Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation Review

I really do not enjoy this foundation! I find that it sits on my skin as appose to blending into my skin! Also has terrible lasting power on my combination skin, looks good when first applied but after a couple of hours it's gone patchy and worn off in some places! Will continue to use this foundation on days where i'm not fussed about the coverage or only going out for a short period of time! But overall, i would not recommend this foundation as there are better ones out there for a cheaper price

I've been using this for a couple of months now & it really has done nothing to improve my skin at all. I still have the mad zit breakout, my redness & uneveness is still the same as before. It doesn't even stay on all day & it sits weird on my face. It kind of goes a bit matte but then does some sort of weird blotchy thing in on my nose & around my eyes. I'm continuing to use it as I spent money on it & I hate waste but I will not be using it again.

I decided to give Maybelline foundation a go as I am in love with Maybelline's Mascara and eye shadows so I was hoping the foundation would be suitable. Unfortunately this foundation sat horribly on my skin and would not blend at all, it wore off quickly and in patches. I used this product twice and gave up and bought my usual foundation. I am disappointed as I have a near full bottle of this foundation that will never ever be used. In future I will stick to Maybelline eyeshadows and Mascara but definitely will not try their foundation again.

I tested the claims on this foundation thoroughly and found it to be awful. First of all the shade names as you'd normally find them in a foundation line (e.g. Ivory being one of the lightest) were totally whack. One of the Beige shades would've been better suited for my skintone but I went with True Ivory which was very orangey. I have combination skin and this emphasized both my pores and my dry patches like CRAZY. I didn't find it hydrating, "flawless" and it sure as heck didn't last all day. I kept a close eye on my skin over the 3 weeks where I used it and nothing else and found it did absolutely nothing. Overall I thought it was a huge fail and would not repurchase it ever again.

...but to be honest, I don't.

The one positive that I give this foundation is that it matches my skin perfectly. This is where the praise ends.

On first application I thought, yes, this foundation looks like it's going to be quite good. I started with a thin layer which wasn't enough to give me the full coverage I was after. I gave it another layer and definitely got the coverage I was after. Unfortunately as soon as it set on my skin, it also set in all the small lines around my eyes. No amount of blending changed this.

As for the claims that it's long lasting, it didn't last for me over a 9 hour period. I work in a bar where it can get quite hot and sweaty, so perhaps this was the reason why it wasn't as long lasting as it claimed to be.

Unsure as to how it hydrates the skin because on my skin, I found it to be quite drying, even with using a primer beforehand. Definitely gave me a matte finish.

As was the problem with another foundation, it could possibly be the moisturiser I am using before my make up routine (Essano Rosehip Moisturiser). I may give this another go using a different moisturiser and if it makes a difference I will change my review accordingly.

I am glad I tried it, but quite disappointed it didn't work for me. Thought it may have been a cheaper dupe for my favourite Nars Sheer Glow.

(Due to not using this foundation for 3 weeks, I am unable to comment on whether it improves the texture of my skin).

I was super excited to be chosen to be a part of this trial as I was interested in purchasing this product anyway due wanting to see if it was 'worth the hype'. I received this foundation in the shade 005 - Light Beige which is the lightest shade in this range. I find that this shade was a little too warm for my complexion but it wasn't too noticeable.

The packaging is very sturdy due to being made from glass or something similar and it has a blue plastic pump which I personally love as you can control the amount of product you need/want.

I have found that the formula is just right as it isn't too thick or too thin. I was quite surprised that this foundation only gave me minimal coverage as it hardly covered up my redness which is pretty minimal. However, I do like this foundation for a natural, everyday base as I can still see my skin coming through. I have found that this foundation is easy to blend and also the finish is different as it isn't completely matte and it isn't completely dewy. I have found for my normal skin this foundation lasts all day before having to get re-touched. I was very disappointed with the coverage as it did promise/state medium-full coverage. Note: I was trialing this product on its own without concealer or powder.

I have found that this product isn't exactly what I am looking for and doubt that I will ever actually reach for this. I have found that the pricing isn't exactly the cheapest and it doesn't cater for many skintones.

I was very excited that finally a product on the market was good for your skin, long wearing, good coverage and not overly expensive... I have even skin with little problems in pimples or oil an yet I could not keep this product on my skin. I actually found it felt a bit oily for my skin an when looking in the mirror a couple of hours after application it had gone patchy on my chin area. The price was good the colour I chose was sand and that was a good match its just a shame the product didn't stay on. The coverage when applied was perfect for what I like. If only it would stay put !!!

I have hardly had the pleasure of even trying this product. I was at the warehouse and a representative was there offering to apply the product. She tried to match me but found even the lightest shade was 100x too dark for my skin which is pale but not extremely pale. I am disappointed as I really wanted to try this foundation but I can't until hopefully they bring out some more shades.
