Lip stain that goes on liquid and dries completely matte. Touch-proof, long-wearing, and utterly addictive!

Velentine Velvetines

When winter came the brown and black Smokey eye and dark red lipstick was trending a lot! I brought the wicked Velvetine and fell in love. the colour is amazing and the texture is sooo soft and creamy. After about 5 minutes the lip stain set into a matte finish and lasted all day long. After I got wicked I brought Red Velvet, Pink Velvet and recently Utopia. The packaging is very cute with colourful roses. The product also smells great and has very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for great lip products.

Tips: Use some lip moisturizer before hand to get a shiner look.

Wicked!

Matte lipstick is my favourite finish on a lipstick. I have tried other brands of liquid matte lipsticks, but decided to take the plunge and try one of these.

I got the shade 'wicked', which is the most beautiful deep red shade (it is somewhat reminiscent of venous blood haha).

The packaging is nice - although I kind of wish it had the sparkly unicorns that the opaque lipsticks have. The lid has roses on it, which is pretty, and I love that the tube where the lipstick is, is frosted. It looks expensive and feels like good quality and very sturdy.

The first thing that I noticed when I opened it, was that the doe foot applicator is smaller than other brands of lip products. I actually quite like this as it makes it very easy to line the lips precisely.

As with other Lime Crime products, this has a light vanilla scent to it, which is pleasant and not at all overpowering.

In terms of the pigmentation of this - it gets 10/10. It is SO pigmented, which means you don't have to use a lot of product to cover your lips. It dries fairly quickly and, once dried, it has a beautiful velvet looking matte finish. It is very, very matte - so if you want a slight sheen or gloss when wearing this then you will need to put a lip gloss over the top of it.

These last a long, long time on your lips without moving or fading - unless you eat or get drink on them. If I don't eat and am careful with drinking, I can get about 6-7 hours of wear out of this before touching it up. If I eat, however, the product does degrade a little where food has touched my lips, so I take this with me if I plan to eat.

Because they are super matte they can be a little drying, although I personally don't mind this as I love the staying power. However, if dry lips are something you abhor, read my tips below on how to avoid that when wearing this :) You don't have to use a lip liner when wearing these, however I like to as when it starts to wear off it tends to bleed a little around the corners of my mouth.

Overall I absolutely adore this and very much want to get Salem, Suedeberry and Red Velvet to add to my collection. The colour Wicked is the perfect shade for vampy lips and I always get complimented when wearing it. It's one of my favourite ever lipsticks and I highly recommend it!

Tips: To avoid dry lips, I exfoliate my lips before using this. Then I apply a moisturising lip balm after exfoliating while doing the rest of my makeup.

After my face is done, I gently wipe off the lip balm and apply the Velvetine. This makes my lips feel hydrated and doesn't affect the wear time of the Velvetine whatsoever.

Need the lot!!

I've been wanting to try Velvetines for so long now but just never ended up purchasing one before as they're quite pricey for a lip stain/stick. I was very very kindly gifted one by a fellow BR member (thank-you very much!!) in the shade Pink Velvet and I absolutely LOVE it! I wish I hadn't waited so long to try these, they seriously are amazing!

The packaging is nice, a red rosy lid and frosted tube so you can see the product inside. It's a doe-foot applicator which I was nervous to use at first but it actually allows for a really smooth line if you take the time. It has a little 'neck' at the top of the tube so excess product is wiped off when you pull the applicator out which is really nice - it leaves it with the perfect amount of product for a whole lip application on it. No dunking in and out of the tube 10 times to cover the lips!

The formula is suuper smooth and seriously opaque! One thin layer is all that's needed for full cover for me, and my lips are quite dark so show through most lipsticks.

It drys matte but is one of the more comfortable matte's I've ever worn and it doesn't look drying on the lips. I have extremely dry/chapped lips and struggle to wear most lipsticks because of it but these look great on me.

The staying power on these is amazing and I think my favourite part about these is that they don't transfer!! No bright pink lipstick in my hair or on my teeth or my jumper etc - awesome!

I don't have anything else this crazy bright pink and was a little nervous to wear it but I actually love the colour

I like that these are matte too because you can leave them matte or add some gloss depending on what you feel like that day

Basically these are super awesome and I've just spent my food money for the week on two more of these things in the shades Wicked and Utopia so cannot wait to try these ones out too!

Tips: I've generally stayed away from matte lipsticks because my lips are already super dry but I find if you apply balm before these they are fine - you can also lightly tap balm over top as well after they've dried.

New Love!

I brought this because I had seen so many good reviews about it. I was a little worried that the colour I chose (Utopia - A pretty purple-pink) wouldn't suit me. But I needn't have worried. It is so pretty on me!

It comes in a gorgeous box. I pulled it out and fell in love with the container; which is frosted and just so pretty!

You apply the lippy they way you would a lip gloss. It does feel a little weird applying it for the first time because it is a matte formula. The only way I can describe it is that it feels wet.. yet dry at the same time??? It is super opaque and I only needed one coat/application to cover my lips. I found that it had a lot of staying power... until I started eating (which is, let's face it... to be expected). It wasn't til I went to reapply that I found it didn't really go on my lips well like it did the first time I applied. It kind of made a crust over the lippy that was already on my lips. That was probably my only disappointment with this lippy.

Other than that, it is completely and utterly beautiful!!! I seriously believe Utopia would suit any woman! Even my mum loves it on her lips!

Tips: Definitely prime your lips with a lip scrub and lip balm before using. Don't use if your lips are flaky. Try to avoid circumstances where re-applying is inevitable.

My fave lipstick ever!

OMG I dont wear lipstick everyday but when I do I want one that does what it says, and this ones does! I was so impressed, I had never heard of the brand before but my friend introduced me to it and now i am addicted! It goes on wet but dries to MATT and STAYS on all day or all night. I was truly amazed by this brand that my friend introduced me to. I love the colour that I bought, it stays bright throughout the day/night without fading.

I hope they bring out more summer colours as I am in love with the Pink Velvet one so far!

Pink Velvetine

The packaging is absolutely stunning with gorgeous roses on the lid and clear tube so you can see the product inside.

It has a doe foot applicator which I prefer to use.

I was given a couple of tips when given this which were to use a nude lip liner as this lipstick can sometimes bleed. The second tip was to apply bit by bit as it's highly pigmentated.

I actually haven't needed to use a lip liner as I find it doesn't bleed for me but I definitely follow the second tip I received, this gorgeous pink is so strong in colour, very bright and I only use a very small amount which means that the product will last a long time so is fantastic value for money.

My first time wearing it, my lips felt extremely dry. This was my first time ever wearing a matte lippy so thought I'd bare with it. I no longer feel like my lips are dry but suggest that you apply a lipbalm beforehand and see if that makes a difference?

I was completely gobsmacked when four hours later at lunch (when id normally reapply my lippy) my lips were still perfect....wow...and then a further two hours later is was still there staring at me through the mirror! Holy moly! After six hours, it had only come off in the corners of my mouth and inner lip area. This lippy has the most amazing staying power! EVER

Ive noticed over time that it doesn't transfer on to my coffee cup at all but comes off fairly easily if im eating something hot or greasy like hot chips etc

am I happy with this lipstick? YES would I recommend it? YES

Expensive but unique

I bought the colour Wicked and LOVE it! I never had a matte lipstick so matte. The staying power is unreal - oily foods are about the only thing to make it budge and even then it has good staying power. I get hours and hours out of this thing. The only downside for me would be the colour range - Wicked it super vampy (don't get me wrong I love it, but I have darker skin and am lucky to pull it off where a lot of my friends could not) and the others are super bold too. I guess that is what Lime Crime is about, but for such a long wearing formula I think something more daytime/work appropriate would be nice.

Tips: Make sure to apply on clean and smooth supple lips as this can be drying. And be extra careful to stay within your lipline when applying because fixing mistakes can get messy!

Prime before you 'Crime'.

I was lucky enough to be gifted Lime Crime Utopia by one of the beautiful BRAs - and I was SOOOO excited! I've always wanted to try one, but my wish list is insane and it kept being pushed down the list by other 'must haves'.

First of all, I adore the packaging - it's so fun and funky, but still manages to look like a luxury product. But is it as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside? Absolutely. I love the liquid formula. It went on easily, although you do have to be careful as it can bleed a bit on older lips, and if you go over your intended lip line it can be a mission to fix. The first time I nailed it, but since then I've had to have a couple of goes each time I wore it. It doesn't take long to dry and after that it's stuck on your lips. Seriously! I smooched my wee girl and she didn't have a mark on her. There were marks on my coffee cup, but it didn't translate to a loss of colour on my lips. Amazing!!

So did it last for long? Yes. It easily went four hours before I wanted to give it a wee touch up. But that being said, my experience did change on different days. On the days where my lips were smooth and hydrated, the Lime Crime stayed on longer and looked fresher, and when I did reapply it applied nicely. However on days where I'd forgotten to exfoliate and moisturise my lips it looked quite cakey and dry rather quickly.

That being said I would still recommend - if you're not one for fussing about with your lips after the initial application, this is a winner!

Tips: BR have taught us it's a crime not to prime, and the same goes for this product. It's a crime not to prime before you apply Lime Crime.

Lime Crime Velvetines

I was initially going to purchase pink velvet but I ended up buying Suedeberry and I LOVE IT! Firstly I love the smell, it's not too sweet or anything. Secondly I love the formula. It's thinner than what I thought it would be but it makes it easier to put on your lips. Suedeberry is such a pretty shade and once it goes on your lips it is seriously hard to get off. Also, like everything from Lime Crime, the packaging for these is STUNNING. 100% recommend these for every lipstick enthusiast.

Not Sure If I Love It To Bits

I was really excited to buy my very first Velvetine, my very first Lime Crime after wanting it for months on end! So, a month ago I caved and bought myself Red Velvet. At $30 it's really expensive for a lip product in my opinion, and I might have expected miracles as everyone raved about it.

The packaging is beautiful, yes, and the product inside smells lovely, and it's Lime Crime, I mean, what's not to love?

Pro's: It's beautifully packaged, it's luxurious. It stands out from the crowd of red lippy wearers. It's a smooth formula. It doesn't bleed.

Con's: You can't build the colour. Once it's set, you can't patch it. If you lick your lips or anytime when your lips are wet, the colour rubs off ie when you're eating a burger, drinking coffee, etc. It does make your lips dry, and shows your dry lips off to everyone if you don't moisturise them first ie. use lipbalm.

I don't know if I'm completely sold though, yes it's a great colour and a great lipstick, but I think the hype over these were maybe too big and ultimately it was a let down because it didn't exactly do everything that everyone claimed.

Will I repurchase? I might buy another colour and see if I like it.

Tips: Don't lick your lips, or rub them as the colour will come off. Try to keep your lips dry for it to last longer.
