Too big of a bottle!

As always nothing beats OPI! I can say this is the best shatter/crackle nail polish I have tried.

The size of your shatter is depending on how much polish you have on you brush. So lets say if you want many small ones that are tight together you go with a small amount and if you want big spread apart shatters you use more!

The colour range is so so, well it was when I was buying them. There was mostly dark blue or blue tones colours. I wish they had some pinks, brights or neons or maybe even glittery ones.

The brush is the perfect size so 2 to 3 strokes to cover the whole nail is plenty. Make sure you don't go over the same bit multiple times because then its just turns into a mess.

The only negative thing I can say about these polishes is that the bottle is just too big and I just did not end up using it up before it went think and weird. You do not end up using as much product as you would with a normal polish.

Tips: These polishes can dress up your look, just have a play around and see what works for you.

Opi shatter

I pre ordered this stuff when it first came out and thought it was pretty amazing! I still do, it's a great way to make your nails just that little bit more interesting! I put my black shatter under Fluro nail polish and get a lot of great comments! Although it dries out very quickly and gets glugy so you have to be careful when using it that it's closed properly and as often as possible. When applying to the nail, thin coats give you a lot more cracks, thicker ones give you bigger, less cracks. But if you put too much on it probably won't crack at all! (I had that problem when I accidentally put too much on) but this nail polish is easy for anyone to use! :)

Didn't like the effect

I want to begin by saying that this product is true to it's word. Quick acting. And quick drying. It easily gives you the shatter effect that is desired by using this product. However the effect is not for me! I personally don't like the effect, so didn't enjoy this product as much as anticipated.

You can have a matte 'shatter' by skipping the top coat. Or put a clear over top to get a more glossy look (which also helps it last longer).

I see shatter comes in a few colours, but i only tried black, which is an easy colour to go with many base coats.

Great product. Just not for me.

steady hand

I think nail polish like this looks amazing on and I have a number of different colours, I found that it almost dried to quickly, I like to paint and decorate my nails with anything you can think of but I don't have the steadiest of hands when it comes to doing it left handed, if applied with one coat eavenly and quickly it looks amazing but if your like me it took me a few goes to get cracks that didn't look horriable and tacky, I got there in the end :)

This was the bomb like a while ago!

i think this was really good and better than like all the other brands i tried. It didnt like clump and get hard and gross on my nail. it was smooth and easy to put on. it lasted long too. all the others that i tried were hard after a while and i regretted buying them. Also i like how i can get alot of colours like red where other brands only had like silver.

Shatter

I like the OPI shatter nail polish. I have a silver, gold and dark blue one. They have a really cool effect on your nails and its really easy to do. However I did find that the gold and silver shatter went very thick quickly after I only used it a couple of time so the effect doesn't really work anymore. But I find that the blue one is still okay. They make your nails look cool if your after a different look and the effect shows up really quickly.

OPI Shatter

I have 3 of these, the black, the white and the silver, and I found that only the silver one gave a really nice shatter effect. The black didn't dry at all, and the white didn't give a nice effect. I would only recommend the silver shatter, but it may have just been mine that didn't work well.

OPI Shatter

These definitely were a trend that has come and gone. I remember when they first came out they were upwards of $30 each, but now pretty sure you can buy for $2 at the Warehouse. They do what they say they will but often its hard to get the whole nail to crack nicely. there are a couple of rules you have to follow to get the desired effect.

1. Must be over nail polish. It will not work if it is over bare nails.

2. The nail polish on your nails must be dry. Will not work if nail polish is tacky.

3. Must be painted on very thin. If it is too thick it wont crack.

I loved it when they first came out - it looks very cool with a glittery colour underneath. But now its a bit of a hassle for me.

Shatters range is okey.

When OPI first introduced them, I just had to have one. I've got the red, black and pink shade. I really like what it does, crackles u the colours and gives it a different look compared to basic nail polish. After the phase wore out from OPI, I can honestly say I am no longer interested, it looks cheap and tacky. I think il just sick to my basic OPI top coat thanks!

Tips: Using a clear top coat over the shatters give it an even more shinier look then dried out.

Overrated

While I thought the concept of shatter was really cool, as it was this new fad and something different, I found that I was underwhelmed with the end result. It can also become streaky if you haven't got enough polish on the brush or the whole thing will stuff up if you go over the same spot twice. The look also hugely depends in what base colour you use. For instance while a dark base colour looks good with the metallics, it looks horrible with blue or pink. This is because the dark colour comes through underneath and just looks like a total mess. I have three of four of these and haven't touched the bottles in like, a year! But if you like the edgy, rocker sort of look then you'll like this :) I did also like the look of a dark blue or black under the metallic gold or silver.

Tips: Be careful with the base colour you choose and be careful when applying it, make sure not to go over placed where you have already applied polish.
