Does anyone else consider BR a legit hobby?

Recently on  a work trip to Aussie I was in the position of having to name my main hobby and identifier.  I ended up with 'Hi I'm Trudi and I love makeup.  My hobby is reading and writing product reviews.

Í bet I'm not the only one :p

I would.  It comes up in conversation pretty much every single time that I'm gasbagging to my non-BR friends.  'BR this, BR that...'.   I talk about it in the same way that they might gas bag to me about running or books or movies.  You've got to love something that makes you so darn happy :)

Yeah I consider it a legitimate hobby. How else could I explain why most of my free time is spent on this site?

Yes totally. Because if the husband can spend hundreds a year and hours and weekends of his time on BAGPIPES, I can spend a few hours a week looking at pretty make up and playing with pretty make up

Totally, I didn't really have any hobbies until BR, now I can't stay away and have met (well virtually lol, but hoping to in the future) some amazing lovelies, and feel so blessed to be part of such an amazing family x

Absolutely!! My husband is now "down with the lingo"
He reckons he would do great reviews. Not sure myself what he would write tho. He even tries to impress me with giving me his farmer tips for beauty care. Ie there was one about a shower softening his hands then apply moisturizers for soft skin.
He throws into convo my makeup brands and pedicure and manicures.
I had to ring him about a beauty product I had at home, next thing he's giving me a rundown of beauty products in my makeup room.
He tries to show a interest like I do with his tracrors

I would have been hard pressed to come up with hobbies a year ago and now BR, makeup, skincare and beauty products are certaily one of my biggest hobbies. When people comment on my makeup or beauty habits its nice to be able to explain it away as a hobby! My husband is into geeky things and I'm into beauty products same diff to me.

Definitely. This is probably one of my only hobbies and I don't really have a lot of friends that I can't talk to about this stuff.
Definitely a hobby I am passionate about.  And a bonus that I have made many friends, who all stay in touch everyday :-) x

This a hobby I think, in some ways no different from scrap booking. For the supplies paper = make up, photo album = reviews and forum. Fortunately I don't like scrap booking but like make up.

He he he Farmers-Wife, hubby is so cute and adorable. Great that the also wants to be a part of it, mine just rolls his eyes and walks away because he knows he's not going to get much conversation out of me once I log on lol x

oh I never even looked at BR as a hobby, but I suppose it is. I'm pretty sure I'm addicted through.

It is my hobby, everyone arounds me knows about BR and my love of makeup even the husband encourages and gets excited for me when a new parcel arrives of goodies.  I've gone from just liking makeup before I joined BR to having hoards of beauty products littering the house and in overcramped drawers but yet I still buy more so much so that when we are looking for houses that we are set to buy this year both the husband and I state "oh great a small room next to the master bedroom, perfect for a makeup room" Its more of a hobby though I love BR and I'm so thankful for all the experience it has given me through informative articles, exposure to new brands and products, trials, vault, and the beauty box.  But almost even more important is the people of BR that I regulary chat too its a whole new world of socialising for me.  So yes it is a legit hobby and I even have this as a sentence in my profile lol

Ooooh I guess I now officially have a hobby! Good to know. I always come up empty when thinking of my extracurricular activities hehe. Especially next to my partner who is a real action man.

I love when you ladies mention that your men get into what you're doing with makeup and they get excited for your parcels of goodies. It just sounds so cute and makes me feel fuzzy inside haha

Most definately :) ...  I spend more time on this site than anyother .. I've learnt so much about everything from NZ brands to techniques and my skincare has drastically improved over my time on here.  My makeup/skincare collection has definatley grown to so my wallet may not be as happy with my love for BR as I am :)
One of my favourite past times :)

I wouldn't call BR itself a hobby (I have very limited time to spend on here, so you might have noticed my posts are not very long) but I would call my overall skincare and makeup obsession a hobby. One I mostly keep to myself though :)

Now that you mention it Jessicka it's probably more of an addiction for me too.

Only yous would understand this as a hobby, sadly my family and friends have different views about what hobbies are so BR isnt normally mentioned. But my love for BR is huge! My hubby and children know what BR is all about and refers to it as my a part time job lol

Oh course it's a legitimate hobby If something makes you happy, it's productive in some way and your not hurting anyone then any hobby is good for you.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Hahahaha can we also consider it a public service? We are saving the world from bad beauty purchases one review at a time! YAY!

Go us. Let's all reward ourseleves with a new goodie and an adult beverage.

We are awesome.

Makeup is definetely a hobby. For me, it is one of my (many) secondary ones. But I can easily relate it to my main hobby - Embroidery:

Both use colour, texture & have techniques to master. Learning takes time and practise. There are people out there who make a living out of it - and I envy them.
It has a history and cultural differences as well.

I can see why I'm drawn to BR.

Yes!!
I definitely consider BR a hobby.
I have found myself wishing I had more time to explore the Site haha Lucky for me it's fairly quiet at work today so I am doing a bit of catch up now.
Though I need to be a little careful about the amount of time I am online at work, they'll end up blocking the access to BR & then I'd be screwed!

I have to agree, it is totally a legit hobby!  Considering I've just got the babies to sleep and the big kids are heading out with hubby, I'm now camped on my bed with the laptop and a cuppa on the BR site!  ;)
