On the fence

I love BB creams and prefer them over foundation for everyday, so I was excited to try out this one; I got it in the shade Medium.

Firstly, I was a little shocked by the colour when it came out of the tube. It is very dark (much darker than a 'medium' shade ought to be) and has an orangey/peachy hue. I was a little afraid to put it on my face! However, once rubbed it, the colour did blend away a bit, but it still left a bit of an orange cast.

The texture is quite thick and oily; not the most pleasant thing to rub on your face. It reminded me a bit of butter, but not in a good way. Because it was so greasy, it left my face looking rather shiny after I applied it. This subsided after it settled/absorbed a bit into my skin, but I still applied some powder over top since I tend to get oily during the day, concentration on the T-zone.

It has a nice light coverage and definitely made my skin look smoother, but doesn't cover any blemishes or under eye issues very well. So i feel that the 'Instantly perfect skin' claim on the box is a bit of an overstatement.

Overall, I don't mind this BB cream, but probably wouldn't purchase it again due to it's strange colouring and thick/greasy texture; I much prefer lighter and mattifying products.

Garnier BB Cream - Normal

I have been trialing this product over the past week and I must say I have been very impressed. The packaging doesn't particularly stand out to me but the product itself is very impressive. I don't have a lot of time to apply makeup etc so I found this cream to be a big timesaver. Easy to apply, quick and gave a good all round cover. I found it blended very well and evened out my skin tone. I would definitely buy this product again as it ticks all the boxes for me.

Tips: Over the course of the day, the coverage does tend to fade so I would reapply in the afternoon.

Impressed and surprised!

My skin is classified as normal, if anything it could be on the dry side, but most of the time is fine. I was amazed that you didn't need to use moisturizer before using this product. I had my doubts but it felt great. It is a nice fairly thick consistency and feels cool as you apply it which gives your face a refreshing feel. It gave me a surprisingly good coverage, better than what I had expected. I would happily wear this as my day make up, possibly not quite enough coverage if I was out at night. But it was correct on the label as it did say you can add a layer which is what I did one day. I would buy this again and the container it comes in is great as it sits upside down so it will help to get those last few mls out later!

Tips: Wait a few minutes before applying a second coat as it gives a better coverage than you think!

Bbbetter than just a tinted moisturiser

Hi all...ye, this product ain't that bad at all..it's majorly thick and creamy...a little goes quite a way...I don't usually like garnier because their products have such a strong purfume but this didn't! Also their product give me pimples but this didn't! I used with and without primer..I feel the primer intensified the colour. I doesn't cover, but it does disguise and kinda adds a fake tan look without face tanning or using bronzer coz my face is paler than my body. Also...when I didn't use primer before it, my skin would suck up the moisturiser when I did my night routine...so is this product moisturising?...maybe...maybe not...hard to really say. But I think it is definitely just a step better than a tinted moisture with terms of what is does and how it applies.

Tips: Try it with and without a primer

Garnier bb cream

I generally have oily skin but while pregnant my skin tends to dry out and get lots of break outs so I went with the normal skin type and light shade. The bb cream has a thick consistency, once blended it seemed to make my face look really shiney which I didn't like at all. In saying that I loved how once blended it felt really light on my face. It didn't cover my blemishes which was unfortunate as I have a few, I used a powder over top to hide those spots. Loved the fruity smell of it. It doesn't last all day and I did have to reapply but I didn't mind that as it felt refreshing to reapply with that yummy scent. The packaging is good just what I'd expect from a bb cream. Would recommend it to some one who is looking for a light coverage bb cream, for those days you don't feel like getting all your make up out. Overall good product would get it again.

Wonderful Product!

My skin is normal, I get the ocassional breakout or oilyness/dryness but my skin is classed as 'normal' however I do have red patches over my face and was keen to see what happened when I applied this product. It was good! It is a sheer cover and extremely easy to apply and had a creamy consistency. I applied it like normal moisturiser and didnt get any streaks etc. The cover wasnt quite enough for me unfortunatley so had to 'top up' with a bit of concealer under my eyes and red patches, however was a really good base. The product unfortuantley didnt stay on as long as I would have liked and did give me a bit of an oily finish but nothing major. Skin felt really moisturised with the product on. The packaging was really good, a reasonable sized squeezy tube, so product was easy to get out and there was no mess at all. I would recommend this product for around home, but not so much for going out.

BB Cream normal, medium

Being the mother to five boys, I find it hard time wise for any sort of beauty treat time for myself. So bb cream is a perfect product for me, I found it light and non-greasy, it wass fas absorbing and the coverage was very even although i did have to apply it twice. the only reason I have not brought it for myself is the price is abit high for my budget. But in saying that I still give BB Cream a 10 out of 10

Tips: Exfoliate and then apply, it leaves your skin baby soft

Garnier BB Cream

The consistency of the bb cream was quite thick yet creamy and I found that applying it and blending it with a brush gave the best end result for me.

I got the colour medium and that is usually a good colour match for me but this bb cream was a little too dark for me, I just applied a lighter coloured powder or foundation over the top, so wasn't too much of a big deal.

It was quite good at covering the majority of my blemishes and felt very light on my skin, so it would be good if you are looking for a no makeup feeling which still has good coverage.

Cons: My skin isn't normally sensitive but the product made me break out and also caused some dryness on my nose making it peel.

It's not a very long lasting product if you are only using it by itself, but definitely lasts longer with some powder over it to help it last. I wouldn't buy the 'normal' again but would definitely give the 'sensitive' one a try.

Tips: Apply and blend it with a face brush, has a better finish in my opinion =)

BB cream review

I have ' Normal ' skin and got the BB cream in 'LIGHT'

The packaging was ok nothing to fancy but explained everything I needed to know about the product.

When i first saw the colour of the cream I thought it was going to be to dark for my skin, but when I applied it it blended nicely and gave me a slight tan kind of look.

I tried it with and without primer under it. I preferred to have my primer on first before apply the BB cream as I found it went on more smoothly with the primer underneath.

The consistency of the cream was thick but when you apply it it goes on nice and smoothly and leaves a light feel on your skin. I found I only needed a small amount to colour my face, but found that the coverage itself wasn't enough for me so once it had dried I applied some more and found this to cover my blemishes better.

I found it didn't last as long as I would like it to, I found myself apply more in the afternoon.

I think the BB cream would be great for me during the day when I don't have time to put on a full face of makeup but I personally wouldn't be using it at night time as I would want more coverage, which this doesn't give me.

I tried applying it with both my finger & a brush and found that apply with a brush made it blend more evenly.

The smell is pleasant and not to over powering like some BB creams I have tried before.

I would recommend to anyone that doesn't have time to put on a full face of makeup and just wants to wear something light.

I think the price is good fair price compared to other BB creams I have brought in the last

Tips: Try using it with and without a primer to see which one you personally prefer, also trying using a brush to help blend it better.

Orange and Sheer

I have fairly normal/combination skin. The main things I look for in a BB cream or foundation are: buildable light-medium coverage, a good colour match for my pale skin, and even wear throughout the day. So I was super excited to get to trial this Garnier BB cream!

First impressions of this: it is a very thick cream, and it has a relatively strong fresh, slightly citrusy scent. Although the scent is initially quite strong, I didn’t notice it at all once I’d applied it.

I’ve tried applying this a few ways, including with a blending sponge and a buffing brush. However, I personally get the best finish with this using my fingers. The first time I used it I applied it to my bare face as the box suggested, but I found that it looked a bit noticeable around some dryer patches. I then used it over moisturiser, and then moisturiser and primer together. I think it looked most natural over the moisturiser and primer, so that was a bit disappointing given that this is meant to be an ‘all-in-one’ product.

The coverage and colour were disappointing for me. I got the shade ‘Light’, which is a shade or two too dark for me. It also has a very orange undertone, which is too orange for my (yellow-based) undertones. However, I can get away with using this…. because the coverage is basically non-existent. Well, that’s a bit of an exaggeration maybe. It is extremely sheer coverage, given the thick consistency, and it really doesn’t do anything except tint my skin slightly darker. However, it is buildable to a certain extent, and I found with using two layers I could get enough light coverage to slightly blur uneven skintone. I definitely have to use concealer with this, again disappointing for an ‘all-in-one’ claim.

In terms of lasting power, this is actually pretty good. Without using primer or powder (and I have been using powder most days to amp up the coverage a bit), I can get to about halfway through the day before my t-zone looks a wee bit shiny. With powder, I can wear this basically all day at uni and maybe blot my t-zone once. I do find it fades a bit around my nose without powder, but again, not a problem with powder.

I think that for the amount you get and need to use on a daily basis, the price is fairly reasonable. The tube is okay, although I have found that it gets quite messy around the opening. However, I wouldn’t repurchase this myself. I haven’t found any improvement in my skin, such as a boost in “natural glow and radiance” or “24 hour moisturising results” despite the claims on the box. In addition, I think the SPF15 rating is ridiculously low. Ultimately, the deciding factor for me is the colour match. I just don’t like the orange tinge, however subtle when sheered out, and the fact that it is slightly too dark makes it a pain to apply and blend out enough.

I would only recommend this to you if you’re not super pale, have yellow undertones, and want very sheer coverage.

Tips: Apply this, using your fingers, over moisturiser and use a light powder foundation to help with the coverage.
