November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month (purple ribbon).
Sadly, cancer does not care how young or how old a person is, and pancreatic cancer is often only detected in the later stages because of where it is and how the symptoms develop and present (they are often misdiagnosed, sometimes for years). I lost my Mom to pancreatic cancer 12 years ago, a few days before Mother’s Day, she was only 53, and had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer eight months before she died. Every November I paint my nails with a purple ribbon. These are the ones I did this morning - pastel purple and white ombre with holographic glitter and a purple ribbon.
