Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour Foundation Review

i dont wear alot of make up but was excited to try this is a pump and just enough came out not to much there was no smell.and the coverage was great i didnt need alot so this would last alot longer.it felt light to wear the only thing i found as im very fair i picked a colour that made my skin lighter.i would buy this and it stayed on all day till i cleaned my skin

... maybe it's this insanely good new offering from Maybelline.

I'm always sceptical about lofty claims like 'Full Coverage' and 'Superstay!' but you know what? They live up to what they promise, and I'm super impressed.

Shade selection wasn't simple for the trial, as I couldn't swatch (of course!) but I managed to find a shade that's utterly perfect for my skin apart from the day after freshly tanning - I'll probably go up a shade when I repurchase - and I WILL be repurchasing. In the meantime, a little bronzer on top of this brings it up to perfect.

The packaging is standard for a the brand - nothing super unique but an attractively presented square clear glass bottle with a white top, and subtle silver/pink labelling. 30 mls is a decent size for foundation, so I think it's value for money in this size.

The pump has already leaked ever so slightly but the lid fits well and i'm reasonably confident about leaving it in my makeup bag even when travelling. The pump is white plastic as well, and (amazingly) one pump dispenses enough foundation for a full face. Well done on that one Maybelline!

The foundation is mid -consistency; not runny or super thick. It spreads and applies well, but requires buffing to get it to blend fully - no worries as I do this anyway. It has a very faint scent that I barely notice.

The foundation, once applied, wears beautifully. I've tried it over various illuminators, primers and moisturisers, and topped with a couple of diff powders, and it has interacted well with everything I've tried. Longevity is impressive - it survived a festival; hours in the sun in crowds of people and 27 degree heat without a worry.

I haven't had any negative reactions from my skin, it seems to really like this foundation.

Removal was easy with oil cleanser, but tougher with both facial wipes and micellar water. It appears to need to be dissolved a little then the full face cleansing to remove every trace - that's the tradeoff I guess!

I'll definitely be repurchasing this in both this shade and a slightly darker one - i think I've found my new HG foundation.

This foundation comes in a 30ml glass bottle with a pump dispenser and plastic cap. It is easy to dispense and has a medium consistency.

The shade I chose was "30 Sand", which ended up being too light and too pink for me. For reference, I am NC25 in MAC and Punjab in NARS Sheer Glow.

It claims to be full coverage but I found it to be medium-full buildable with a satin finish. It did not cover my freckles with normal application, but with heavy application it looked cakey.

It claims to have 24 hour wear - I was not able to test this claim as I could not stand to have makeup on for 24 hours, but it did start to look cakey around my T-zone after about 8 hours (I have combination skin).

I personally did not like the heavy-looking finish of this foundation and would not repurchase it in the future.

This foundation provides great coverage for one on the cheaper side. Unfortunately I chose a shade too light so looked a little washed out, but continued with trying out the product to see if it lived up to what it said it’d do.

Went on easily and provided great coverage without feeling too heavy. I did break out a little on my chin the first few days but that went away. I applied a light layer for work each day for a week and it stayed put all day. My nose got a little oily by the end of the day. Then on the weekend I went to a party and applied more than usual. It built up nicely and gave a really good finish, which again lasted all night through dancing and warm temps.

This Superstay foundation has a medium consistency- not too thick but not watery either, just the right consistency to ensure it is easy to blend into your skin. I have applied it both with my beauty blender and with a brush and I have found they both look very similar so there is not one I prefer over the other. It has a very faint scent but not enough to make a difference on whether or not I'd use it. I love the coverage it gives- it is a full coverage foundation and is very lightweight yet buildable. I have some redness on my cheeks and I have found I needed very little foundation to cover it. This foundation really lives up to it's superstay name as It lasted all day and still looked like it did when I applied it when I got home a good 12 hours later!

The packaging is like any other maybelline foundation however I absolutely love the pump! It is super handy and one pump covers my whole face. I think this product would be very economical as one bottle would last ages especially without having to reapply foundation throughout the day and the price is very good for a foundation of this quality!

I really liked this foundation, after not having tried a matte foundation until this one. I have found this foundation to be great on my normal/ combination skin while using it the past few days. It lasted all day without getting cakey or separating around my nose as some foundations tend to do. I love the fact that it is fade and transfer proof as there was no need to worry about getting makeup on people when hugging, or when changing clothes.

I found this foundation to be surprisingly thick. It went a long way.. the first time I used it it I put way too much on. So next time I started with just a little and I didn't need alot . It does blend easy but I found it a little heavy on my face . The overall coverage was great. It definately covered all my redness and small veins. It dried quickly . It did look a little flaky in some areas .. wouldn't recommend on dry skin. The scent was ok - barely any scent at all. The first time I applied it and put way too much on, I struggled to removed it. I had to wash my face three times and scrub ad well just to remove it and i still felt like there was product on my face. In saying that it does last a long time and is semi waterproof. The packaging was great and appealing . I would probably buy this again but in a slightly different colour.

I had a bit of foundation anxiety with this one, I always find it a bit difficult to find one that matches my skin tone. I was amazed to find that this one in true ivory blended into my skin flawlessly. It is full coverage thank goodness and actually felt really natural on my skin. I did my usual make up routine which involves primer and a mattifying powder on top and it lasted the whole day and didn't get cakey or shiny. After years of using super expensive foundations I have been converted and found my perfect foundation match that's kind on my bank account.

- Packaging is beautiful and sleek in a glass jar and with a pump. - Fantastic coverage. I feel like most people can skip concealer altogether because of such high concentration of pigments. - Slightly on the pricey side - Finish is very matte and during winter, you definitely would need a hydrating primer underneath. If you have extremely oily skin you maybe get away without. In any case anyone should moisturizer well before any foundation. It goes on smoothly with my buffing brush.

Overall I think this foundation is awesome. Highly recommend for anyone who wants full coverage.

I'm not huge on foundations, I'm a total tinted moisturiser addict normally. But I was given the chance to try this product out and it was a revelation! I went back and forth on colours a bit (the joys of skin colour changes from winter to summer), but the one I ended up choosing was a perfect match. I first tried it out by applying with my fingers, I had to work quite quickly but did get good coverage and it was lovely, smooth and matte (as promised). The next day I had used a different moisturiser to start the day and the foundation spread much easier, it lasted fantastically during the day until I washed my face. As a third application I used a sponge (rare for me) but I found that the foundation was easiest to apply and gave the best finish. The product gave good coverage, blending and covered up any imperfections. I really liked the matte finish, especially as I have a tendency towards shiny, sweatiness recently in the heat and humidity - I was impressed that the foundation stood up to it! Overall I really like this product and will purchase it again.

Thanks BR for the opportunity to try this product out. The glass bottle fits well in the hand & hooray for a pump dispenser that helps to give you the right amount (less than I would have thought) and so no waste. I wonder whether the white top might get a bit dirty as time passes though? I found it more a medium coverage, but I tend to apply lightly anyway, and it's buildable, so all was good. I used my clean fingers to apply and blended with a brush -this seemed to work well. The consistency is slightly moussey, and dries to a soft matte finish. It seemed to darken slightly after 5 or so minutes, which was good as it looked slightly ghostly to start with. I didn't notice after the first time applying & no one mentioned me looking extra pale, so must have just been warming up. I chose True Ivory and this was a good choice for my pale-ish skin. Basically lasts most of the day, except where I inadvertently rub it off when I'm concentrating - and easy enough to touch up if needed. Not sure about the 24 hour staying power - I wasn't up that long to check it out. It comes off easily enough with a good cleanser. No reaction from my sensitive, dry skin (well moisturised first). All in all - yes I'll possibly purchase after my current bottle is finished. I'd like to see lighter shades in NZ for those of us who are winter fair-ies with freckles and red hair (True Ivory is shade 03 - so hoping!)
