I've always wanted one of these so when my last straightener stopped working as effectively I got one of these and it is cool.
What I like best about it is is that it's quick and easy and it gives my hair an extra brush at the same time.
I section my hair off just like I would with a normal straightener as I find that smaller sections straighten better.
Stylistically it looks like a paddle brush. You need to make sure you get your hair properly into the bristles and flat against the brush as this is where you get the optimal heat.
I have long relatively thick hair, so thought I would give this a go over straightening irons. It heated up really quickly (dont be alarmed by the noise it makes while heating, they did thankfully warn you about that in the manual) so I simply took the top half of my hair and tied it up to get to the bottom layer and brushed away after a few brushes on each part of my hair it was time to do the top so brushed all that out and it was done! Total time about 10 minutes compared to the 30mins it generally takes me with the straighteners by the time you only do little segments at a time. So yes I found the brush really good on long hair. After a haircut though when I cut the bulk of my hair off to above shoulders I found it wasn't as effective it still worked ok but I think it's better if you have longer heavier hair
Tips: Only use on dry hair
