Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation Review

I was one of the lucky ones chosen for a trial review. I have been using it for a week and a half now and my skin already feels softer. It says it takes 3 weeks to improve skin appearance and it seems to already be starting to take effect. It goes on very smoothly and gives me a great smooth looking skin tone. Since I have started using it I have received many compliments saying I look like I'm glowing. I am very pleased with this foundation, it is very light and lasts quite a long time. I work outside a lot and have hardly had to do touch ups. Overall I think this is a great foundation for me and would definitely use it again.

...but to be honest, I don't.

The one positive that I give this foundation is that it matches my skin perfectly. This is where the praise ends.

On first application I thought, yes, this foundation looks like it's going to be quite good. I started with a thin layer which wasn't enough to give me the full coverage I was after. I gave it another layer and definitely got the coverage I was after. Unfortunately as soon as it set on my skin, it also set in all the small lines around my eyes. No amount of blending changed this.

As for the claims that it's long lasting, it didn't last for me over a 9 hour period. I work in a bar where it can get quite hot and sweaty, so perhaps this was the reason why it wasn't as long lasting as it claimed to be.

Unsure as to how it hydrates the skin because on my skin, I found it to be quite drying, even with using a primer beforehand. Definitely gave me a matte finish.

As was the problem with another foundation, it could possibly be the moisturiser I am using before my make up routine (Essano Rosehip Moisturiser). I may give this another go using a different moisturiser and if it makes a difference I will change my review accordingly.

I am glad I tried it, but quite disappointed it didn't work for me. Thought it may have been a cheaper dupe for my favourite Nars Sheer Glow.

(Due to not using this foundation for 3 weeks, I am unable to comment on whether it improves the texture of my skin).

I've only been using the product a week, so I can't say if Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation's claim of giving me better skin in three weeks is true. However, Better Skin touts itself as a 'full coverage' foundation, and you can tell from the first swipe. This product will be my new go-to when my skin looks like dog meat - those days when I wake up and have a bright red zit on the end of my nose (like now), plus my ever-present sun spots. I applied Better Skin (in nude) and, whattdya know? The zit has vanished and sunspots are nearly invisible - without even using concealer (though I do, anyways, 'cause I'm compulsive like that). I appreciate a foundation with SPF 20 like Better Skin, since most I've seen are only SPF 15. One of the nice things about this foundation is its name - thanks, Maybelline for not calling it 'anti-aging' something-or-other.I'm not seeking to turn back the clock - only to achieve the appearance of better skin. Fait accompli (mission accomplished).

I was so excited to try this foundation, but unfortunately I have been disappointed. I did love how it went on easily and looked great when you have just finished doing your make-up, however I don't think the coverage lasted long enough. By the end of the day I felt like I was going home with no foundation on. Anyways I will continue to use it and see if it grows on me.

I tried this foundation for 3 days and really enjoyed it. It says better looking skin in 3 weeks and I will definatly continue using it to see the results. I found that it was a really nice consistency and the coverage was good for me - I like a fuller coverage. It did last all day although there was one day where I was really busy at work and I found it went a little bit greasy. That was easily fixed though with a little powder over the top. Usually my skin feels a little dry, I think it is the air on in my office but I didn't have that at all while using this foundation. It really felt like it was moisturising my face somewhat. Overall, this is definatly a foundation that I would use again and will be continuing using it to see if it really does give me better skin in the long run.

I was lucky enough to be selected to trial this product, at first to be honest I was skeptical as I usually use MAC foundation, but wholeyyyy am I loving this super stay better skin!! The colour perfectly matches my skin, infact I think it is the best colour match I have ever had! I used this product with a primer underneath and then powder over the top, and it stayed put all day, 7.45am application right through to a 6pm removal with absolutely no retouching, and being spring I have had shocking hayfever and have been blowing my nose A LOT, and yet still this foundation stayed put! My skin seems a lot less dry also after using it. I can put my hand on my heart and genuinely recomend this product! The coverage is just perfect and doesn't feel cakey at all. I have used it on both really warm days and raining days and haven't once looked in the mirror and thought oh no look at my makeup! So thank you so much beauty review for giving me a far cheaper, yet equally as good (if not better) foundation option.xx

I picked the shade 'Sand 030' and it was a perfect colour match on my skin.

I like the packaging, it's appealing to me. The bottle is glass and has a little blue plastic pump. I think the size of the foundation is good for it's price - a little goes a long way even though the foundation is a bit thicker than others I have tried.

The plastic pump makes it really easy to use, and is good so you control how much you get. About 2 pumps is enough to cover my face. The formula is a little thick so I think the best way to apply it is by using a flat top brush then a sponge so the foundation doesn't look streaky. It is lightweight and gives you medium to full coverage. I didn't even have to apply concealer, this foundation covered my blemishes and dark circles really well. This is now my go to foundation! But in saying that, I did have a dry patch on my face and I did find that it did look slightly cakey and flakey on that area. So I don't think it would be suitable for people with dry skin.

Overall, I love this foundation! I will be repurchasing once I eventually run out. It's a must buy :-)

I was a little dubious about trying this as I have quite dry skin, however, I am so happy I did! All day cover, fantastic pump bottle and amazing coverage. I did my usual morning moisturiser and slapped a small bit on to see how it went. Instantly I felt photoshopped, my skin looked amazing! It didn't feel heavy or dry, it was just what I had been looking for. No need for anything over it,I just added a bit of mascara and I looked like I was ready for a photo shoot :-D well, my face anyway haha!

So I was really excited to try this since I have a bit of trouble with foundation doing awful things to my skin (nothing really as dramatic as that sounds, just pimples (*gasp*)). The colour was good and the coverage was really great actually. It wasn't too heavy or cakey and I had no worries about wearing it all day at work. "Better Skin" seems like a good description in that it was better than other foundations. It was not, however better for my skin than wearing no makeup at all. All in all, if I really have to wear foundation, this one would probably be a good choice, but don't expect to go from wearing no foundation at all, to wearing this and having your skin improve.

I purchased this recently after seeing it advertised on the BR page recently so decided to give a go. I only buy foundations with SPF included so at SPF 20 this sounded perfect. I didn't notice any difference to the condition to my skin and this is a lot thicker than I am use to but I am so glad to finally have a foundation that lasts the day. Overall a great long lasting foundation
