This is the first lash serum I have used and I was really impressed. I've been using this for around 8 week now (just before New Years) and have noticed a huge difference in the appearance and generally feeling of my lashes.
My lashes feel stronger, and i don't seem to lose as many lashes when taking my makeup off! My lashes are more defined after applying mascara and definitely feel like they're in a much better, healthier condition (probably due to less fall out and the general length of them now). Its a lightweight serum and doesn't sting whatsoever which i was worried about, also doesn't cause my eyes to water either.
One negative for me would be though, that it did generally find it rather messy to apply and generally quite difficult (though I guess this doesn't differ from any other lash serum product?). I also am not overly a fan of the packaging where you twist the product at the bottom and then the serum starts to come through the brush bristles - I normally start off being super careful, and then frustrated because no product is coming out, to then being inpatient and twisting it a few more times and a tonne of product comes out - so I end up wasting excess product. Its hard to tell from the packaging too how much you have used, so not sure how long the serum will last me.
The product does feels a bit sticky when it starts to dry but i find thats only for a few seconds and also may be due to me applying more than needed. I found that I had to let the serum dry completely before putting my mascara on or it went clumpy.
Overall though, I do feel that my lashes feel more conditioned and I generally love my lashes appearance – they have started to look much fuller, thicker and overall healthier. I can easily see a big difference when applying mascara. Will continue to use, but keen to try another brand to compare :)
I was over the moon to be selected for this trial, I had wanted to try a lash serum for ages but I was so undecided on which one to buy and far out the price of some of them.. WOAH!
My lashes are in bad shape they are sparse and short and I need lashings of mascara to make them look half decent. I also used to get them tinted regularly just so they looked a teeny bit better for thee ole au natural days.
The packaging of the serum is sleek in a white cylinder tube with a silver lid and the twist up piece on the bottom also silver. I pop the cap off and see the super fine brush, I twist the bottom of the tube and see the clear, gel like serum pop out through the bristles. (The first time I used it, it took a lot of “winding”and “clicking” to get the serum through) it has a slight chemical smell but this is only very slight and only when you really “sniff” for it.
On a daily basis “5 clicks” seemed to be the amount of serum needed for both eyes. The serum has quite a gel like consistency so It was easy to apply. I have quite sensitive eyes and I had no issues with irritation or stinging on application. The only wee, teeny thing I noticed was after applying it at night I would wake up with some of it dried up under my eye (easily removed with a facecloth and warm water though)
After 2 months of continuous use, I can say my lashes definitely aren’t as sparse as they used to be, there is definitely visible new hair growth. However my lashes aren’t any longer. I have also noticed I have had a lot less eyelashes fall out since using the serum- hay fever season makes my eyes stupidly itchy and every time I rub my eyes I seem to lose several eyelashes at a time, it’s even I wonder I have any eyelashes left sometimes!! But this year I’ve still had the ferocious eye rub and less fall out!
Overall I was happy with the results however I would have loved to have had more length. Now that I have tried an eyelash serum I will be making it part of my regular routine. I am unsure though, if I’ll be trying another brand or sticking to this L’Oréal one, only for the fact I wouldn’t mind a bit more length. Totally recommend if you have sparse eyelashes though!!
Tips: Make sure you completely remove eye makeup before applying serum, or else it will give the brush a dirty look.
