OPI Nail Lacquer Review
Reviews
I am so very impressed with OPI's quality and color range. It was hard for me to justify spending $25 on a nail polish, but I am SO glad I did! It lasts and is so easy to apply.
I was using cheap brands before this and when I first tried OPI I have NEVER bought another cheap nail polish. It's not worth it! Now to save up to collect all the gorgeous colors!
I've always used opi, awesome brand and awesome product :) As snail technician I have used a lot of different polishes and brands and opi never fails me :) Easy to use, easy to apply and awesome quality!
Never fails me! Highly recommended! For anyone weather it's at home, salon, easy for anyone experienced or not :) Also their colour range is amazing! For any occasion there's always, always a colour to match :D
One of the main reasons I find myself always returning to OPI nail polishes is the absolutly huge range of colours. If theres something specific that you want, say a colour to match a dress for a special occasion I would much rather spend the money and get an OPI rather than hunt through the stores for hours looking for just the right colour in another brand. Generally I have trouble with nail polishes chipping very quickly after I apply them despite using a top coat and base coat, which is so so frustrating, and I do find that OPI lasts a wee bit longer without the chips than less expensive brands. Despite saying this I find that for the money you spend on an OPI ($24.90) I would want at least four or five days without chipping ideally, which I haven't experienced yet. I will continue to use OPI polishes however as they are one of the better polishes that I've use that are available in NZ and very easy to get in Farmers.
This nailpolish is amazing! Easy to use brushes, quick during time, smooth application and it's super long lasting! I'm a perfectionist and I think this is the most perfect polish and it doesn't chip and goes on easily! 10/10!!!

I'm a nail art blogger and a qualified nail tech, so I've spent a lot of time around nail polish! While I think most brands are "good," OPI remains the one I'd chose if I was to have one brand for the rest of my life. It's just a really good combo - beautifully presented bottles, huge range of colours, great formula, 3-free... love it!
Tips: The wide brush is amazing, but can be tricky for kids or people with super small nail plates. Just something to bear in mind!
I used to absolutely love OPI and rave only about this brand of nail polish but now after trying other brands im not so sure. I think I was more in love with the colour selection and the different collections that were coming out all the time.
I don't like the way these chip off pretty much the next day when applied to the natural nail. That's just annoying and having to redo my nails all the time is not ideal. In saying that though, when these polishes are applied to acrylic nails they seem to last a really long time.
In conclusion, I am not a fan of these when applied to the natural nail and wouldn't recommend them at all but if applied to acrylic nails, go for it, you can't go wrong :)
Tips: Make sure you use a base and top coat when applying to the natural nail but when applying to an acrylic nail just use a top coat for extra shine :)
I love o.p.i nail polishes, they have amazing colours and the formula is lovely. I have a few colours and i love them so much. The colour pay off it amazing and is so vibrant. I usually apply a base coat, 2 coats of colour and top coat to make sure my colour lasts and so it will help it not chip as easy. I usually leave the colour on for a week and then change colours. O.P.I also many colours that you fall in love with, and maybe it will suit the mood your in. I have noticed some of nail polishes do separate but if you just shake the product it works fine. The price is really expensive and I usually wait for a sale or check out nzsale or big bucket sales as they are cheaper. Overall I love O.P.I.
‘Not Like The Movies’ is a gorgeous nail polish that I’m very happy to have added to my collection.
It’s a really unique duo-chrome finish that looks like a dark olivey-green silver (I hope that makes sense!) in some lights, and has a purple-pink silver sheen in other lights. There is also a fine silver glitter/shimmer running through it. It is really pretty, and quite neutral overall, so it can be worn with heaps of different colours. I do agree with the review below that it is quite cool-toned, so it doesn’t always work perfectly with my warm undertones, but I still love it. If you have pink undertones I think it would be perfect!
It has the typical OPI formula: quite thin, and fairly opaque. I do find that this needs about 3 coats (sometimes I can get away with two), but because each coat goes on very thinly and smoothly it doesn’t actually take that long to dry, so I’m sort of okay with that. With a top coat, I find that this lasts me about 4-5 days before it starts to show wear and tear (bear in mind that I am very hard on all my nail polishes, so this is a decent amount of time for one to last!). I think that there are better formulas than OPI out there, or at least ones that are on-par but cheaper, but when it comes to really unique shades like this I don’t mind splurging a bit (plus OPI can be found on sale quite often).
Tips: This looks really lovely as an accent nail paired with a neutral polish (such as grey or cream) on the other nails.
