Finally a Bobby I can use!

My daughter & I have a lot of hair! When I got a set of these in my BRBB, I was hoping this could be the greatest thing for us. but first - how does one use these?? The instructions on the back werent too clear, so off to youtube I went & within minutes I was attempting to get them to stay in my hair. turning them clockwise to get them in & anticlockwise to get them out. it wasnt quite happening for me, but when I tried a half hair bun I had more success. Putting them into my daughter hair, was easy as pie! She has to have a very neat bun every week & low enough for her to wear a hat. 3 of these spinners inserted like a star & we are winning. I do put a bun net over the top, but seriously the easiest & quickest way yet. Also, these spinners are seriously strong, the metal hasn't distorted, although a little of the colour has worn off from where they cross each other. Colour wise - it doesnt really matter, they disappear into the hair & hide very effectively. I need to play some more with these for my hair.

Edit: the colour is coming off these more than I would like, but soon they will be silver, which will be ok.

Tips: To get them out, unscrew them anti clockwise. Insert them so they cross, like an X if using two, or a star if using 3.

Amazing!

These came in my BR box. When I saw them I was a little confused and skeptical as to how to use them and if they would work for my hair. My hair is really long (down to the middle of my back), thick and untameable. In the last I haven't been successful in using just bobby pins to pin all of my hair up so I wasn't convinced that these would do the job.

Firstly, these look like springs haha. You 'screw' them into your hair - clockwise to put them in and anticlockwise to take them out. Although there were instructions on how to put these in, I had to YouTube a tutorial as I didn't quite get the gist of it.

I have worn these a few times since receiving them and I love them. They are super easy to use and definitely keep my hair up! I usually use two or three of these clips to hold my hair in place (it is quite heavy), and this suffices. These keep my hair in place all day and are comfortable to use.

My only issue is that I wish these were in black, as I would prefer them to completely blend in with my hair but this isn't a big enough issue for me to not repurchase them.

I was pleasantly surprised by these and honestly didn't expect to like them. I will be buying more when I am off my no spend and would definitely recommend them!

You make it sound so easy! they looked so scary to me that I gave them to a colleague (who's also on BR) who promptly rolled her hair up in them!!!! I would've ended up in hairdresser A and E I reckon :)

A definite for girls

I was fortunate enough to receive a pack of these in March Beauty Box. As my hair is short I had no personal need for these but with two granddaughters, both with long hair, I couldn't wait to try them out. After a couple of minutes of figuring out the best way to hide them discreetly, we tucked them into a bun and they were remarkable. Completely hidden, hairstyle in place for the better part of the day, and two very happy littlies! I would definitely recommend them to any one with long hair!

Bobby Spinners

I received a brown pack of these in my March beauty box and my first thought was 'how am I ever going to use these things?!' They looked a little crazy and I didn't see how they were going to work, but seeing as I put my hair up a lot I was intrigued. I took them straight out of the box, twirled my hair into a bun, rolled a couple of these into it and was blown away...they were so simple to use and my bun felt super sturdy! I now use one or two in combination with extra long bobby pins to safely secure my buns for the day. The only downside is the paint seems to be chipping off them quite easily, but you don't see them anyway. I'll definitely be repurchasing these at some stage, and I'm happy to see they come in a blonde version too!

Tips: Spin them in one way, and rotate them the opposite way to remove.

perfect

These seemed very interesting when I first looked into them. I have rather long curly hair and these are now a bit of a must have for one main reason. Stability... I can pop my hair in a quick bun and add one of these and it won't fall out. Why is this important you ask? I ride a motorbike and the last thing I want is my hair coming out and becoming nastily tangled and gross for the remainder of my ride (which has happened before) and with one of these I've never been let down. Love them and use them whenever I want my hair to stay where I've put it.

Tips: if in doubt check out YouTube for tutorials

A Small suprise

These were an item i received in the last beauty box, and i have to admit, i was a little confused by them. I had never seen bobby pins like this, and pushed them to the side, and focused on my other goodies.

It wasn't until i was doing my hair one day, with a donut bun that i was in desperate need of bobby pins and of course, i had none available (isnt that every ones story). These were all i had, so i played around with them and twisted them into my hair.

Firstly, it is so easy to twist this into your hair, and they are easy enough to twist far enough so that your hair covers all traces of the spinner. I only needed these three spinners, and one other bobby pin to fully secure my bun, which lasted all day! This is saying alot, because my hair is thick, long and heavy, and i can easily use 10 or more bobby pins in my hair.

The only negative i have over these spinners is the fact i find them harder to remove than normal bobby pins. Its not impossible, its just a bit more time consuming to unwind the spinner out of my hair. However, i would still buy these and use these again in a heart beat because they are effective, and you don't need many to create the hairstyle i want.

Good Hair Don't Care

Honestly aside from dyeing my hair on a regular basis, I'm not fussed about how it looks. However these pins make my life so much easier. I often have my hair tied back, especially on days when it hasn't been washed, and these are just so easy to twist into my hair. They prevent breakage, unlike my regular hair ties, and when I let my hair down after doing my make up the natural curls are often accentuated. I really love these and once they've all disappeared (I mean, I doubt these are exempt from the disappearing bobby pin rule) I will definitely buy some more. Plus, they're super affordable!

Beats my hair tie!

The spinners are one of my favourite things that BR has introduced me to. My first reaction was "the heck!?", I flipped the cardboard over to have a quick read of the "how-to" and added them to the "too hard" basket.

Two months later (I know) I decided to give them a go. In general, I twirl my thick wavy hair straight into a bun and use a hair tie to secure it. When I lose my hair tie I have to resort to a good 10-15 bobby pins to ensure that my hair stays in place, particularly if I've straightened it and popped it up into a bun because it has a tendency to slip out.

I didn't waste time trying to work out the dynamics of these pins, I hopped on Youtube and googled how it's done. It took me three attempts to figure out what works best for me which is one pin to secure the end (where the hair normally gets tucked into the bun) and the other at the base. The spinners hold my bun in place all day.

I've gone jogging with my dog a few times and my bun remained in place except on two occasions. I feel that placement is important so it's good to take the time to figure out what works for you and how the pins will work for the type of hair you have. If you have thin hair I'm not so sure you'll get as much benefit out of it as someone like myself with thicker hair.

They are easy to spin into place and just as easy to remove my spinning them in the opposite direction. I was concerned about the spinners tugging on my hair when I was trying to remove them but I've never had an issue.

Overall, I'm happy to have these pins and would highly recommend to those with thick medium-long hair. They're so much better than having to go through a pack of bobby pins that go missing after the first few days!

Holy grail of bobby pins

This slightly strange design is magic. Seriously. I'm not sure how but it literally screws into your hair and feels so solid! I was able to do with one bobby pin what I would normally use around 5/7 for. It's got great hold. I like that it feels strong too. It's made of some type of metal.

Amazing strength

I received these in my March BRBB and when I first saw them I had absolutely no idea what the heck they were! Obviously by the packaging they were hair thingys, but for what?!

So after reading the back, doing a bit of googling I figured out how to try them. Essentially they're spiral bobby pins; they come in a pack of 3, they're incredibly strong (you can't bend them), and you use them for up-dos by spinning them into your hair.

My first attempt was not entirely successful, but after trying again I managed a gorgeous bun with little effort. I have a LOT of hair, and it's quite long so I was really pleased to see that the 3 pins held it up all day without any problems.

Definitely something I will use again and again, although at $5 a 3 pack, I hope I don't lose them at the same rate I lose bobby pins, so it's something I'll keep an eye out and purchase when on sale.

Tips: Don't try to pull the spinners out, you have to spin them in the opposite direction to remove them - just like a screw
