La Roche-Posay Gel Cleanser

I don't like this cleanser very much. It makes it feel like I am washing my face with soap. After washing the cleanser off it makes my skin feel like rubber, almost too clean. Don't really recommend this product.

Micro peeling gel

I like the squeeze tube as product comes out easily. One thing I can’t get over is the smell. It smells strongly of alcohol no matter how much you use and it really irritates my skin.

I still try to persist, wet my face and lather the product. To be completely honest I haven’t noticed much. It doesn’t seem to improve my skin greatly. I also haven’t noticed it reducing sebum and my blackheads and pimples are still as visible.

It rinses off well, removes slight makeup.

My skin doesn’t feel particularly soft or refreshed afterwards. I haven’t noticed a difference so far. I just can’t get over the smell. I will try to continue using it to get a good idea of whether it works but currently I wouldn’t repurchase.

Only for the oily skin girlies

Defs a very good cleaner but more targeted for oily skin like it says! Very drying if you don’t have oily skin & makes your face very dehydrated! Would recommend for oily skin girlies with acne!

La Roche Posay Micro-Peeling Gel Cleanser

I have used the Micro-Peeling Purifying Gel Cleanser For a week now with mixed results. The packaging is classy and clear to read. Only a small amount of the gel is required for adequate coverage, it lathers well in your hands and certainly makes your face feel super clean. However I did feel like my skin was extra dry after using and needed a lot more moisturiser, as well as my hands due to using them to apply it. I feel like it would be effective in cleansing acne prone skin but would need to be complimented with a very good moisturiser and hand cream to avoid drying ones skin out.

Knock spots out

I tried this 1 x a day for 5 days on problem areas of my face and back. I found it dried out spots/congestion quickly and effectively but was drying to the point I have some flakey skin on my forehead/nose where I used it. I think may be better on oilier skin than mine as mine is more combo (dry with oily patches). But for spots I would say this is great.

Tips: Less is more. Only use on areas with spots/congestion.

Good for oily skin

I love La Roche Posay products so was looking forward to trying this, however, I think my skin was a little to dry for it to see how well it could work. My skin tends to change with the season so at the moment is quite dry so when I used the cleanser, it felt quite tight afterwards. I did follow will other La Rochae Posay products though and it felt fine. I think this is a good product for people who tend to have oily skin.

Face wash for persistent imperfections!

I was very excited to try out this face wash mean for ‘persistent imperfections’ as I have suffered with oily skin since my tweens, and this product states that it softens and removes excess sebum.

I have tried a La Roche-Posay cleanser before and had some good results from it, so I was expecting similar benefits from this product. I don’t have bad pimples anymore but still require a decent face wash to remove the awful oil that settles in my T zone.

Since using this product for a little over week I have already started noticing a little less shine on my forehead during the day, and my skin feels very soft and dry (in a GOOD way) after I cleanse with the product morning and night. I have a few dry areas like around my nose and mouth, but that could be a mixture of the cold weather combining with a new face wash. Since this product is meant to face AND body I also rubbed the excess into my chest because it feels oily to the touch by the end of the day - I did notice today that it felt drier than normal so that was great!

The product packaging is great as it’s a very generous 200ml size, and a little squeeze lathers up well. I like to leave the lathered product on my skin for 10 seconds to really get the benefits of the ingredients to seep in to my skin and remove the excess sebum like the product describes.

Overall I am pretty happy with this product and I have given it 4 stars at the moment, but as times goes on I think my skin will just get better and better. Perhaps a face wash like this is best combined with a toner from La Roche-Posay to greatly benefit the user. Would reccoment to others suffering from pimples/excess oil!

Tips: Leave lathered on your skin for a short while, so that the product has time to work it’s magic before you wash it straight off.

Great for acne

This product definitely works! I used to use it everyday until it broke me out, and then realised I had just been using it wrong! If you have sensitive skin like me, use it once a week. Otherwise, you’ll end up destroying your skins barrier!! After using it, you’ll feel a slight tingly sensation, but nothing too harsh.

Tips: Use a little! Foams up well.

La Roche Posay cleanser

I have mildly sensitive acne prone skin. This cleanser effectively cleansed my skin and also had a cooling sensation. I couldn’t say for sure if it has improved my acne as my acne is mild, but it certainly has not made it worse or caused and problems for the sensitivity that sometimes occurs. I would recommend this product to others with skin like mine.

Tips: I use this twice a day, before bed and in the morning before makeup application.

Dry up that acne

La Roche Posay® Effaclar Micro-Peeling Purifying Gel Cleanser is a gel based cleanser used to help target acne and excess oil.

I have normal to dry skin but suffer from hormonal acne at least once a month, around my jawline and chin. This is the stubborn blind style acne that lingers for a long time. I eventually succumb to it and start poking and picking in an effort to drain it and hurry the process, I never learn.. I had said acne at the time I received this product to trial, two large ones on my jawline.

I chose to use this product after I had used my usual daily oil cleanser to remove my make up.

I really enjoyed the aesthetics of the packaging and the tube style, however I would have preferred the outlet hole to have been larger to let product out more quickly.

The product is clear, has little to no smell, foams up nicely - not to much, not to little and left a slightly tingling and cooling feeling on the skin. I focused the product on my problem areas only and chose to leave it off the rest of my face that is not oily and more on the normal to dry side.

I felt as though I could feel the product working as I left it on my skin for a few minutes before I rinsed it off.

The result: those two nasties dried up and smoothed out flat after two nights of use. It took a further two or three days for the redness to dissipate. I was happy with this result as it often takes longer and in hindsight I could have used the product in the morning also.

Being someone with more normal to dry skin I'll be keeping this product on hand for when I need it and will purchase another tube when I run out.

I am looking forward to reading other reviews from people that suffer with bad acne as I have a feeling it could be a game changer for them.
