L'Oreal Color Riche Volume Matte Lipstick (vault shade sent at random)

Thanks to BR for sending me this to review. I requested colour 480 Plum Dominant, as I was looking for a deep plum statement colour. The bullet is a slim, black, soft-touch finish, with gold accents and feels like a good quality item.

On first swatch, the pigmentation is good, and there appears to be no staining.

On wearing, lip texture shows up if the lips aren't well moisturised and/or exfoliated beforehand, but this is common with a lot of matte lip products in my experience.

Coverage and pigmentation are good on the lips. I found that without lip primer this product is pretty comfortable and not too dry, lasts around 1-2 hours without touch ups with normal wear (sips of water, no eating), and responds well to touch-ups without pilling off the lips. When used with a primer (I used ColourPop lippie stix lip primer), I find it has a bit better wear and is a little more comfortable, but still requires pretty regular touch-ups.

Mixes well with other lip products- I did some gorgeous ombre lip looks with Revolution Pro, Morphe, and Revlon products and they layered beautifully.

I didn't find it to be transfer proof, as it left smudges on water glasses, coffee cups, and masks even when allowed to dry down, and smudged across my face if my hair got caught in it.

Overall, a nice and comfortable lipstick with good pigmentation, I personally found it didn't live up to the smudge-proof claims, but I'll still enjoy wearing it, and there's lots more I'd still like to try with this lipstick.

Great lipstick, I absolutely adore the luxe packaging, feels nice in the hands. Have to have non cracked, hydrated lips to use it otherwise it’ll show every dry bit but that’s the case with all matte lipsticks, so nothing new there. For me it transfers a bit though, so that claim isn’t quite true and have to reapply often. It however doesn’t fade in a weird way like some other matte lipsticks where it starts to disappear from the inside of the lips and stays stronger on the outlines, so that’s pretty good, it fades evenly. It’s not a lot of product in the tube but doesn’t bother me as I have never in my life used up a whole lipstick before. I’d repurchase this for sure, in different colours.

From the first time I applied my L’Oréal Colour Riche Matte Lipstick I knew I was on to a spring/summer winner! This will see me through the upcoming festive season because of the epic colour – and I love it! I used the shade 187 Fuchsia Libre as I’m fond of pinker shades, but there are 12 colours in total to suit any person’s style or lip tone. The consistency of this moisturising lipstick feels quite powdery, and wears with a matte texture. I have used matte lipsticks in the past, and after a few hours of wear always found my lips were super dry with creases starting to show - not the case with this lipstick however! It might have the look of a flat matte colour, but it delivers the great look without any of the dryness! I found that it was quite versatile in use. You can pat the colour onto your lips for a natural flush of colour, or you can apply it as a normal lipstick for a more dramatic look – so you can tailor the coverage to suit your mood or style! The colour wears super well and is very long-lasting which is fab. It’s also infused with hyaluronic acid to keep lips feeling moisturised all day. The product is designed to plump and hydrate your lips for up to 16 hours – I didn’t wear it for that long but was still good for a few hours at a time! I never noticed much transfer when wearing or eating dinner and sipping a drink didn’t remove it either. I have very full natural lips, so unsure how much additional volume I received – usually any colour gives me a dramatic lip. Still though, my lips looked fab and full. Love the sleek packaging – which is a simple elegant black tube with gold detail – meaning you get a precise application every time and it looks great too! A stunning matte with a powdery, lightweight finish – I highly recommend!

First of all, the packaging is very luxe it reminds me of more expensive lippys and I like the logo stamp on the lippy itself. The colour I got was gorgeous. In terms of no smudge or transfer, it definitely did have some transfer and I assume that would be the case because it's not matte which I love as it's very hydrating. It didn't last 16 hours, I ended up with a "lip liner" looking lips at the end of the day so definitely needed to reapply. Unless you're not planning to eat or drink anything I don't think this is as long lasting as the claims. I did love it and would for sure use it again.

I opened my package up very excited about this lipstick and my first impression was wow! I love that’s it’s slim sleek packaging & it’s matte. It feels luxurious and the fact that the lid clicks into place so it won’t get lost in your handbag. I then opened the lid and seen the actual product and was impressed! I love how the top of the lipstick had an R indented in it. When I first put it on I was not expecting it to glide onto my lips the way it did, it felt amazing! It’s super light and my lips felt pretty good, it did dry down and I could feel my lips getting a little dry but that quickly past, it’s something I can deal with. It claims to be transfer proof but wasn’t for myself. However it has lasted all day and I’ve touched up once. So overall pretty happy with this product and would love to purchase more shades!! Definitely a makeup artists dream with the size of it! You could fit so many into your kit compared to other brands.

I need to start off this review by saying that the packaging on this lipstick is lovely. It's thin, matte black and has a velvet feel - very luxurious!

I chose the shade Le Wood Nonchalant because it made me think of a 1990s earthy shade, which I liked very much back in the day and still do. I was not disappointed. The colour suited my skin tone well and had excellent opacity. Even better, the formula applied evenly and felt every bit as moisturising as it claimed it would.

On first wear I did find the lipstick clung to some dry parts of my lips and wore off unevenly (thankfully it reapplies evenly, so it's not a big deal), so I made sure to exfoliate my lips before I wore it again, and this made a huge difference in wear and look.

My only negative? I wish it lasted a little longer on the lips. It did tend to come off as soon as I had a coffee or something to eat, which meant I had to reapply more often than I like. Had it had longevity it would've been the full five kisses from me.

Overall though, this is a good-looking lipstick, that smells nice (a bit fruity) and looks good on my lips. I would definitely consider purchasing another shade.

Felt moisturised and also had the matte look. great for everyday or something more subtle for a night out. Great to carry around in my purse and I love the stick format! I will be using this again!! <3

I was super excited to be part of this trial! I chose the colour Rosy Confident. The packaging is gorgeous, a slim line almost velvet soft feeling and gold inner. The lipstick itself seems a bit small, but the pricepoint is quite low to make up for it. No strong scent, just your standard lipstick smell.

The colour is lovely and the lipstick glides on smoothly and because of the slim line design, can be used with precision to get the outer corners and cupids bow. Now here is my struggle - I don't find this either matte or volumising! There is no shine, but I would not have jumped to thinking it is a matte product. It is also NOT smudge proof and although the high pigment lasts quite well, the transfer is very apparent and all my mugs/glasses had obvious colouring on them from drinking.

This is definitely moisturising and my lips didn't have that parched sensation many others give me, but I also think that's because its not a very matte effect product.

Overall, I do love this lipstick and have enjoyed wearing it daily, and I will definitely look for other colours to try when this one is finished!

This felt nice to apply and didnt bleed. I believe you can feel the moisterisers it contains when applying. It lasts until mid afternoonish before needing to be reapplied. The colour I chose was nice though slightly different than pictured, though this could be the computer monitor. I would purchase this in different shades. Thank you for the opportunity to try this :)
