L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Fibralogy Double Serum Review

I have very fine hair that lacks volume and struggles to hold a style. So I was very excited to try this product. I used 2 pumps (on short hair) on towel dried hair. After 5-10mins I styled as usual with a texturising paste and blow dried my hair.

The serum added some volume to my hair with the benefit of not making it greasy or sticky. However I am not sure convinced that the serum is cumulatively thickening my hair. The product made my hair very soft and smooth - which I personally prefer it didn't as much as it did, as it made it hard to maintain my hair style throughout the whole day.

The packaging was attractive, but I worry that it may be hard to know when it is about to run out. The smell was also very pleasant (like a clean smell rather than a perfume smell). This is very affordable product and I will continue using it for the benefit of the small increase in volume it achieves.

I have very long, very fine, thin hair that just constantly looks limp and yuck, so you can imagine my excitement when I got picked to trial this product. While excited, I was also a little skeptical; due to not having a lot of hair I find that most products tend to weigh it down so I stick to just a shampoo and conditioner most of the time.

I'm still not sure on the packaging, I can't decide if its cool or just tacky! I'm not quite sure why this serum needs to be separated either. Nevertheless, the pump works so I'm happy!

This is a 'double' serum, so has two tubes in the pump that mix when you pump them out (one clear one pink). The formula is quite runny and almost silky, definitely not sticky which is good! One thing that I really don't enjoy is the smell, to me the fragrance is quite strong and the only thing I can liken it too is a washing powder we used to buy when I was flatting at uni.. The scent doesn't last too long once in the hair, so I can live with that.

I apply it to towel dry lengths and ends as per instructions. Once dry I do actually notice a slight difference in volume, without any heaviness or greasiness. Compared to my salon brand thickening spray it doesn't produce as much volume however for $11 I am happy with its performance.

Overall, I think this is a decent thickening serum for the price. It does the job fairly well without leaving any noticeable residue and I like how light the formula is. Once I run out of my salon spray I will consider repurchasing this

I used the serum mostly at the front/crown as that's where my hair is at its thinnest. I found the serum helps my hair look silkier & shinier for longer, so I can go between washes for an extra day. I have not been able to tell if my hair is thicker or not since using the product. I've styled (blow dry) my hair as per normal to create more volume in my hair. Apart from that, I can't see a difference in volume or thickness.

This is a great serum that - outside of its thickening properties - smells amazing, is non-greasy, and makes your hair look awesome. It also dries off really quickly which makes it good for every day use (I did note that I had some greasiness having used it for a third day in a row but it went away throughout the course of the day). My hair definitely improved in quality using this serum in conjunction with the shampoo and conditioner. I'm not entirely sure whether it has thickened or not, but it is certainly nicer and doesn't tangle as easily, so that is evidence in its favour.

I used this product on wet hair every time after using the Fibralogy shampoo and conditioner. I followed the directions and used several drops of the serum (between 4-5). There is a slight pleasant fragrance (similar to the shampoo and conditioner fragance) and the product was non-greasy and didn't weigh my hair down. While there was no visible difference in the thickness in my hair there was certainly a difference on touch. Although my hair hasn't increased in the initial thickness over time it has maintained the thickness. My hair was also much softer to the touch. I liked this product and would continue using it.

I have thin hair and tried this because it says it will make hair appear thicker. Although I didn't find that it made my hair feel or look any thicker, I did still like it as a serum. It made my hair really soft and smooth. I would use it again but wouldn't recommend it to someone using it to make their hair appear thicker

I would definitely pick this double serum up if I were browsing the aisles, as it packaged in an eyecatching blue and pink box. The fragrance is very subtle and pretty, which I love! However, the product itself gave me varying results. I found that if I put 3 - 4 x 10 cent size pumps of this throughout my shoulder length hair and then blow dried it, I got a lot of shine and bit of volume, but mostly on the ends (even though I worked the product through from roots to tips). Unfortunately, after a few hours though the volume dropped, and I was left with flat (but also very smooth and shiny) hair. To be honest, I would have loved to try just the thickening lotion, as serums tend to have a flattening effect on my hair. Overall, it is a nice looking and smelling product and it does do what it says, but the results were not long lasting for me. My first impression of this serum was the packaging. It is very good quality. It is a smooth ergonomically designed shape making it easy to hold and pump. The colours jade green and fuscia pink are very eye catching. I used this serum alongside the fibralogy shampoo and conditioner. I found it had a very subtle, almost non existant fragrance. Which suited me. I pumped twice each time to use on my medium length hair. I used it on towel dried hair. You can also use it on dry hair, which I tried just rubbing a little through the ends once. This helped stop flyaways. I am not sure how the serum would perform on its own and not in conjunction with the shampoo and conditioner. I feel that my hair has gained volume and I will continue to use it. I am usually afraid to use serums as they weigh down my fine hair, but this serum has proven to be very light. I would recommend trying it out if you have fine hair and you want a light weight serum to help thicken and not weigh hair down.

Firstly I love the packaging of this product, hot pink and blue, my favourite colours! The pump is easy to use and it smells really nice, but not overpowering. I used it together with the matching shampoo and conditioner. As far as doing what it it supposed to do, I'm really on the fence. I like the smoothing serum part, it definately makes it easier to comb through your hair after washing, and remove the tangles. But I'm not so sure that the thickening part works amazingly. I've been using it for three weeks now, and I think that my hair felt the same just by using the fibralogy shampoo and conditioner. If this product adds volume then it's not a huge difference. Having said that I would probably still purchase it as it is a great smoothing and detangling serum and for that alone it was worth using.

It urks me went companies discontinue products that actually have merit. This was ok as far as cheaper end hair products go.
