Hooray for Hurraw

After hearing all the hype surrounding this product, I was intrigued to try it. I added it to my iherb cart numerous times but always deleted it before processing it. Did I really need another lip balm? Was this product as good as everyone said it was?

The answer, Yes and Yes.

I love the hurraw lip balm. I know im not a lip balm fanatic like some of you lovely BR members on here, but I do own a fair amount of lip balm and…. I have never finished a lip balm off. I have never been so addicted to using a lip balm that I emptied it and repurchased another one, even if I loved the product. Enter Hurraw.

I got the vanilla flavour, and when I first saw the lip balm, I was intrigued. It isn’t the generic circular tube, but instead an oval shaped tube. Genius. This doesn’t roll away from me, and I can secretly stash this behind the counter at work without fear of it rolling off and onto the floor. The packaging itself is effective, with the standard twist design, and a simple but effective label.

The product itself it nice. It has a nice sweet vanilla scent to it. A smell I love, although it doesn’t have the depth of scent that some vanilla products I purchase have, it still has a nice smell which I don’t find sickly. The product is easy to apply, and I find the oval shape especially handy at times of application because it just fits my lips really well, making the product easily and smoothly glide onto them.

I apply this lip balm all the time and I love it, and my lips love it. I find it hydrates my lip while I’m using it, but the hydration is only there when the lip balm is on and there are not obvious long-lasting or permanent effects or so I thought. I used this throughout the day when my lips were sore, and a bit dry, by the end of my day my lips were smooth and soft! It also gives my lips a subtle gloss, and is great for those days when I don’t want to wear a high maintenance lip product. However, when I compare this product to other lip balms I own, I do find it ever so slightly greasier than them, but the lip balms still have a texture and consistency which I enjoy, I just thought I would point that out for the sake on an in-depth review.

Another thing I love about this brand is all the flavours they have, and the fact that they have some unique flavours such as cardamom rose, and chai which are the ones currently sitting in my iherb cart! But they also have the classics, from the sweet vanilla and chocolate to the fruity cherry and grapefruit. There really is a flavour to suit anyone! Plus, I love what this company stands for in regards to its vegan aspects as well as it being cruelty free. An aspect I am paying more and more attention to when I purchase products.

Do I recommend this product to others? Let’s just say this is the first lip balm that I think il be using to the very end. Worth a try, and is really affordable from I herb.

Lightweight Lip Balm

I love everything about the Hurraw lip balms. They are raw, vegan and cruelty free whilst still being super affordable and accessible. They have an amazing range of flavours which smell divine with no fake, plastic traces. I personally picked the lemon and coffee flavours (purchasing from shelivescrueltyfree.com) and prefer the freshness of the lemon. The packaging is reasonably sturdy and the balms are easy to apply with no sticky fingers required.

Although these are a brilliant alternative to Blistex, Nivea, EOS etc, they don't have a wow factor. The hydration is provided, but it doesn't last once the balm has faded from the lips. They are perfect to add into your nightly routine, or apply under lipstick, but they aren't particularly intensive. These wouldn't be enough to treat dry, cracked or flakey lips and they don't give the super nourished, hydrated plumpness that I am seeking. I am yet to find the lip balm that does this though, so perhaps my expectations are too high.

If I was making an online order I would probably slip another one of these in, although I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase them. It would be great to purchase a few from iHerb to have on hand for little gifts.

Tips: These would make lovely little gifts.

It's good to know that these are good under lipstick! The one I am currently using is to thick. Might have to add a few flavours in my next order.

ALL OF THE FLAVOURS

I have 4, I will buy more. I need the entire collection and I will not be satisfied until I have them all. I buy them all of She Lives Cruelty Free and I cannot recommend that company or this brand enough. Coffee Bean is my personal Favourite, but I also use Mint, Grapfruit, and Coconut.

Good Lip Balm

Hurraw! lip balm is good. Good, but not great. Love the packaging and shape of the balm, it seems to wear more evenly in the tube being the oval shape that it is.

Absolutely love the lime one and would like to try a few others in the range, although they're not long lasting I will use them again due to the flavours.

I like the philosophy behind the product, however don't find it has any real lasting effect - it only seems to last about 20 minutes or so on my lips. I also find that is my lips are particularly dry there is no effect with these balms.

I feel pretty much the same about these - I probably will purchase other flavours, just because they're so nice, but I don't find them that amazing or long lasting compared to other lip balms. :) Great review!

love the chai spice

I purchased my HURRAW! chai spice lip balm from the cruelty free shop on k-rd akl I LOVE IT it smells amazing, it goes on really well. doesn't feel too thick or oily, it's more of an oily feeling than a thick vaseline type texture. the packaging is funky and appealing. it has quite a smooth glide and it makes me want to use it more and more...

I keep this in my handbag and after leaving my bag in the car it didn't melt due to heat which is great!!! I am super impressed that this product is animal friendly which is why I purchased it.

Tips: use a little not a lot

Hurraw! Night Treatment Lip Balm

After hearing ShaaanXO talking about her favourite Hurraw Lip Balm I just had to try it so I purchased the Hurraw Night Treatment Lip Balm with Blue Chamomile & Vanilla. Seriously it made my lips so super smooth and soft. I've got a bad habit of biting my lower lip whenever I get stressed and applying this lip balm before I went to bed completely softened and smoothed my lips.

I need to try all the other Hurraw Lip Balms

Tips: A little goes a long way.

Oh Hurraw!

I can thank the good ol' Shaaanxo for this one. I purchased a few off their website and was amazed by a few things in particular. 1. The service was amazing, they sent me extra balms when they realised I was from NZ and had to pay quite a bit of shipping - amazing in my book and prompted me to buy even more. 2. The consistency of all the balms are smooth and creamy and the same across the flavours/scents that I have. 3. The difference it has made in my lips is insane. They are more hydrated, less dry and cracked and they taste pretty good too :)

All of the flavours are amazing and if you can get your hands on them, you definitely should!

Moon Balm

I will start this off by telling you my lips are pretty temperamental, one minute they can be perfectly fine - the next, cracked, dry and painful. It's mainly because I'm a bit of a lip licker and I bite my lips when I'm nervous/anxious/excited/bored..... I'm extremely picky when it comes to lip balms - they must smell nice, taste nice, be nice and thick but not sticky or gooey and they MUST WORK. This absolutely covers all of the above. I adore this balm so, so much, it has been an absolute saviour and it lasts so long! I haven't even gone through a whole tube. The texture of this balm is superior to any balm I've used, it's nice and luscious, thick and super creamy with a delectable scent and pleasant taste. I put this on at night when I go to bed and then when I wake up in the morning there is a soft residue left over and my lips are so soft and supple. Now, I've also got two other Hurraw! Balms, the Coconut one and the Black Cherry tinted one. These are so inferior to the Moon Balm it's not even funny. Black Cherry has a delicious scent and pretty, natural tint but it's SO slippery it gets everywhere and that's not acceptable for a tinted (red) balm. The Coconut one is slightly better, it's a little more thick in texture but no where near Moon Balm thick, it smells divine but it just doesn't last! I get maybe 5 minutes of wear (hydration) from this balm before it disappears, I find myself needing to constantly reapply. Would I repurchase? Moon Balm - Definitely! Any other type? Nope, sorry. I think that Hurraw! Should make all of their balms that delicious thick formula, I would buy them all!!

Hurrah Hurraw!

I got this product after my sister had recommended it to me and I was not disappointed.

I bought the Vanilla Bean flavour; spotted with vanilla bean. It is lightly scented and not overbearing which is exactly what I was after.

I find the vanilla bean little dots within this particular balm are quite good; especially when you have dry lips in that it helps exfoliate. The formula of these balms in general are quite moisturising and I find last longer than the likes of Chapstick.

I really like the packaging; the oval shape of the balm is more suited to your lips that the traditional round/flat shape of lip balms. I also love that they are cruelty free. They are not greasy or sticky and feel great to wear, even under lipstick.

Overall, totally love this product and would recommend, especially if you have drier lips and find other balms don't really work.

Tips: I bought mine off iHerb - not badly priced shipping and they do a range of other brands too.

The vanilla bean flavour contains actual vanilla bean pieces; pretty good for exfoliating but many may not likes this.

Black Cherry, Smells Like Candy

***Disclaimer*** I was sent one of these by Oh Natural to review on my Youtube channel, but I have no affiliation with the product or anything like that, this is 100% my honest opinion.

OHMYGOD YOU GUYS. I've seen these on iHerb and I know they're like a cult favourite but I had never tried them before now. First of all the smell is amazeballs. Like cherry candy or lollipops. Yummmmmmy. This one is tinted red and it's such a pretty colour, especially considering I can only wear red lippy for Red My Lips this month, I was thrilled to see this. The formula is super moisturizing, the packaging is like a slim oval shape that I love and because the product inside is shaped like that, I really like the way it applies. I will be buying other flavours of this and I think it might be my favourite lip balm of all time, even over Maybelline Baby Lips. The texture of this particular one is quite thin but I like that for during the day.
