy and would flake off during the day so I would end up with little bits of black on my face and in my eyes which considering it is suitable for sensitive eyes it most definitely is not when flakes get in there. It made my eyes sore, tired and I would find black strands coming out of my eyes days later.

I almost gave up on it! But now I just put a very light layer on with the rounded side and then turn the wand flat side up and 'comb' my lashes ... I get a nice bit of lift and extension which does stay that way for the day.

So maybe the more I use it and get used to it I am becoming a convert.

I was intrigued about trying L'Oreal Paris' new Telescopic Life Mascara. I have short lashes and smaller eyes so am always on the lookout for mascara that opens up my eyes a bit more and lifts my eyelashes. I often struggle with smudging after just few hours, classic raccoon eyes!

The Telescopic Lift Mascara claims to lift lashes up to +5mm in visible length with no fall-down, clumps, smudging and flaking, with the aid of its double hook bristle brush.

I used the black mascara everyday for a week, curling my eyelashes first and then carefully applying the mascara to my top lashes, paying attention to the double hook bristle brush zig-zagging it from bottom to top.

I noticed throughout the day that the mascara lived up to its no clumps and smudging claims. I even accidentally rubbed my eyes by accident at one point and didn't notice any smudging, impressive!

However, I found it didn't dramatically lift my lashes the way I had hoped it would, I've definitely had better results in this area from other brands. I don't think the Telescopic Lift Mascara is waterproof either.

Overall, it is a fine mascara and I liked that it didn't flake, clump or smudge. But I didn't see a significant improvement in the lifting of my lashes or the difference of a double hook bristle brush. I don't think this is 'the one' for me in the mascara department but I hope it works well for other users!
