Head and Shoulders Smooth and Silky Shampoo and Conditioner

I tried this product many years ago due to having bad dandruff but this product only made my dandruff problem worse so I stopped using it. I found that it left my hair feeling dry as if it stripped all the natural oils from it.

I liked the idea of having a shampoo and conditioner in one - as I tend to be a bit lazy. However, I bought this to help with my dandruff.

I used this every time I washed my hair for just over a month. FirstLy I found the smell absolutely repulsive - it's a kind of gross sweet chemical smell. But because I didn't want to waste product I ignored it and used it anyway.

It didn't froth up a whole lot which I found a little odd, but it rinsed out well and my hair felt clean when I got out of the shower.

When I went to comb it, it was super, super knotty and it felt awful. It didn't feel sleek like it usually does after washing it. It was really painful combing my hair because it was so knotty.

When my hair dried it looked really dry and unhealthy. Initially I thought that this was just my hair adjusting to a new shampoo. When this didn't improve over the course of 6 weeks, I decided it was this - as I hadn't done anything different to my hair or diet.

Also my dandruff seemingly got worse. For the first two weeks it was really bad and my sister - who studied hairdressing, said that it is just the shampoo/conditioner getting rid of my dandruff. After this didn't improve I started questioning the shampoo but continued with it as I though it could just my scalp adjusting to it.

Alas, I loathe this shampoo/conditioner combo. It could just be my hair or my scalp not liking it - I'm not sure. My boyfriend swears by this and he has gorgeous shiny hair with no dandruff. But for me this was just awful. It didn't suit my hair or scalp. Based on this I will never buy or use this again, I've had better results using dishwasher liquid (the things you do when camping). I wouldn't recommend this based on my experience with it but my boyfriend has great results with it, so it obviously works for some - just not me.

I bought this as I have mild dandruff and had never tried this type of shampoo. I used it for a week and had no change to my scalp and my hair became dry and course. It felt literally like horse hair. I told my bf to use it as he's not fussy and bought something else. Won't be Trying this again

I bought this one because it was a widely used brand that promises dandruff free hair and who doesn't want smooth and silky frizz free hair. Well, it didn't give me the results of a dandruff free scalp much less silky hair. I still had dandruff flakes and my hair although somewhat smooth was still dry and frizzy afterwards. I would say at best it was an average supermarket shampoo at best. I definitely wouldn't go back to using this since I have used much better shampoos and conditioners.

My partner requested I buy this shampoo. He then went and used it and said it smells like chemicals so I then tried it for myself and noticed that yes it does smell weird. I have used this shampoo many years ago for my hair and it was good and got rid of dandruff. This time round it actually made my scalp more drier than ever. I would not recommend this, it is way overpriced as well.

First Impressions: Simple, recognisable branding with a little bit of a feminine touch.

Product: I used this for about 3 weeks when my scalp was a living nightmare (dandruff) and I have to be honest - It actually made it worse. I found my head started to itch during application and for at least an hour after. I can't say I noticed any improvement in reducing my flakey-ness either. I ended up at the chemist buying a proper medicated shampoo (which worked wonders) and tossed the remainder of this in the bin. Overall this just dried my already dry and frizzy hair out, didn't fix the dandruff problem and made me itchy. Unimpressed.

Tips: Honestly, don't bother... Especially if you have a sensitive scalp.

First up it does work for dry skin and scalp but I found that my hair was left very dull (I do suffer from dry hair at the best of times) but just seemed to continuously have a "bad hair day". I understand that not all products are suited to all people, but if you do have dry hair I would recommend you are cautious about using this product. I have reverted to my old favourites. By the way hubby liked it.

Head and Shoulders is well known to help with dandruff but I also wanted something that will make my hair smooth as well. Someone recommended me the Smooth and Silky one.

I used the shampoo first and it lathered in my hair quite nicely and it smelt lovely. Then used the conditioner, which smelt just like the shampoo. I followed the instructions on the bottle just to make sure I use it properly to get rid of dandruff. After my hair dried, my hair did feel smooth and silk, like it never felt before, but I still have a dandruff problem. I used this until I finished the bottles, but there was no improvement.

I wouldn't waste my money on this anyway. Maybe one of the other flavours will work better.

I brought this after seeing this in the supermarket, hoping it would help relieve my dry, irritated scalp.

The packaging is a classic, rather old school look with its blue and white basic container. Everyone knows and has heard of this brand, so I was hoping it would be effective. I was a little put off initially with the combination of shampoo and conditioner, but thought I would give it a go!

The consistency of the product is creamy and lathered up well. It seemed to clean my hair well and felt smooth after blow drying. I found my blonde highlights looked really dull after using this and my hair also lacked moisture.

However, the reason why I got this was to try to relieve my dry, flakey scalp and I had no improvement after using this.

Overall, rather disappointing and would not repurchase.
