Happy New Year everybody! I hope you all had a good night and aren't feeling too delicate this morning! I think I will be hunting out a big carton of coconut water this afternoon lol.

Amazing NY here in Vanuatu! Unlimited drinks, great food, and an incredible fireworks display off a barge at midnight!

Have spent the day so far alternating between walking, swimming, reading and I'm now in the shade for a bit bc have had a fair bit of sun this week.

TOTALLY recommend Vanuatu :)

Happy 2020! One and all! Watched the fireworks in the city and got home at 2am, no drinkies for me being sober driver. Oh well i'll have one tonight.

That sounds amazing @trudi. I must admit when I think of the islands I never think of Vanuatu. Is it expensive?

Nah not too bad. I'm at an amazing resort - literally on its own island, so super safe, not crowded, one massive pool complex and an adults only infinity pool, casino, beaches, range of bars and restaurants etc. it has its own ferry and is only about 20 mins from the airport. Its cost me about $2500 including transfers and the $200/person New Years party. Food and drink are resort prices so not super cheap but not terrible, breakfast is included (and amazing) and the whole things super beautiful.  You should see my Instagram right now!  Tonight's my last night; I've been here 4.

I think if I were here longer I'd have done a couple of the awesome sounding half day tours, but am v content with my holiday :)

Oh and Port Vila is a 3 minute ferry ride away, and it's a real experience in and of itself!

stupidly cheap duty free though... I got 1L each of Johnnie Walker for my brother, and Absolut Mango and Gordon's Pink Gin for me, for $52 NZD!
