Revitanail by Manicare Nail Strengthener Review

Before trialing the Revitanail Nail Strengthener I had paper-thin, weak, brittle nails. I had tried so many nail strengthening polishes that I'd lost count. Understandably I was pretty sceptical and expected the Revitanail Nail Strengthener to be much like the many others I have since binned... Thankfully not! As soon as I had applied two coats and it had completely dried, I noticed that my nails felt stronger. The treatment has a lovely shine to it which lasted over a week. It didn't chip at all during that time, but I decided to remove it to see if my nails actually felt any different, or if it was just a hardy polish making them feel that way. After removing it my nails still felt really strong! I have now had nothing on my nails for a week and they still feel great! They are even growing which is completely un-heard of for me because they usually break before they have a chance to grow!

Finally I have found an affordable, easy to use treatment which actually works! It has absolutely transformed my nails!!

After using the product for just a few days, it was noticeable that the ridges in my nails were decreasing. The results seem to be long-term and my nails still look healthier than ever.

I agree with the product's claim that it protects against dehydration. I used a spa which dehydrated my nails terribly, but after using the product, my nails were back to their hydrated self.

Since using this product, I have not had any nail breaks. I think the product strengthened my nails which helped this. Additionally, my nails seem to be grow faster.

The bottle was bigger than I expected at 30mL, so I believe it will last a while.

The product is very easy to apply and dries quickly. It was not a hassle to have to reapply every day for a week.

The product is clear and gives nails a nice shine to it. It also smells like normal nail polish but the smell is stronger.

The biggest downside, in my opinion, is that if you follow the instructions, that's a lot time you can't use nail polish. For polish addicts (like me), this makes it hard to use the product as intended. Particularly if your nails look damaged, it's hard to show them to the world! However, the results are worth it and I recommend the product.

I received this as part of a trial which I was very happy to be on since my nails had been weak and splitting. I believe this retails for around $30 at Farmers. The treatment requires about a one month commitment and you will need to apply it daily with removal and reapplication a few times throughout the treatment time. I started with trimmed and filed nails on both hands in order to remove the splitting that was happening at the top of my nail.

First, the packaging is quite nice. It comes in It's own little box and I was expecting the bottle to be about the size of an average nail polish bottle but it was actually quite a bit bigger which was a nice surprise. The bottle is square shaped and has the typical applicator brush. The brush is a high quality one which makes it very easy to apply the product very smoothly.

Second, the formula itself is a nice consistency - not too thick or not too thin. It's a clear polish which actually makes your nails look really nice which is another bonus. i thought that after a few coats it would start to look really thick on your nails bit it doesn't at all. This stuff smells very strong and I found it a lot stronger than most regular polishes. It dries very quickly so you can go on with your day in just a few minutes.

Did it work for me? Kind of. It definitely made my nails grow faster and stronger. By the last day I could feel that they wouldn't bend or break at the tips which was great. Unfortunately my nail beds looked quite dry at the end of the treatment and some of my nails are actually flaking now. Perhaps the formula just didn't suit me so I wouldn't let this deter others from trying if when your nails need some attention. I personally found the length of time that it took for this treatment a bit too long but others may not. I'm undecided on whether I would use it again basically because the pros and cons are pretty much equal in my case. If you have really weak nails though I would definitely give it a try.

This trail came at the right time for me due to my nails being in a really bad condition due to recent gel polish. My nails were flaking, cracking and breaking.

After the first week of applying everyday when I removed the polish I noticed that my nails were alot smoother than at the beginning. I completed the 3 week program which is apply 2 coats on the first day then 1 coat everyday for 5 days and on the 7th day remove and start over again. I have definitely seen an improvement in the condition of my nails, they are alot smoother and not cracking. Nicely packaged and a great sized bottle that will last quite awhile. This product was easy to apply and was a great consistency, quite a strong smell which was a bit stronger than normal nail polish. It is a clear polish and nails looked good all day. I liked that it dried very fast so didn't have to worry about having to sit still for too long.

Pros: Dries really fast; nails always look shiny

Cons: A really long process -two coats at first, then a coat every day for 7 days, remove, repeat, remove, repeat.... for 28 days. It really had to become a part of my routine to paint my nails each day!!

My nails feel harder with the polish on, but can't say I've noticed all that much difference in strength over the month long process. They still split when they grow past the finger tip!

Also quite difficult to remove with standard nail polish remover (that is probably why they sell their own remover....)

An interesting experiment but not sure I'd pay the $40 for a bottle - may as well have just worn a standard base/top coat or gotten shellacs!

Edit: i take it back! A week later and my nails feel so much stronger - I spent a day putting 70 certificates into wooden frames and had hardly any damage to my nails from using them to lift the metal tabs! Perhaps it just takes a few days post-process for the strong feeling to become obvious? They sure feel solid now!

I was lucky enough to be sent a full size sample of this product to review and honestly, I truely think it is amazing and would definitely be worth the $$$! I love that you get a huge amount of product, so value for money!

I have been a nail biter basically since birth and recently i've been trying to kick the habit. I was doing really well with not biting but my nails were still short because they were so weak :( They get to the point where they start splintering also (like a split end) which was horrible and obviously made them more likely to snap!

But since trying this product I have to say this has definitely changed. I noticed the difference with the first application, they already felt stronger! It did chip away at the top of my nails but since you top it up daily this wasn't that big of a deal - I'm not sure if this effects the result of the product but i didn't notice a difference. It also doesn't have an over powering scent which i really like about it.

After using it for 3-4 weeks like the product suggests i have definitely noticed a difference in the overall strength of my nails and i can tell its not a superficial layer. My nail's use to bend because they were soooo weak but now they actually feel pretty solid which i'm loving!

The only i can fault for this product is the packaging, the plastic brush bit has detached from the cap which means that the brush gets stuck in the bottle and it's difficult and messy to remove :( Hopefully this isn't a regular thing and mine was a one off. I guess it's nothing a little bit of glue wouldnt fix.

I really can't wait to use this more and i will update in the future!

I have very weak nails and this is only the second strengthener I've tried that I've been satisfied with, my nails actually manage to grow to a nice length while using this. It works as a base coat too, or if you just have it on alone it still has that nice shine. Another thing I really liked about it is that it dries fast, in literally seconds. Unlike regular polish. This doesn't affect its quality of course, but I like that it's a much bigger bottle than most, but still affordable, it's going to last ages which is good because I use strengtheners a lot.

I love this product. Why? well it is easy to apply even if a little strong on smell, makes your nails look taken care of and when reapplying it goes on easily and smoothly, without fuss. I found having to reapply daily no hassle at all because it was so quick to apply and it dried super fast. My nails looked great and after the 4 weeks they are much stronger and longer without the splitting I used to face. Overall this is a fabulous product and it delivers.

I was really happy when I got selected to trail Revitanail nail strengthener. This product definitely worked wonders for my nails. I have really week nails and it takes forever to grow and getting gel done does make it worse. Revitanail comes is a decent 30ml size bottle. You have a nice clear shine on your nails after application. It dried out easily and didn't really become to thick as I had thought it would get due to the number of reapplication. I have used this for the past 2 and a half weeks and OMG this product has done exactly what it says it will do. I applied this everyday for 5 days the first week and took it offthe 6th day and waited 2 days to apply them again for the second week. However I did forget to apply it everyday the second week so I did miss a few days in between, nevertheless the results are still amazing. My nails look and feel healthy and has grown without chipping or splitting. My nails stopped spilting after the first week of using this. The on,y negative for me was the strong smell while you apply the polish but it's nothing major and the smell does not linger. I would definitely recommend Revitanail. A real treat for damaged nails.

Revitanail Nail Strengthener is a clear varnish used to strengthen and improve the condition of your nails. It comes in a very large bottle, 30ml the size of a standard foundation, which is a major plus. It has a strong scent which dissipates when dry, drying time is quick, a lot faster than a regular nail polish. Unfortunately the process is long, it's not a quick fix, in total the process takes 3 weeks of a coat everyday, and then ongoing maintenance every other week. This process proved way to excessive for me hence my title, Not my jam. It also meant no nice nail colour in that time. I have relatively normal nails, I keep them short and I honestly didn't notice enough of a difference for me to recommend the product. I would say however if you have trouble with your nails it's worth a shot especially if they have been damaged from gels or acrylics or you want them long.
