When the Essence brand had first launched at Farmers, I was a bit skeptical about such a cheap brand. But one day, I was desperate for some new nail polish colours, and ended up buying a red, nude and a pale pink. Firstly, they have covered all the base colours, which is lovely, and sometimes, they will bring out different colours with their themes. The bottles are a decent size, not too big but not too small, and consist with the standard plastic lid with brush, and a glass bottle. The brush itself is pretty average to be honest- the brush end is flat, the application is not amazing, although I suppose I'm no expert myself- I do find that more expensive polishes have brushes which are shaped in ways which are easier to manouver.
The formula itself varies between the colour- my pale pink polish only requires two coats, and can look smooth and shiny (with a top coat), whereas the other two require three coats. But that's no big deal for me really, just takes a bit longer to dry.
I recently discovered an Essence stand at my local Farmers and I was so excited! Finally we are getting more affordable brands. Also a brand that I have heard readily praised on Youtube.
First of all the colour range is fantastic! There is definitely a colour option there for everyone, from glittery polishes to pinks, blues, reds, naturals and teals. I opted for a darker cherry hue.
The formula is really nice, just right id say, not to thick, not to thin. It applies smoothly and evenly and its quite opaque, two coats gives you the perfect colour payoff.
It dries quickly and wears fairly well, not quite as long as other nail polish brands I own but for the price that doesn't worry me.
I'd happily own them all xo
Tips: Use with a base and top coat for longer wear
