A bit so so

Upon using this product I was first impressed wth the packaging the design is classic and functional. Unfortunately this is where the product stopped impressing me. I found the eye cream to be a but go hum it didn't make my eyes feel any lighter or help with tired eyes, there was no feeling of tightness that I have had with other eye creams.

Overall I wouldn't recommend this product as a go to eye cream.

Doesn't do much

I bought it after having eczema on my eyelid for the first time, thinking this would help me improve my skin barrier. It didn't do much, or maybe it's better to say it didn't do enough. There was a little improvement in the beginning but I would still get eczema while using it and it didn't nothing once the skin was inflamed. I think it's just not rich enough to help really dry and damaged skin to replenish it's barrier. Avene Soothing Eye Cream worked way better.

The french eye cream

This eye contour cream was a product i was quite excited to try! Who doesnt want to try and get rid of those wrinkles and puffy eyeballs. Especislly when it is such a irritant free product

The packaging is basicslly a plastic bag within a tube and is designed to prevent oxygen attacking the formula, which means no added nasties to keep the formula from deteriorating, there is a lovely wee diagram on the side of the box to illustrate this. The pump bottle also has a handy quick on/of turn pump to prevent those nasty travel bumps which end in product everywhere.

Downside is that yes it caters to the french language but i had to look for the english use translation which was half way down the box. Yes eye cream is self explanatory but for someone that generally doesnt know its a bit of a find. Much to my surprise though it had picture instructions inside the box which solved that problem.

I have used this a few times as i had only had it a few days before having to submit a review. But the formula is non greasy, definitely no fragrance and adsorbs incredibly quick.

However my eyes seemed to be incredibly sensitive this week and i spent the whole first night with watery eyes and had to rinse it off with a towel. I perservered and tried again and seems my eyes are tolerating it more now.

You only need a very small amount, half a pump will do.

Final review: I probably wouldnt buy this myself, but i am willing to see how it goes after two weeks.

Not a fan!

The product looks flashy and promising. It's very compact, easy to carry around. The pump applicator is good - very hygienic.

However the product itself did not work for me. I have not noticed any difference to my skin (surrounding eye area) ever since I started using this product.

I feel this product is too expensive too. $38 for a small quantity of eye cream is too much.

Sharing is Caring (for your eye contours!)

I had some help in testing this product from my boyfriend, who probably has more sensitive skin around his eyes than I do. He found it kept his eye contour comfortable all day, that it was easy to apply, and that there was no funny fragrance. For him, it ticked all of the boxes.

I guess I'm a little fussier and there was one thing that stopped me from really getting on board with this product- how long it takes to sink into the skin. One pump gives far too much product and it slides around a fair amount. You have to leave it for a few minutes before putting anything over the top. This is not a problem in and of itself, but for someone who's usually in a rush, this can slow you down. Patience is a virtue that I do not have!

I do like how cooling it feels around the eye, and for an anti-puffiness cream, that's ideal. The featured ingredient for 'de-puffing', niacinamide, has been popping up in more and more of my skin care and this is the first time I've seen it in an eye area product.

I think this is one beauty product that I won't mind passing on to the man of the house. I'll stick with something a little quicker to absorb.

Tips: Pop this on last thing at night, or keep it on your desk at work for a mid-afternoon refresher for tired eyes.

Soothing and smoothing

This eye cream has no smell at all and doesn't look greasy when applied.

My eye area feels soothed and comfortable after putting this on and it seems smoother so it goes well under makeup.

The price is a bit much for an eye cream though so unless you have sensitive skin save your bucks.

Eye contour

I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial this skincare brand. This is not a skincare brand I had heard of before, so I was curious to try it.

La Roche-Posay is a French brand that is made in France. The main language on the bottle is French, but there are English directions written on the back of the bottle, and on the box it comes in.

The bottle and the box are both white with black lettering and blue accents. The eye contour comes in a clear white pump bottle, and the cream inside is white. The bottle is 20ml. The instructions say to apply the eye contour both morning and night, and there are directions on how best to apply it to the eye area pictured on the inside of the box. They can be a little hard to see if you do not break the box open to read the inside. The instructions reveal a 4-step process for gently applying the cream to the eye area.

When I first received this product I was a little confused by the term “contour” as I thought it meant some kind of eye product to give shaping to the eye. But now that I have used it, “contour” seems to be another way to describe this as an eye cream, specifically a cream for the curved, delicate eye area.

This cream is designed for very sensitive, easily irritated eyes and skin. My eyes and skin are both very sensitive and easily irritated. There are hardly any creams I can put near my eyes, including specifically designed eye creams. I am glad to say that this cream lived up to its promise and did not irritate my eyes. It has no discernible scent, and it is easy to pump out of the bottle and to apply to the eye are. It absorbs well too and is non-greasy. It is also meant to reduce puffiness in the eye area. This is not something that I suffer from, so I cannot say as to whether or not it worked.

Altogether this is a gentle and mild cream that feels rich and non-irritating on the skin.

Gentle eye cream

If you're a tired mum like me eye cream is one of your absolute essentials. Even if it only makes you look slightly less tired it's totally worth it. This eye cream is quite thick and looks very rich. I only needed about half a pump for both eyes because a little bit goes a long way. My skin did not react to it at all, sometimes I react to the strangest of things, but this was fine. The packaging has a handy turn top that locks it so it is easy to lock for travel and doesn't waste any product in locking it. I think this eye cream did make my eyes look less puffy and tired. I'm not sure if it was the moisturiser or the eye cream but after a week of using these products my forehead was very oily. My skin is sensitive but not dry and I think these may have been a bit too moisturising and rich for my skin. It's a nice soothing product for sensitive skin and is worth trying if you have sensitive skin.

Ohhh La La

I was so super excited to get on the trial team for this and couldn't wait to open it up and try it out! I feel like I might still need a wee while longer for this eye contour cream to give it a full opinion, but i'll let you know what I think so far!

First of all, I really love the packaging/the pump that is used, it pumps out probably a little too much so I've just been using half a pump, a little goes a long way! The only thing I didn't really like about the packaging was that the instructions were on the inside of the box, I would have preferred them to be on the bottle or on the outside of the box, I thought it was a bit weird to have it inside where it was almost hidden, but not a biggy really!

These cream has left my under eyes feeling soo hydrated, it's so dreamy! I usually struggle with dry eyes, mainly in the corners underneath, but this has helped so much with that. I feel like my eyes are more plump and less puffy, no noticeable difference with fine lines yet but I really hope this does end up helping with them!

I did find because this is quite creamy it takes a little longer to soak in to the skin, so I've just made sure I pop this on and then do something else while it soaks in, so I have had to change my routine a little to accommodate it.

I love how this product doesn't sting or make me dry out and itch, I also didn't notice any over powering fragrance, if any at all, so that is always nice too! Overall I'm pretty happy with this and will continue to use!

Tips: Don't use a full pump of product, it's too much for the eye area and doesn't "sink" in very quickly, but would probably be okay if you weren't applying makeup (or at least not right away).

Smoothest my under eyes have ever been

I have used a couple of la Roche-posay products prior to this review; and really enjoyed them! Their effaclear face wash is my holy grail so I was interested in seeing what a mainly ‘one brand’ routine would look like for me.

This product is part of their ‘ultra sensitive skin‘ line have no fragrance to them, and a nice ‘medicinal’ look to their packaging - think luxe laboratory/fancy spa styles. I like that they are both in a pump bottle, not sticking your fingers in to a whole jar is always quite nice!

Eye cream - 20ml. A little definitely goes a long way with this, think half of a pea sized dot between your two eyes. I used a little too much a couple of times and did notice when rubbing my eyes later in the day, that I could feel some product that was sitting on my skin had balled up with me rubbing. I have noticed that my under eye area is more ‘plump’ and not as bumpy after a week of applying every morning (and some evenings). I tap this in gently on my under eye area and under my eyebrows with my ring finger. No complaints and has not irritated my skin at all, I haven’t noticed any changes with wrinkles/crows feet as it hasn’t been long enough and I don’t really have too many of them either. I do have a few little ‘bumps’ or rough texture under my eyes usually and this has smoothed the skin beautifully.

This seemed to interact well with my La Roche-Posay face wash and hydrated my skin beautifully after cleansing. I will definitely consider purchasing this again when I run out

Tips: Less is more in this case!
