L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Fibralogy Double Serum Review

This is a great serum that - outside of its thickening properties - smells amazing, is non-greasy, and makes your hair look awesome. It also dries off really quickly which makes it good for every day use (I did note that I had some greasiness having used it for a third day in a row but it went away throughout the course of the day). My hair definitely improved in quality using this serum in conjunction with the shampoo and conditioner. I'm not entirely sure whether it has thickened or not, but it is certainly nicer and doesn't tangle as easily, so that is evidence in its favour.

I have been using this product with the matching shampoo and conditioner and I have definitely noticed a change in the thickness of my hair. I have very fine, thin, oily, completely straight hair which is difficult to style and add any body to but even my hairdresser friend noticed the added thickness in my hair.

This may sound odd and wouldn't suit some hair types but it gave a little bit of grit to my hair which made it easier to style and gave it more body. It wasn't too dry though and I found that if I applied the serum to dry hair, it smoothed down my fluffy bits without making my hair oily like some other serums do.

The only thing I maybe don't like about the product is that you can't see how much you have left (it possibly would be good if you could see through one of the tubes to give you an idea of how much was left).

It has a nice smell that isn't overpowering. At $11 I would happily buy it - definitely a great product!

I thoroughly enjoyed using this product though I did expect maybe a little more volume. My hair is so very fine. I used the serum on wet hair and it did feel volumised instantly. It also smelt devine and left my hair with a beautiful glossy shine.

I have tried many things to thicken my limp fine locks and no success, until........ this arrived in my world! I have been using it pretty much everyday for a couple of weeks now and I noticed a difference almost right away. It comes In an easy pump bottle with two parts to it, each pump gives you the thickening and the smoothing product. Put it through your hair (wet or dry) and that is it! It does say to use it mainly in the ends however I have been putting it through from roots to ends. The result is full of body, thick hair! One thing I have noticed is it has dried my hair out quite a bit. Downsides are that you cant see how much you have left in the bottle and it is only a small bottle and you need to use a lot so it doesnt last that long.

I have very long, very fine, thin hair that just constantly looks limp and yuck, so you can imagine my excitement when I got picked to trial this product. While excited, I was also a little skeptical; due to not having a lot of hair I find that most products tend to weigh it down so I stick to just a shampoo and conditioner most of the time.

I'm still not sure on the packaging, I can't decide if its cool or just tacky! I'm not quite sure why this serum needs to be separated either. Nevertheless, the pump works so I'm happy!

This is a 'double' serum, so has two tubes in the pump that mix when you pump them out (one clear one pink). The formula is quite runny and almost silky, definitely not sticky which is good! One thing that I really don't enjoy is the smell, to me the fragrance is quite strong and the only thing I can liken it too is a washing powder we used to buy when I was flatting at uni.. The scent doesn't last too long once in the hair, so I can live with that.

I apply it to towel dry lengths and ends as per instructions. Once dry I do actually notice a slight difference in volume, without any heaviness or greasiness. Compared to my salon brand thickening spray it doesn't produce as much volume however for $11 I am happy with its performance.

Overall, I think this is a decent thickening serum for the price. It does the job fairly well without leaving any noticeable residue and I like how light the formula is. Once I run out of my salon spray I will consider repurchasing this

ok, so i left this till the last minute to write my review as i wanted to get the most out of this product to see if it actually helped with thickening of my fine hair. what i will start with is the packaging. oh my goodness, L'oreal have hit a home run with this. It is visualy appealing, the pink and Teal colours are spot on, and if you are like me, i shop with my eyes. then theres the pump, i live how its a double serum, and it comes out so easy! The serum itself is a clear runny mixture, that has a slight pink tone to it and it smells fantastic! now, i used this for the best part of 2 weeks to the ends of my hair, unfortunatley i didnt notice any differencein thickness, which i am guessing is because i didnt combine using the Fibralogy shampoo and condtioner. I havnt read other reviews, so im pretty sure you would see results if you did use the 3 products together. What i did LOVE about this though, is that, even though it didnt work on my hair as it was ment to, it worked GREAT as a styling serum!! it isnt oily, and didnt leave a yuck looking finish. I it actually made my hair really healthy looking after blowdrying, air drying, had no frizz, and was pretty soft!! Would i purchase again, YES, but i would definatly invest in the paired shampoo and conditioner. all in all i really like this product, and L'oreal have hit the mark on its packaging!!! KEEP IT UP LOREAL!!!

I love this product! When I first read the details on the bottle, the word 'smooth' and I then tried it for the first time with a little trepidation. "Smooth" seems to me, a lot of the time, to mean "straight" where hair products are concerned, so I was worried I wouldn't be able to do my usual curly scrunch! However, I was very pleasantly surprised! I used the double serum before my mousse and upon blow drying and scrunching my hair, I noticed the ends of my curls were smoother and less fly away. But the most amazing thing was the body it gave my hair! Recently my favorite Redken 'Industrial strength" curl cream was discontinued and I have been trying to find a product to replace it. L'Oreal Double Strength serum coupled with a strong hold mousse has done the job! Yay! My hair definitely does feel thicker and has more body when using this product. I will definitely be purchasing again! It has a very light not-really-noticeable scent and is non-greasy. Overall I would definitely recommend this product for anyone that needs a hair body boost!

Having very fine hair, but plenty of it, I often struggle to get any volume through my (short) locks. So when I was invited to test the Fibralogy range, I wondered if this could be my answer.

When I opened the box I was quite surprised. The bottle is identical to my husband's L'Oreal Men Expert Vita Lift moisturiser, except for the colour. Better not get them mixed up!

The pump action dispenser puts two different coloured liquids into your hand for you to combine before applying to wet or dry hair. It isn't sticky at all but can feel a little greasy if you have too much left over. A quick towel wipe sorts that out.

Application is easy and it spreads well through your hair just with your fingers. I found it worked best on wet hair before styling as it can leave dry hair looking a little greasy.

I found that the serum did add a little volume. Temporarily. It simply doesn't have the staying power of mousse and I couldn't work out if you're supposed to use it with other styling products or not. If you are, it seems to defeat the object of using the serum. Anyway, I used it on its own and got some volume to start with, but it soon faded. Even with a slathering of hair spray to follow.

So, personally I wouldn't bother with this. I usually use a mousse and that gives me volume and staying power, which is what I want/need. I just don't see the point of adding this to the mix when it won't add anything else to the equation.

The packaging is good, it looks good on your vanity. The serum is not too heavily scented. The consistency is fluid like and is easily absorbed by the hair, and easy to work with. I did notice that it made my hair look thicker,because my hair is naturally fine and soft, so I was happy with the volume I got. Layering this product didn't even weigh my hair down.Thumbs up for this product.

I expected this to be heavy and greasy. To my surprise, it wasn't. It was a lot lighter than I thought but it still retained the quality of making my hair pretty shiny. I'd prefer if it wasn't so shiny to the point where I really have to watch my use. It does work in the sense that it made my hair appear thicker but I think part of it is the shine effect which gives off that illusion.
