i love collecting OPI its kinda my thing now. colours are awesome and turn out how they look in the bottle. But if you want your colour to last and not chip, you have to buy to good base and top coats, you wont regret buying them.

OPI Nail Lacquer Review
Reviews
Tips: spend the money on a good base and top coat. you wont regret it.
Some of higher colours and finishes are great. I'm quite impatient with nails and tend to use quick-drying formulas, so I don't get to use my OPI as often as I'd like. The names are very cute and quirky though!
The nail polish is brilliant! Glides on and doesnt dry very fast meaning its easier to get a clean look without the time factor. Once applied it didnt take to long to dry and become tacky which is brilliant! The brush brisstles are amazing and of a high quality. I wasnt a fan to much of the colour and probably wouldnt choose the colour again but would use this brand over any $2 job anyday. The colour however is very rich and seems to take a dark tone looking rather brown on my skin however I am rather olive but on my daughter whom is rather pale look a reder look.
Would def reccomend OPI as a nail techician myself I work with OPI anyway and own most of the range however would back them 100% as a top quality product
Tips: being a dark colour make sure you apply a base to protect your nail from staining and turning yellow and buff prior to applying base to get a longer lasting colour. Also making sure to have a top coat to seal the colour and minimise te chase of chip and to seal the free edge.... along the edge of the nail to once again avoid chipping and making your colour last longer
I do enjoy opi, however I work at subway and my nails chip constantly so I've picked up a few tips to help them last longer.
Tips: firstly, apply thin coats REALLY UBER THIN! then wet your nails, then do the second coat. secondly, if it doesn't bother you, cut your nails quite short, it helps with not chipping and defiantly last longer. I'm yet to try a base and top coat, 1 because their pricey, 2 because im lazy hehe. xx
What can I say - I am an OPI convert. I LOVE all the ones that I own. Their colour range is fabulous - there really is a colour for every occasion. The names they give the colours are great and their mini collections are really cute.
Don't get me wrong, I do not think they are worth their retail value. Some of the colours seem a better consistency than others and really, some other brands are just as good.
But for me, I buy them when they are on sale and I personally just love the colour range they have. As I said prior, some go on better than others but you will get this with any nail polish range. Likewise some require more coats than others, but again you will find this with any nail polish range.
Overall, OPI is my favourite nail polish brand - but only when they are on sale. Best colours, good quality but the price is a little up there for me personally.
Tips: Shop around - there is often a sale on either in-store or online somewhere. Google image search the colour swatch as many of the colours look really different on than in the bottle!
OPI - synonymous with "quality"
I've used OPI nail polishes for years & I have very few complaints! The colour selection is fantastic (although there are still a few colour variations that they never seem to get right in my opinion)
The collections that they come out with are usually beautiful, my absolute favourite was the Pirates of the Caribbean Collection . The colours were simply beautiful (think sea-foam green & gorgeous purples)
The few misses that I've had with OPI include the dreadful "shatter" polishes. Awful & tacky, they should never have seen the light of day! + every so often I'll purchase a beautiful looking colour only to find that it's so sheer that even after 4 or 5 coats I can still see my natural nail beneath several streaky layers =(
OPI does fantastic glitter polishes, they are super long lasting & stunning.
If I had to choose a favourite polish brand OPI would not be my first choice, if you had asked me several years ago I would have shouted its praises all over town but not so much anymore thanks to brands such as China Glaze, Essie & Orly. All of which surpass OPI in terms of quality, colour selection & longevity =)
Tips: Steer clear of OPI polishes at the big bucket sales/make up and perfume sales - they are often knock offs! Stick to purchasing them Farmers or pharmacies
As a brand I love OPI, I was gifted the Top 10 minis Gift Set and have used every single colour. They last at least a week without chipping and I am IN LOVE with their nude shades. Can't fault!
Tips: Use a top and base coat to ensure a long lasting result
Too dull for me - loved the colour, but I bought it wanting a really gold-y gold. It didn't look right with my gold accessories for the evening. Would wear again, but not with other gold in my outfit. More a casual gold, if that's a thing.
Probably the best thing about OPI is their vast selection of colours and various finishes! the bottles are a nice size, the brush is comfortable to hold and applies really well over the nail. Application really depends on the shade and I have found the polishes I own dry reasonably quickly which is a big thing for me. I don't buy these at full price, although the polishes are lovely I don't think they WOW for the most part.
Tips: When it comes to a splurge on nails, I think you'd be better to invest in a nice topcoat like Seche Vite which penetrates all of your polish layers, turning it into one solid layer that dries quickly and solid.
I've tried a few different colours from OPI and I think their selection is amazing but I don't think the quality throughout the whole range is overly consistent.
Some colours I've tried are awesome and have amazing lasting power, but some end up peeling completely off my nails by the second day of wear.
An awesome positive to OPI that i've found is that none of them have stained my nails, which is amazing. Almost all nail polishes apart from OPI will stain my nails and I hate that, so avoiding stained nails is a big thing for me (especially when i'm so bad at remembering to use a base coat).
I would totally recommend people trying these out, it's worth it for the colours and selection, just not always the lasting power - but everybody's different and may have amazing results with each one they try :)
Tips: Base and top coat ;)
