Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream Review

I'm not usually a fan on BB creams, especially at my age as I'm usually looking for a full coverage foundation, however I bit the bullet and gave it a go! It was a mousse like texture which I wasn't at FIRST impressed with (only due to a mousse foundation I tried and disliked) however, after applying the Garnier BB Cream I was surprised at how a little goes a long way! The coverage was great! And also the long lasting wear of the makeup, I usually touch up a few times during the day, where I only touched up once! It wasn't heavy on my face yet I felt covered! Loved the smell, not like most foundations.. I would recommend this on a daily basis however I would still go for my usual brand for night wear or special occasions, where one would opt for a more made up look, but if your not one to wear a lot of make up usually, I recommend this for you. Safe to say I'll be using this brand of BB Cream for my day wear in future and shall be purchasing this for my daughters as opposed to other BB Cream brands! And might I add, my face didn't feel as dry as it can be at times, sometimes I get a little dry around the nose area so extra care is needed in face care, I've found I haven't yet had to pay extra attention to the area since using this foundation so I'm very pleased with that also!

This product isn't really on my favourites list, I find it too greasy and shiny for my liking. Coverage is light and natural and while the shade is good, it does tend to feel like I want to scrape it off with my nails. Didn't stay on very well either. Not a terrible product for a supermarket brand, but not one I will be likely to try again.

Being a BB cream version, I wasn't sure what to expect. I knew it would be sheer coverage but that was about it. I would say my skin is fairly normal, not dry and not oily. The first time I used this, though the BB cream really irritated my left eye to the point where it was stinging and watering. The next time I used it, I still got a reaction, just not as severe. However I persisted. The consistency is thicker than some of the others I have seen, but it was easy to apply. I used my fingers and it blended well. The colour also seemed quite dark, at least for a light shade, however it matched my skin tone well. I did see a difference when I was wearing it, however sometimes it felt quite clay-ey at times. I think it does do as it says it will. I will move to the sensitive skin one next though due to the reaction I had with the cream.

My first time using any BB cream and im pleased with the results. The medium shade was a little dark for me but I found it blended easy and smoothly anyway. Nice and light for lazy days, stayed on well for me but found myself putting on a second layer throughout the day. Didnt find it too oily for my skin.

The Garnier BB cream has a thickish consistency but is extremely spreadable. A small amount will go a long way. I really liked the coverage it provided - during the week I would use it as a primer under my foundation and in the weekend I would use it on it's own for a more natural look. It evened out my skin tone nicely and gave me a slightly tanned glow. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that it made my skin look really shiny and oily (I would consider my skin normal). I have subsequently tried the oil-free version and like it a lot better (see my other review). Packaging is nice and I liked the easy squeeze tube.

This was my first time using a BB cream. I have fairly normal skin, so chose the normal. I tried this with moisturiser, with primer, on its own, with powder. Also I applied it with my fingers, with a sponge, and with a brush. My favourite was with a primer, using my fingers, and a light dusting of powder to set. It has quite a natural / dewy finish, sometimes I found it wearing off towards the end of the day, but using powder definitely helped with that. It has a light to medium coverage on me, quite natural looking, which is nice for a change as I usually wear a full coverage foundation. The scent is light and fresh. The packaging is very simple, but easy to use. The price seems quite reasonable, I think I will purchase this again.

I have tried some BB creams (mainly Korean ones), Garnier BB cream is light and very easy to spread out. It also has a pleasant scent and unlike some other BB creams I have tried, it is natural and not cakey. It is perfect for weekends or the days when you don't want to wear make up. I have some acne scars, I wear some concealer over the BB cream to give more coverage.

I used the BB cream over a week. On the first application I found the smell a typical Garnier smell. I find a lot of their products have their own branded fragrance. On application all week I thought it was quite oily. It gave my skin a very shiny look. Although after 30minutes and two applications it seems to soak in and hydrate my skin. The cream after two applications gave medium coverage, it didn't quite hide my freckles.

I was a bit sceptical at first using this product but I must say, I love it.

Ease of use is amazing, if you are in a rush just slap it on as you do your normal moisturiser and off you go. I tend to like a little more coverage so would apply two layers.

For an even better coverage, I found setting with a powder helped the creams staying power. For me, I have issues with even foundations staying put and I cant say this cream was any different, I definitely didn't have the coverage on my face at the end of the day as the beginning but there was still enough on to be passable (at least by my standards).

The only other issues I found, was that like a moisturiser, it took a little bit to dry/set but other than that...no complaints!

While I don't think it will ever replace my foundation, for days when I am in a hurry or just need a little coverage its perfect and so so quick and easy to use!
