I was lucky enough to be sent this product to be trialed. Overall, I like it but I don't love it.
Things I liked: I love the packaging and that it comes in a large container as it lasts AGES. I feel like I have hardly made a dent in it yet I have been using it every time I wash my hair! I also like the scent - the banana one is not overpowering (think almost banana fruit burst but not so intense). I LOVE that it is free of many nasties and that they explain on the side of the container what the ingredients mean (in actual English - not science-y English). Also love that you can use it as a conditioner, hair mask or styling product (helps to smooth down the frizziness a tad).
I also did like how it made my hair feel. It definitely kept it feeling soft. It didn't do anything noticeably amazing to the look of my hair though (not shiny and super smooth).
What I didn't like: I didn't dislike anything so much, simply it didn't make my hair look any different (despite feeling a little softer). No amazing curls (just my usual) or shiny-celebrity hair.
Overall, would buy again as it smells good, doesn't include a whole heap of nasty ingredients and is good value!
I enjoyed using the Banana Hair Food Mask, it felt like a treat for my hair and smelt amazing and I don't even like banana's! I should also add the smell lasts in your hair until the next wash, it is really quite fragrant so possibly not for you if you do not like strong fragrance.
My hair is long and is quite dry on the ends which are prone to splitting. I can see from using this product a few times now how much my hair has improved. It is much softer, and the ends definitely have more moisture. However I did not like this mask as a leave in conditioner and preferred to use it after conditioning my hair. I found the length of time I left it in without rinsing it out did not make a lot of difference to how my hair felt afterward. I used it more like an additional step in my regular shampooing and conditioning.
I like the large tub the product comes in, its different and enjoyable to scoop out a big dollop with your fingers and loving the main ingredients of banana, shea butter and coconut oil. All trending at the moment.
The product is of generous size and of 98% natural origin, I would recommend trying this if you have dry hair and in need of some hydration.
The mask comes in other flavors, aimed at doing different things. I am keen to try the Papaya Mask next!
Tips: Use weekly to give your thirsty ends a good drink. Winter is the perfect time to try this product as our hair is often dry and the sweet banana scent gives reference to the coming summer.
