L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Smooth Intense Shampoo Review

This is a pretty nice shampoo. It smells good, only a tiny bit is needed (so its good value for money) and it leaves hair shiny, soft and silky. The only thing is that it didn't really do anything for frizz in my case, either alone or with the shampoo. I have straight-wavy hair, and after washing (as my hair air dries) I tend to get little wispy/frizzy bits in my hair. Maybe I hoped for too much, but I hoped that this shampoo (used with the conditioner) would prevent this. It didn't do anything in this regard, but as I've said, it was otherwise a good shampoo. My mom tried it out too (without using the conditioner as well), and the shampoo worked wonders in taming frizz in her hair (her hair is very curly) and really did protect against humidity for 48 hrs. So I guess the effect of this shampoo depends on your hair type, and my hair was probably not the type it was designed for.

Am definitely a fan of this! Says to smooth, anti-frizz, shine, and my hair looks just that.

Shampoo is super lathery, dont need much at all. Hair feels clean and lovely.

Even after brushing hair doesn't frizz as much, yay!

If you are one who loves a super yummy smellng shampoo, sorry to say I have definitely smelt better, but totally worth it for how shiny my hair looks!

I have very fine, curly hair that likes to "puff" up no matter the weather. Even after straightening, the puffiness remains, and I need to run an oil through my ends to get a completely smooth, silky result.

I did find that after using this shampoo, my hair was a lot smoother after straightening, but this may be because the shampoo hadn't completely cleansed my hair of excess oils - my roots still felt a fair bit oily straight after a fresh wash. I only skip one day between washes, and always use a dry shampoo on the in-between days, so it's not like there's a lot of oil build-up to get rid of. I wasn't particularly fond of the smell, either.

Both the shampoo and conditioner are fine for just getting the job done, and i'll be keeping them in my bathroom as back-ups, but after reading claims of anti-frizz, silky smooth gloriousness, I feel they just miss the mark.

I enjoyed using this shampoo as it lathes up easily & definitely cleansed my hair well of all the styling products I use. It has a lovely fragrance and yes I think it does leave your hair smoother for 48 hours. Because my hair has a colour treatment & a perm in it, I felt for my hair, after a while the ends of my hair was becoming quite dry looks. I don't use a blow dryer or styling tools so can't comment as to whether the Thermo-Protecting agent really works sorry.

Thanks BR for sending me this product to try and review. Ive been using it for the past week and i can notice the smoothness that my hair doesnt seem to usually have. A lot of supermarket bought s&c's usually leave my hair feeling heavy but my hair feels light and fresh. and it smells yummy :) would definatly use again :)

the thing i liked about this conditioner was the packaging , its easy squeeze system you can get every bit of product unlike pump system . and it also smells nice .

I used this product a week (every second day ) and im highly dissapointed , it made my hair so dry and tangled and the conditioner deffiently didnt make it any smoother .

maybe you need to use the serum with it to get the full effect ?

First of all, I really liked the smell of this shampoo, it had a really nice fresh smell, which was reasonably subtle. This was a great shampoo though, I definitely didn’t have to use a huge amount to get a good lather, and for my hair (as it’s super long) this is pretty key for me. I definitely found that using this shampoo made my hair noticeably softer. However, I didn’t find that it reduced my frizz. Despite claiming on the bottle that it would reduce frizziness, this was not what I found. Given that the shampoo is meant to reduce frizz, this was quite disappointing. I liked that the bottle was nice and clear, because you can see exactly how much you’ve got left in the bottle.

I was very reluctant to believe that this product would tame my fly away hair so day 1 I didnt think much and lathered up my hair with it. Wow was I shocked. Instantly all I felt was soft and silky and just really clean before I had even washed it out. It definately did its job and it is already on my shopping list to replace this week in shopping. The smell and everything is just great and I really love it. Finally a shampoo that I like and likes my hair and does what it says Thanks so much :)

Okay so I will be honest and say I wasn't overly keen in taking part in this trial. I have really oily, straight hair that tends to go frizzy no matter what I do. I was definitely not keen on trying anything that was made using any of these fancy new oils either. I've recently given up using conditioner because I read if I had oily hair I wouldn't need to use it as frequently. So I was pleasantly surprised when this product actually worked for me. My hair feels so much smoother and I've noticed a definite reduction in frizz. It handles a lot better and looks a lot nicer too. I wash my hair every two to three days depending on my schedule and have noticed that it's not greasy during this time frame either. I also really enjoy the smell and the price from the supermarket isn't too bad either. Considering hair is dead I'm against spending massive amounts of money on my hair. Anything under $20 for both is awesome for me. The only draw back is that it does make my hair look greasy if I let it dry naturally rather than blow drying it. I'm really lazy with my hair and will leave it in a bun wet, which yes I'm aware is terrible for it, and it doesn't give it the nicest finish. I have to agree with the description and say for me it does what it says it's meant to do. Other than that I have no complaints with this product and will be changing my shampoo and conditioner range to this from now on.

This Shampoo has done wonders with my hair. Since using L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Smooth Intense Shampoo and Conditioner I have not straightened my hair once, I am in love with the tidy curls I have since using the shampoo and conditioner. With other products I would straighten my daily as I would have fly aways and just frizzy frizzy hair. I love how soft my hair feels and I believe it has helped with my dry ends. Only thing I found was I used twice as much conditioner as I did shampoo so as you can guess the conditioner is not lasting as long but this happens to me with all conditioners. I am definitely going to be purchasing L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Smooth Intense Shampoo and conditioner until I find something even better.
