Gentle but very effective exfoliation

I love Dr Lewinns products so I had high expectations for this facial "polish". I am pleased to say that my expectations were exceeded. Coming in a flip top tube I found my only gripe was that I had to be very gentle or I ended up with way too much product. It has a gentle fragrance that is neither stunning nor horrible but gives an impression of "clean". It feels quite smooth and silky to touch as the jojoba wax beads are very small and soft feeling. I used it in the shower and found it easy to apply and wash off. While using it for the first time you may doubt its effectiveness as it seems illogical that this lotion could be exfoliating anything as it feels so soft on the skin - I definitely did. But when you wash it off and dry your skin if you are like me it will feel soft and smooth. I used it 3 times in the first week I had it but could have got away with once or twice on my drier skin. I would use this again as part of my regular regime.

Tips: A little goes a long way

Dr Lewinns Facial Polishing Gel

Gorgeous, effective product.

Simple, clean lines packaging - very modern and fresh.

Product is quite thin and only a very little needed. Glides on well on a damp face, gentle yet effective.

My skin is a little more on the dry side as I'm aging so only used once a week, and that was enough. Didn't dry my skin out like other exfoliants are prone to but certainly felt like it had done a good job of exfoliating.

Subtle light fragrance, not overpowering. Did not sting my sensitive eyes like other products invariably do in coming anywhere close to the area.

Price point high for many consumers but a little goes a long way with this product and it comes in a generous tube size.

Great product!

Tips: Dampen face before application for a smooth experience. Don't squeeze the tube too hard, you only need a small amount!

Polished

Over the years I hav tried so many different face scrubs with all ending in fails, my skin has always been bad. that's the only nice word I can use, I had given up on ever clearing my face up and saw this trial i had read other reviews on this product and felt like another leap of faith to hopefully find something that works. woo hoo made the trial and product arrived. Day 1 of my trial for Dr LeWinn's Facial Polishing Gel I am very skeptical as absolutely nothing has worked in the past for me so I read the label an it says best under running water, but good old me in a hurry decides to just run a lil sink full of water as I hav to get ready for work but am way 2 keen to start my testing of this yummy smelling face polish. let's put this beauty to the test. well it feels good as it's rubbed over my face, its not to rough with the texture of the product and I wash it off racing off to get ready for work. as I'm moisturizing my face there is still some of the face polish sneakily remaining on my face. this would be the reasoning for running water peeps, so off to rinse round 2 and finish off with a wet flannel. bingo definitely all done this time. hav double and triple checked. now pat dry an off to get ready. man on 1st use my skin feels so soft only time will tell.

Day 2 Early morning face wash b4 getting ready and I'm loving the feel of my skin after using this product. on only the 2nd day my skin definitely feels softer an cleaner this time one did as the label recommend an used the running water hehe. Day 3 Wow my skin is actually starting to look good. ha I didn't actually think this would happen like with other products in the past, but this one is doing some amazing things. Days 4 an 5 I hav to say the difference in my skins appearance is choice, i am a very happy trial member an so thankful that I was one of the selected few that got the chance to try this product. i absolutely give this a huge 10 out of 10.

Tips: I would hav to say definitely use with running water just when you think you hav it all washed off there is a sneaky little bit left behind :)

Lemon Margarita!

I was lucky to be selected to trial this product and was really pleased with it! The packaging is simple yet sophisticated - what I would expect from Dr. Lewinns. The product comes in your typical squeezy tube with a pop-open cap, easy to open with one hand.

The consistency is quite thin in comparison with exfoliating products I usually use which I liked as I didn't find it as harsh. The scent reminds me of lemon sorbet or margarita - which is cool with me!

I have normal-dry skin, I used this product 2-3 times a week (more than advised) and had good results. I have recently been struggling with my forehead being covered with those little spots that never seem to eventuate into anything and are impossible to get rid of - when I began using this I had at least 10 and now I am down to 4!

This product has made me want to try more Dr. Lewinns products!

Tips: Dont need to squeeze the tube much - the consistency of this product means it flows quite easily.

Polished Perfection

First of all, this product smells divine! From the moment I opened the lid I fell in love, and it just kept getting better.

The consistency of the gel is thinner than I had anticipated, however that made no difference to the use of the product. Dr Lewinns has created a facial polishing gel that really is gentle on the skin, whilst also being extremely effective in the exfoliation process.

I have often found that exfoliating can be quite harsh in the skin, leaving it sore and red, but that is certainly not the case here. After using this product my skin felt soft, refreshed and smooth.

Tips: - With my skin type I found using this product every second day was effective. - I found using Dr Lewinns Facial Polishing Gel during my shower routine was the easiest method. It was much easier to make sure all of the exfoliating beads were washed away whilst in the shower. - Due to the thin consistency of the product, it is important to be careful when opening the tube. Open it cap up so as to avoid product waste. Also take care when squeezing onto your hand as more product can come out than intended and needed.

Dr Lewinns Facial Polishing Gel - Review

I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial this incredible product in a trial team, thank you BR! Anyway, this product claims to be a gentle facial polishing scrub that will 'slough' the dead skin off your face without irritating it. I can definitely say this is true, I love using it. The one thing I'm not such a fan of is the price - $55 but I do suppose it comes in quite a big tube with 150g of product. You can find this product at Farmers, selected pharmacies and online.

First off, the packaging - this comes in a nice, clean looking cardboard box and inside is the tube (obviously!) which is squeezy and made from clear product so you can see how much is left at all times. It does make it a little hard to control how much product comes out, sometimes I found a bit too much squeezed out but that's not a big issue. The smell of this product is also interesting - kind of banana smelling, it reminds me of a Cotton On Body store for some reason? But it is nice, quite strong but not a bad scent so I don't mind too much. Just something to consider if you don't like strong scented products or are sensitive to smells. It has a runny consistency for a scrub, with lots of tiny beads that I believe are made out of jojoba wax. You only need a tiny blob of scrub (about the size of a 10c piece) and then you just massage into your face using circular motions. I have combination skin and get dry patches in winter, and I found this helped keep my dry patches at bay as it both exfoliated dead skin off and didn't strip my skin of moisture. My skin felt baby soft afterwards! I use this every 2nd or 3rd night, and after use apply a thick moisturizer so it really soaks into my skin overnight and I wake up with perfect skin ready to apply makeup.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this product. I think it would suit all skin types nicely, as it leaves your skin baby soft and free of dead/dry skin but not stripped of moisture. Sure, it is a bit pricey, but if you are looking for a good, gentle yet effective facial polishing scrub this might do the trick. You do get a good bit of product for the price and you only need a tiny amount each time anyway.

Tips: A little goes a long way, and you can always add more so start with a small amount!

Love Love Love

I have had a few problems with exfoliators this year and skin sensitivity so I was a little apprehensive trying this. My skin can be described as sensitive and otherwise is relatively normal. I do get a little oil on my nose but that's about it.

Reading the directions they suggested I use this once or twice a week and that is what I have been doing. This product has been wonderful to use! No skin sensitivity issues and I feel it is actually doing that it said it would do. The beads are super fine but there is a lot of them so the exfoliate effectively. My skin is left feeling clean and smooth but not tight and dehydrated.

My partner who has oily, acne prone skin has also been using and enjoying it too.

This is definitely a product I will re-purchase.

Tips: The product is quite liquidy so be careful when opening that you don't over do it and end up with a handful of product. A little goes a long way.

Gentle Exfoliation

I have enjoyed using the Dr Lewinns Facial Polishing Gel.

It is a lovely exfoliant that you can use every couple of days. The Jojoba wax beads are nice and small so it feels like your skin is being polished but its not rough. My skin feels clean and fresh after use and it does not leave my skin feeling dried out.

The product does have a fragrance however it is quite fresh and light, it smells kind of like cucumber. I personally really like it.

The packing is very simple but effective, its a flip top type lid and the tube with the product in is super soft so its very easy to squeeze out. It also seals nicely so you can leave it in the shower and its doesn't get water leaking in.

Overall I really like what it does and will definitely continue to use this scrub.

Think I am going to have to try this on my partner as well, he secretly loves it when I make him try new products too!

Shiney Apple Face

I was given this product to trial by BR, and was quite excited, as Dr Lewinns have a very good reputation.

It comes initially in a plainish box with Dr Lewinns Branding outlining the name of the product and the ingredients, which are Jojoba Wax beads (which answers the question of how it exfoliates), Aloe Vera and Chamomile Extract. Inside the box is a classy looking plastic bottle with a flip top lid. The bottle is transparent so you can clearly see the product inside and know when it’s running low, which I really like.

The product itself is pale yellow. It is thick with beads. The beads disperse once mixed with the water and don’t feel to heavy or scratchy. It has a subtle clean scent that I like. As per the instructions, I have been using it in the shower in the mornings, massaging it into my damp skin as recommended. I feel that it cleans my skin very well without being abrasive. I have been using it daily (the recommendation is for once per week for dry skin like mine), and the extra use hasn’t done any harm that I can see. I must add that my skin isn’t usually sensitive though. After drying, my skin feels clean, plump, and soft, with the same smooth feel that other products with waxy ingredients leave on my skin. My complexion definitely looks more even after use. I’m hoping it will eventually improve the skin on my neck with regular daily massaging.

I use, and have used, a lot of exfoliants and I think this is above average, particularly as it isn’t rough and doesn’t dry my skin. It claims to polish the skin to reveal a fresh and glowing complexion. I think it achieves this well, considering my skin is mature.

The product also claims to use natural herbal ingredients and nutrients for added skin conditioning, and I like that.

To be honest, I would have been prepared to purchase it again until I looked up the price - $55. While it is a very good product, I couldn’t pay $55 for it I’m afraid. Having said that, you only need to use a small amount at a time (pea sized amount) so the tube will last for ages, if you want to lay out $55 initially.

Tips: Use as directed and follow with your daily moisturiser.

Dr Lewinns Facial polishing gel

I found it to be one of the best exfoliating gels I've use. Although it could be a little pricy for some people at rrp $55 you only need to use a little bit as it goes a long way, definitely worth every cent. It left my skin feeling clean and smooth to touch. I really like the fragrance The scent is subtle, and exfoliated really well.

Tips: For normal/dry skin use once a week. For combination/oily skin use three to four times a week.
