Great range of colours and are very moisturising for your lips, but in saying that besides the smell they have everything Maybelline lipsticks have also but with a much higher price point - could this be down to the luxury image of the entire brand? The one downfall i have found with about 50% of my MAC lipstick purchases is that the colour doesn't last very long on your lips and it bleeds very easily, it is a very much re-apply through the day/night commitment (especially when eating). ll in all i think they are a great lipstick to own & wear but if you are on a tighter budget or would prefer two for the price of one other brands do stack up so give them a go! :)

Tips: Use a lip liner (my preferred is clear) to avoid outer lip stains or bleed.
Love the colour range that MAC has, they are always very striking to me! Their lipsticks are good. but I feel they don't last as long as some other cheaper products I have used.
Tips: Got to love it to buy it
I won't deny that there is a lippy colour for everyone out there at MAC. They have them all. The lipsticks smell and look great. However, I find them difficult to apply compared to a lot of others, they just don't slide on as easily in my opinion. But apart from that and that the packaging makes them look like tampons, I think these lippys are right up there with the best of the best
I have recently purchased 5 MAC Lipstick shades and have found that the lipsticks are not very long wearing and has to be reapplied constantly throughout the say. However there is a huge colour range to choose from. I do feel that these lipsticks are over priced simply because of its label. I feel there are other cheaper brands which are just as good if not better.
Tips: Could try dusting translucent powder over the top of the lipstick to set it in place and try make it last longer.
I've just purchased Fresh Moroccan (frosty finish) from the the Mac store after trying out a few colours while waiting to be served, just couldn't resist this deep mauve lippy with a slight gold shimmer. So $40 later I owned it. The pigment is really deep and makes your lips look full and glossed up. Don't need to keep applying over and over to get depth, it just goes on so easily and stays on until I eat, drink or lick it off. This one though has a slight grainy feel to it and not as smooth as some of my other ones. It actually has a nice smell to it too but can't say what it smells like but after a while the smell disappears. I would like to buy another one but after reading they have forty different colours, that's going to take me a while to choose. I think $40 is a lot of money for a lipstick that comes in packaging that could look a little more classier but then that's my opinion.
Tips: Need to reapply after eating and drinking.
I tend to go for very bold colours (Lady Danger, Cyber, Viva Glam) and my main concern is if the colour will be consistent throughout the day - which it is. I also sometimes combine 2 colours to get a different shade.
With matte colours that I use, the lips can feel quite dry after a few hours if you don't apply balm before hand.
I do notice a bit of bleeding as the day progresses but normally only after 4 or 5 hours. Mostly stand up well to eating/ drinking.
Tips: I often get a white line where my lips meet after a few hours of wearing lipstick or gloss so find it easier to just wipe off that area and reapply, rather than start over.
Generally avoid MAC as I find it overpriced for what it is however I can't go past a mac lippy! MAC is the only lipstick I will use as I find it long lasting and love their range of shades. I don't generally suit a red lip as it is too severe on me and tried so many shades, however when I was in Sydney I had a MAC makeup artist help me find a similar colour more suited to my fair skin 'morange' is the perfect match! It is more of an orangey red and makes my brown eyes and freckles stand out in a flattering way.
I was given a Mac lipstick for my birthday, Russian Red Matte and I love it! The packaging is nice and I love how the casing looks like a bullet. It is very pigmented, the colour is amazing a bright and I only need one coat. It is a great long wear lipstick. Next time I would probably get more of a creme formula as it is very dry on my lips. I would definitely recommend Mac lipsticks to all my friends. They make you feels special and I think they are worth the money. I can't wait to get a new one!
Tips: Use a lip liner, especially with the darker colours. I like to sometimes use a gloss over the top for a different finish
I fell in love with MAC lipsticks after I bought my first one two years ago. It was in the shade "snob" and is probably one of my favourite shades to date. I love the extent of the colours that they offer. I guess my only complaint is the texture of them. They are really drying so I find using something else with them is usually best, whether its a primer, lip balm or a gloss over top. I just cant stand it when my lips get all flaky from wearing it.
Tips: Take it with you, when heading out! You will need to re-apply!
I have the Russian Red and Sounds Like Noise matte lipsticks and I adore the colours, they're both really vibrant, strong colours that get me heaps of compliments. The only problem is that for the price it just doesn't last that long. It's great colour though if you keep it touched up throughout the day.
Tips: Keep it on hand at all times and wait until after you've eaten to put it on because otherwise it'll be gone instantly.
