Me it would be lipbalm. I only really need three or two. One with a high spf for daytime, one (preferably with spf) that wears well under lippies and a super moisturizing one for night. I actually use up the ones I have opened completely and then replace them when I'm gonna finish thm up or I really want that gwp and wouldn't use any of the other products that would qualify towards the gwp. But even then I have a hard time justifying spending more than say 8-15 bucks on a lip balm unless I know it's incredible.
I have gotten some as gwp items or in a beauty loop box. Ironically over the last couple of months I've had hayfever and the tops of my lips have gotten rubbed raw and are chronically dry even though I do apply alot of lip balm. So maybe there's a benefit to being a lipbalm hoarder. What are your products that you can easily say no to hoarding that you know that other people collect like crazy?

What Beauty Items Are Good At Only Buying a Few of That Some People Tend to Hoard?

I hoard everything. I have back ups of my back ups. Sad really, I have a problem really.
But then again, I always have hands on gifts for my friends and eventually I use everything I have and I don’t spend money on other things much, like these are my treats, I don’t drink for example and I don’t socialise enough, so don’t go out for coffees, dinners etc.

Me too Susilia. I can count on one hand the number of times in the past couple of years I've spent money on food out and probably the times I've had alcohol as well. I prefer to spend money on beauty products and stuff that lasts longer than ten minutes so yeah. People wonder how I can afford to spend $30-$50 on a product truth is I don't drink barely ever and I don't eat out.
For years I was really good at not hoarding brow products, I had like three or four brow items which was all I had but then because I used them all the time I felt the need to stock up and buy more (because I like buying makeup and had to find something to hoard) and so a couple months ago I banned myself from buying more, particularly brow powder. I got like one little 0.03g sample of Benefit's Goof Proof Brow Pencil I've been using 3-6 times a week since July and I still have plenty left.
Mascara would be another one I'm good at not hoarding. I have very few and very short stubby lashes and tubing mascaras are the only mascaras that have proved consistently reliable. I do get minis as gwp items and so I never felt the need to hoard them. When I do an order from Tarte I do like to spend about a dollar and get one if there's the option to buy a deluxe mini with my order also because they make great gifts but other than that I've only bought mascara for myself like twice this year, okay three times if you count the vault earlier this year.
I would say for the last 5-6 years I've been good at not hoarding shampoo and conditioner. I discovered Ethique (Sorbet when I found them) and I've mostly would rotate between two of the shampoo bars and one conditioner bar and one bottle of hair oil. I do have some a couple of hair masks but I'm working to use them up.
I've made a conscious effort to not hoard products in this last year, previously I'd been wasting a lot of money buying in bulk, but not actually getting around to using things!
And I've always been bad at not quite using products up, and hoarding an unfinished bottle while opening a new one. I did recently notice I had 3 tubes of pawpaw ointment, so have only replaced it with one tube when I finished them all.
im trying to be more conscious of wastage and over production of plastics etc - so hoarding is hopefully a thing of the past for me.

I have a drawer full of beauty items you could say I've hoarded. Fake tan products, moisturizers, cleansers, but also several of those free makeup bags containing products from Natio, Trilogy, Oasis etc. I am a sucker for the free gift with purchase offers, and also the 'buy 2 get one free" deals, but when birthdays or Christmas comes around I have lots of little pressies to give.
I'm crazy for GWP too. I often prefer a good GWP to a discount as I feel I get more dollar value for it than say getting the item I want 15 bucks cheaper. My fave gwp items are when I get to try something I've been wanting to try for awhile or when the gwp looks like an advent beauty calendar (see my photowall for the Cultbeauty gwp and the origins one) or it has alot of fullsized products.
I'm still using up soaps from Lush gift boxes I bought years ago and before I stopped using hand wash. My friend also gave me lots of Loccitane soaps off the cruise they were on, back when cruises were a thing! Despite all the hand washing this year I still have heaps of it. Shower gel is always in over abundance even though I don't buy that either? I'm trying to use up my back up cleansers so I only have my favourite three on the go lol.
Umm yeah. So I think the only thing I'm good at not collecting is foundation, concealer (don't even have a full size of one of those now as I don't really is it), shampoo and conditioner.
