I got this to trial at the right time - when I had the flu, in the middle of winter, and my skin was chapped, dry, and just generally terrible. This has definitely helped my skin heal more rapidly than I think it otherwise would have (based on past experience). I've used it a several times a week, after cleansing, while having an evening bath. I have really slathered it on, especially around my poor chapped nose and lips, and between my eyebrows. There's no scent, and it does seem to have a calming effect on my skin. However, I'm not thrilled about it being in a pottle, so that every time I open it there is oxidation. Also, there are other deeply hydrating masks for a lot less money that I think do just as good a job (if not even better) that come in tubes and contain more product. Having said that, it did what it said it would do and helped my skin, and for those that need help with dry skin and want to support a good (NZ) brand, then this is worth trying.

Pop this mask and some fluffy socks on, grab a wine and sit back and relax! This is a beautifully presented product and a generous size. It has a rich, creamy texture and a light yellow colour to it, so it helps to see where you have applied it. I found my skin must have been quite dry in some areas and it absorbed quite quickly, so I preferred to use a clean foundation brush to apply quite thickly. It does say on the jar to apply a thick layer to face and neck and leave for 10-15mins. I used it after 2x cleansing and exfoliating then sat back with the above and relaxed while it did it's thing! I rubbed the excess into my hands and they were left also feeling hydrated and soft. I removed using a hot facecloth placed over my face then gently patting to remove the excess. My skin was glowing and hydrated, feeling fresh and soft. It says it is to "Hydrate and Strengthen sensitive skin in need of a serious hydration boost" and I found this accurate. Some of the key ingredients are maqui berry, SyriCalm and sweet almond and I think it is the almond I can slightly smell. Syricalm is a soothing botanical complex used in the treatment of stressed and sensitive skin, relieving itching, reducing redness and improving the quality of the skins barrier function. It is certified natural, fragrance free, non GMO, no animal testing, dermatologically tested. I love using it at the end of each week (and in between! Pop it on while in the bath-bliss!) it feels so calming and soothing. As with other products in the range even when applying it thickly a little seems to go a long way and with not using it every day I think it is a good investment.
Tips: Use the spatula to scoop the mask from the jar to avoid cross contamination from fingers then use a clean foundation brush to paint a thick layer onto face and neck. Use a hot cloth applied over face afterwards then gently pat to remove.
When using this mask I felt an almost instant calming effect. The mask is so creamy that it creates a protective barrier over your skin as it is working. While you are leaving it on it really absorbs into your skin and becomes a transparent residue. After washing off the mask my skin felt so so so soft and hydrated, looked visibly less red and had a healthy clean glow to it. The sweet almond in it is so good at absorbing into your skin for a great hydration boost. The product is a thick but smooth and creamy consistency with a pleasant berry scent. The cream is a yellow colour that I’m not sure why but found slightly off-putting. Although that says nothing to the actual properties of the mask. To begin with I didn’t think you would get a lot from this container as you are instructed to apply a thick layer to your face, however I have been using this twice weekly for 3 weeks and still have plenty left, it’s a deceptive container. One time I did leave the mask on longer than directed (I was cleaning the house and lost track of time) and for the majority of my face it was fine, just absorbed into my skin more for an extra hydration boost! I had a couple of eczema patches on my forehead that got a little red and itchy from the prolonged use but the rest of my face was fine. So if you have active rashes just be careful how long you leave the mask on, I had no problems with the eczema when I left it for only 15 mins.
Tips: When applying really massage the mask into your face then leave for 15 mins. When taking the mask off, rather than washing it off take hot face cloth, lay it over your face and “press” the product off, don’t rub, this really keeps the hydration in your skin.
Definitely do not regret buying this mask while putting it on it leaves such a nice cool sensation that feels so relaxing and hydrating bonus it even comes with a little spatula to put it on your face with. The downside it is not the easiest to get off the residue using a tissue doesnt work, either a wet cloth for a completely clear skin or let the product soak in. How ever I still would recommend it for any type of skin even sensitive

The Hydra mask comes in a decent 60ml sized glass tub and has its own little scoop which is quite handy for getting the product out without having to use your fingers or contaminating the whole tub. the mask has a slightly thick consistency and is light yellow in color it glides on very easy. It does not feel heavy and has a very mild but pleasant smell of all the oils.I leave it for about 15 mins and wipe of the excess. It is a leave in mask & my skin feels really soft after every application. As it is a hydrating mask it did leave my skin feeling nicely hydrated and I didn't feel the need to moisturise after either. I did notice that it didn't leave my face feeling dry or red after washing it off. it actually helped with my redness around my cheeks and nose and I could notice that it actually did leave it feeling quite calm. This product certainly does what it says. It leaves the skin soothed and calmed. Would definitely recommend.
