Liquid Gold

I first tried this product years ago at a friends birthday. She had a brand new bottle and was raving about how amazing it was so I squirted it all over my hand and proceeded to turn my hair into a greasy mess. Fast forward to a smarter time and I now rate this product as the best that money can buy.

You only need a teeny tiny squirt into the palm of you hand to get amazing results. It smells absolutely divine and feels incredible. I use it when I'm freshly showered and my hair is still damp. I spread it through the mid lengths and ends of my hair while avoiding the roots. It makes my hair dry faster, it leaves it silky and smooth & it seriously repairs!

I notice a massive improvement in the condition of my hair after using this product and no other argan oil treatment I've found can compare.

I've heard from a few people that it's just a glorified product and I'd be better off buying pure argan oil but I disagree! Pure argan oil is hard to distribute evenly in my hair, it doesn't smell as good and it doesn't repair my hair like this does. I will always rate this as the best!

Top Pick!

Love love LOVE!! Not only does it smell delicious, it has done wonders for my hair. Many hair oils leave your hair looking greasy after applying even if you use such a tiny amount of product. Moroccan Oil would probably do the same if you used too much, how ever a little goes a long way with this product. I have terribly dry, coarse hair from bleaching and straightening it for many many years. I apply this after washing & drying, then pop a little more through once dry to tame the frizzies!

My hair literally drinks this product and looks amazing after using it

Tips: Don’t use too much!!!

some advice I got from a hair stylist

I've been using Moroccan oil for 3-4 years. Along with Moreish Argan oil, this oil is my cant-live-without oil. Admittedly, I was very skeptical at first. My hair can become very oily after a day (especially during summer and hot, humid weather) so thinking of applying oil really startles me. But one of my friends who is a professional hair stylist convinced me about its effect and show me how to use it. He showed my some tips:

1. Using as a conditional product: either mix it with shampoo or applying in between the two wash. It helps maintaining the moisture balance for hair yet prevents exceeded oil .

2. For styling, after dye or straightening, this oil can be used in the first 5 days or first week after treatment.

3. After blow dry, he advised me to put some in the palm and "heat" it up before applying to the hair. Imagine your hands are like big combs.

I never use hair conditioner as I stick with moroccan oil and argan oil. This product has an amazing effect to me, especially with the parts of hair that "suffers" because of chemical treatment. As I mixed oil with shampoo, I realise my hair is stronger and much less hair loss.

I agree this product is a little expensive, but the bottle is huge and it can last you for ages. The amazing scent is also a plus for me, always think of an expensive spa every time using this.

Fantastic review - that's amazing to me that you don't need to use conditioner. I love that you included the tips that your hair stylist friend shared, thanks! I definitely want to take the plunge and get this now.

I must be missing something...

Don't get me wrong, this IS a good product, but I just don't understand the hype about it (or the price tag!).

I received a trial size of this a couple of years ago, in a Beauty Box. I was quite stoked, it had just come out and was creating a real buzz in the Beauty world, so I felt privileged to be able to try it.

First up, my goodness, the scent is divine. A very subtle vanilla/cocoa fragrance.

I only need to use a very tiny amount, lightly combed through the mid lengths and ends of my hair (using my fingers).

I prefer to use this on my damp hair, and then blow dry and style afterwards.

I think it must be because my hair is so fine, that I just don't get the same results that others rave about. I love the idea of these types of products, but I'm yet to find one that doesn't leave me looking like an oil slick by the end of the day.

Because of the high price tag, and mediocre personal results, I wouldn't purchase this product.

Tips: Fine hair? Avoid your roots and use sparingly! Less is definitely more with this stuff.

Miracle Oil

I have very course, dry hair and this is a miracle oil, I have used it for about 3 months now and my hair is now in a lot better condition. I regularly colour and bleach my hair as I get bored of it the same colour for too long and hence my hair was in very bad condition, it basically was mush at the ends and dissolved into nothing. My hair dresser recommended this product to me and haven't looked back. I used to use a few treatments (mask, cream & a different oil) to try and help my hair now I only use this so although it is rather expensive in the long run I have saved money by not having to purchase multiple items I now only get the one product. The packaging is eye-catching and bottle has a cap or a pump, so can easily put the cap on to take away or for when it is staying at your home you can just leave the pump on. This is one product I will continue to use and will recommend to anyone.

Tips: Apply to towel dried hair then after it has been styled apply a small amount for extreme shine.

Good, but not the best!

I used to buy this product all the time - but the one downside for me that really turned me off was the price! Especially when there were so many other cheaper alternatives that have been working the same if not better for my hair.

But back to this product, I love the packaging of Moroccan Oil, the pump makes it so much easier to distribute and use product efficiently compared to when they didn't. Although the oil is quite thick compared to other products it is very easy to put through your hair and makes it feel really smooth. The smell of this oil is also amazing, which is a huge bonus for me!

Overall it's a great product, but there are definitely others that serve the same purpose for much cheaper, e.g. Loreal Mythic Oil.

Tips: A little bit goes a long way!

BEST!!

Definitly the best one out there. Makes hair super soft and sleek, it stops my hair from being frizzy where my chemical straighten grows out. I dislike how the bottle is glass how yes it looks pretty but carrying this in a bag I am worried that it will break. This is the most expensive on the the internet I think there are some others that are have the price and just only marginally behind in quality.

Tips: be careful not to use to much on the roots, Start from the ends and only apply a tiny pea amount at a time. Little goes a long way

I love my hair again!

I bought a sample of this after seeking advice from my hair dresser. I was sick of washing my hair every day and I would tie it up still wet with combing and end up with the worst birds nest as my hair is long, fine and colour treated. She suggested using this after I had washed my hair and I instantly noticed a huge change! My hair was softer, shiner and so much more manageable. I know only wash my hair once a week and have fallen in love with my hair again!!!

Tips: You only need the smallest amount of oil even for long hair, and it also smells delicious too.

Three bottles down, starting on No. 4

This stuff is my HG of hair treatment. Once a week, I like to get a bit generous and put loads of this into my hair at night to soak in and help knock the dryness out as going to the gym in the evenings means that sometimes I'll wash my hair twice a day, which I hate doing.

After being in LA for a month last year, my hair (and skin) went from being oily-ish to pretty dry. Nothing worked for my hair back home, except for this. It helped bring the moisture back and keep it.

This also helps curb the frizz on those humid auckland days.

Tips: Use AFTER heat styling. Not before. Ask your hairdresser for the bottles with the pump AND buy before Christmas when they run the best promotions ever!

Thank you so much for replying. Sooo, if I blowdry and then straighten, when should I apply the oil? I realise I could google it, but you sound like an expert! xx

@ChelseaAdelaide - it's okay for blow dry, but oil before apply straighteners equals death to your hair.

Is there a particular reason why you use it after heat styling? And would that include blow drying? xx

The beast is finally tame

I have lost count on the amount of hair brushes I have broken! If it was not for ghds and hair oils like Moroccan oil I would still be losing and snapping hair brushes in my rat nest.

A hairdresser told me that I needed to stop buying supermarket hair oils as they were more water based. I bit the bullet and bought this more expensive product. It really does the trick as it is a thick oil and gives my hair moisture and shine. Once straightened my hair halves in size and looks really good. I now have the confidence to wear it down, whereas before I would tie it up or wear it to the side.

The Moroccan oil is scented and I feel the less I use the less the smell bothers me.

Tips: If you are fed up with thick hair and are finding it hard to control do give this a try.
