Essie Hard to Resist Advanced Strengthener

My main issue is with peeling nails. As a healthcare worker I'm constantly washing and hand sanitising, so stronger nails would be lovely.

I wore Essie Hard to Resist for 4 days initially, cleaned it off, then reapplied for another 5 days.

I initially loved how easy the applicator brush is to use. I also really like how shiny it makes my nails. It looks like I have a fancy manicure.

It started to chip on day 3, but unlike normal nail polish it didn't peel off a top layer of my nail as well.

My nails definitely feel more resilient, and I feel more confident about trying to grown them out longer than normal.

Next time I apply this product I will use it as a base for normal nail polish and then update this review with the results. I feel like it will provide a nice protective layer against the harshness of nail polish.

This opportunity to review Essie Hard to Resist Advanced Strengthener came at a great time. I had two SNS manicures in a row. Unfortunately the product started splitting off and because I didn't have time to visit the salon, I picked it off, leaving my nails in a terrible condition - they were paper thin. Essie Hard to Resist Advanced Strengthener came to my rescue. I applied Essie Hard to Resist Advanced Strengthener to the nails on my left hand and left my other nails bare. The difference was remarkable. The treated nails were stronger and did not break and split like before. My other nails were just awful. The product goes on easily, dries quickly and my nails have a lovely clear shine. Yes, I am happy to recommend this product and will be happy to repurchase. I was really excited to try the Essie nail strengthener as I’ve got damaged nails from having consistent Gel polish over the past few months, so this trial was great timing! I popped the strengthener onto my nails and they instantly felt smoother and soon felt stronger - they’ve felt a bit rough and flaky lately. The tint is easy to use, spreads well and you don’t need much to get good coverage. My nails were left shiny and not feeling like I was wearing lots of product so they felt really natural. Since using the tint I’ve noticed such a difference in the appearance and feel of my nails and they definitely seem stronger and less prone to breaking/flaking. I’ll definitely continue to use between polishes as a bit of a protectant. The strengthener worked so well I’ve even used on my toes too!

My nails have always been very brittle and weak. They break and bend very easily. I have tried many products but none seem to make a lot of difference. This product feels different. My nails looked healthier and felt stronger after a couple of days. I haven't used this product for long but want to continue with it to see if they continue to improve

I was very happy to receive a sample of Essie Hard to Resist nail polish to trial, my nails are quite weak and have a tendency to split and break just when they're getting to a nice length. I thought I'd really give this a good trial by only applying the polish to one hand and see what the difference would be at the end of ten days. Firstly about the polish itself, it applies nicely and dries very quickly, allow a bit longer for the second coat though. I love the super high gloss of the finish and I'm quite happy to wear ot without any added colour. I have been emoving and reappling a new coat every 3 days. At the end of ten days my 'polished' hand still has a full 10 days of growth without any breaks, my other hand hasn't faired so well with 2 broken nails. There is definitely a difference in strength between the two hands, with the 'polished' one definitely feeling more dense, or thicker. I'm excited to continue using the polish and seeing how it withstands a longer length of nail, currently I'm sporting quite short nails. My daughter is now eyeing up the bottle so I can see this will be well used.

I regularly get gel nails and decided to have a break when I was selected to trial this product - and WOW, I am very impressed with the results. It applies evenly and dries very fast! I found it definitely hardened them and gave them a nice glossy shine. I will continue to use this until I decide to get gels again and buy when I run out.

I often get my nails done and use a different strengthener. The last few months however my nails had become weak because the salon had run out of the strengthener and there have been cases where I've used pure acetone to remove my gel polish. The result? Nails that break, chip and bend easily.

I tested the Essie product over the top of my manicure. Why? Because my nails had started to chip. Although not the intent of the product, I wanted to see if it could hold the chips together while prolonging my mani until my next appointment. In addition to that, I didn't want to use more acetone on my already weak nails.

I love how thick and wide the brush is so there's good coverage on my nailbed without top much fuss. I applied two coats fairly quickly and there was no denying the shine. It gave my 2 week old mani renewed life.

It worked like a charm, the chips didnt get any bigger or wider and I only needed to reapply 2 weeks later when I noticed a thread had snagged on one of the chips. I found my nails didn't bend so easily with the additional coats (which weren't thick coats by any means). I'm looking forward to using this strengthener on my bare nails and would recommend it to others.

My nails are currently in very poor short, soft and peeling condition, so I was so pleased that this product has exceeded my expectations! I applied two coats every two days and my nails looked clean and glossy with the product leaving a strengthened layer to my nails Then remove and repeat, my nails have started growing and my white tips are getting longer! I will continue to use.

I really like this product. I have been trialing it for a few weeks now and I can definitely see a difference in my nails. Firstly they look healthier from the nice clear glossy shine the strengthener gives the nails. They also are growing nicely without any breakage. Usually when my nails grow they get to a certain length and become brittle and break but so far after using this that hasn't happened. It is easy to apply, just apply like polish. It also sets very quickly which is amazing. Nice easy to use packaging. I would definitely recommend giving it a go if you have brittle nails.
