This was my first MAC lipstick purchase. The lady at the store counter helped match me to a shade of red that suited my tones well. The lipstick is smooth and vibrant - and can be dressed up or down with the rest of your make up to create a look that is perfect for you.
Tips: Definitely recommend to use a lipstick liner around it. Other lippys I haven't had to, but found this needed it to keep it in place :)
these lippys are so easy to apply! i have two at the moment but really want more, they stay on for a few hours so i do have to re apply through out the day. it feels great and really creamy on my lips and i love it!! i would happily recommenced this to anyone.
I recently succumbed to temptation and bought my first MAC lipstick: a cremesheen finish, in the shade "Hot Gossip".
This particular shade is a beautiful mid-tone pink that on me is a perfect, slightly deeper, MLBB (my lips but better) shade. It does have some shimmer, but it's in no way frosty or glittery (I really dislike those finishes), and it really just adds to the slightly glossy look when it's applied.
The formula is looooooovely: creamy, easy to apply, buildable (one swipe is an even but light coat of colour, but it can be built up very quickly to full opacity), and it smells great! I now understand why people rave about the MAC lipstick smell - it's like a subtle warm vanilla.
The lasting power is good for such a creamy formula, in my opinion. I can get about 4 hours wear before reapplying, although that is obviously less if I eat or have a coffee.
It is expensive, that is true. However, the formula and shade range is so good that I think it's worth it, particularly when you consider how expensive many 'drugstore' brand lipsticks can be - Revlon ones are up around the $30 mark sometimes, which isn't that much less than this!
To sum up: I'm already trying to think up a plausible excuse to buy another one. Shhhh....
I love my MAC Lipsticks. Often they're unique colours that you don't see from other brands. They're also extremely pigmented and come out on your lips just as they are in the tube. The one criticism I have is that 'Snob' seems to run out really quickly. It applies quite thickly on my lips and I don't know how to avoid it.
Tips: Exfoliate your lips before applying as the thick formula (particularly for satin/matte finishes) will show dead skin.
Absolutely love my Mac lipsticks ! the most beautiful shades of pinks i have ever worked with ! Very pigmented lipsticks and easy application, definitely recommend !
Tips: If you are more into a glossy finish they work extremely well with a little gloss over top.
I recently bought my first MAC lipstick duty free in Singapore, and it is amazing!! It doesn't dry my lips out, and I feel like I don't have to apply it numerous times before getting the colour that I want! I got MAC Red and its the perfect shade, and really long lasting! I can just put it straight on without and lip liner or anything and its really creamy and lasts for hours! IN LOVE and cannot wait to get my hands on more.
Tips: Apply a lip liner first to really ensure its long-lasting!
I recently went to a red carpet event and I wanted a red lipstick that would go with my dress and also my skin tone/eyes/hair. I have never worn red as I don't know which tones suit me so I knew one of the best places to go would be MAC as I have been coloured matched for other make up there.
The MUA tried a few different colours on me as I had all my other make up on and I also took my dress in with me. She cleaned, primed and used a lip liner to fill my lips in before applying the most amazing pigmented orange toned red! I instantly loved it!
I walked away with the lip primer, lipliner to match the lipstick- and of the lipstick which was one of the matt ones. I felt like a movie star!
The lipstick wasn't drying at all and stayed on all night even after lots of bubbles and nibbles!
Was incredibly happy and I had so many compliments. This is my go to glam colour now :)
Tips: Definitely go into a store/MAC counter if you can and swatch the colour or get the MUA to put the colour on your lips. Otherwise google the colour and check out the swatches/images
I love Mac lipsticks, they are really pigmented, have a great colour range, last ages on your lips and do not dry my lips like other lipsticks do. Favourite colour so far is Snob, it is just the right pink for everyday wear.
These aren't hyped up for no reason. If you're wanting a high end lipstick that is worth your money and you're gonna use it everyday, then MAC is the way to go. Theres different formulas that suit everyone. Personally i love the matte and creme sheen formulas.
They do stay on longer than standard drugstore lipsticks and the mattes are really opaque. For matte formulas, you do wanna scrub your lips beforehand or lines and those ripped skin on your lips will show, especially if its dark shades such as diva or rebel.
The creme sheen formula is quite moisturising and non drying although it doesn't last as long.
Tips: Make sure you blot after every application and apply again
