St. Tropez Double Velvet Mitt

Tanning mitts are the best thing to happen to self tanning, however they are not all created equally.

This tanning mitt is smaller than others on the market which can make it difficult to get your whole hand in, in particular my husband couldn't get his whole hand in to do my back and came away with tan thumbs.

The inside of the glove lining is thin and feels like it wont last, the outside of the glove was matted after 1 application. I wanted to love this glove but there are better options on the market for better prices unfortunately.

In saying this, yes it got the job done.

The St Tropez double velvet mitt is a striking light blue shade and really does feel plush to touch, it is visibly thicker and feels fluffier than any of my other mitts on comparison.

I feel the packaging does slightly detract from the luxe feel as you have to cut or rip it open to access the mitt - a reusable tab or drawstring would have a more aesthetic appeal and allow the package to be used to securely store the mitt.

When using to apply my tan the double velvet mitt seemed to absorb a substantial amount of product, and due to the thickness it did not bend and contour to my curves as easily other thinner mitts do although it was soft and comfortable on my hand. I did find product application slightly patchy around curves.

Unfortunately although the mitt does look and feel luxurious I prefer to apply my tan with a thin mitt for more precise coverage.

Great mitt, even application, cute colour BUT when I asked my partner to do my back he struggled getting it onto his hand! I feel like this is an important element as most people fake tanning ask their partners to help rub in product on their backs. Otherwise, practical mitt that does the job it is meant to do !!

This velvet mitt is the perfect thing to use for applying fake tan to your body. It's quite large so easy to get your hand in and out of, and it also has a lining inside so the tan won't seep through and stain your hands. It glides the tan smoothly onto the skin. Cleaning it is very easy; I just rinse it with warm water and its clean again. The only thing I would change is maybe add a "thumb" part to it - as it's just a giant mitt it can be difficult to get into the small spaces like your toes.

Application is key when applying fake tan, the mitt is a pretty blue, fits well over my hand, and it does apply the tan and spread out well, however I do find i need to keep buffing the tan into my skin as it does tend to leave a few lines, so be extra careful when blending. I have tried smoothing out over my skin, and tapping to blend, thankfully once washed off it appears fine.

it has a great price point but doesn’t stand out against other competitor brands. It does what it’s meant to do and protects your hands. applies tan well and streak free

Thank you Beauty Review for this trial. I really appreciate it. I found this mitt to be soft and the inside was padded. It was super soft, it felt very luxurious. I felt it was useful to apply the spray tan and my hands didn't get stained. I was overall happy with the distribution however I did notice a few bits of fluff on my legs. I have used a mitt with a thumb, and that is the one that I prefer, but that is just my opinion. I am sure there are some people who prefer this one.

This is a lovely soft applicator mitt. It has a plastic inner so hands and wrist shouldn't get any product on them . Love that it was slightly longer and covered my wrist, not like other brands I have tried. It really does make coverage once you have sprayed the tan mist, so effortless, and you get a good even coverage. Easy to clean and reuse as It dries fairly quickly. Would recommend.

This Mitt has such a nice smooth feel to it on the outside, the inside feels like it wont last many applications or cleanings. The size is a bit tight, my hand was very cosy in there, so imagine anyone with large hands wouldn't be able to get them in there.

It did the job well though, I didn't have streaks and seemed to leave a nice finish - I had one patch that looked a bit messy but that might have been me being overzealous with the spray rather than the mitt.

I like it, if they made it a bit sturdier I would probably purchase again.
