Stellar line-up

First up, loved it! My skin has major sensitivities and also builds up intolerances to products very, very quickly. I used to use Trilogy a lot but as a poor student I had to change as it was out of my budget. This could sway me back though.

Each product perfectly compliments the others, but could also be used separately.

It is all gentle, effective and lovely on the skin. It didn't clog my skin, didn't irritate it, and helped soothe and heal my skin. I was really worried about it as I have eczema around my eyes, but it was gentle and soothing.

I had comments on my skin for the first time in forever! My husband said it looked smoother and much less red and irritated.

While I'm not a huge fan of the glass (the sensitive range used to be in tubes which meant product wasn't exposed to oxygen etc), or the little spatulas (I get that it's to stop contamination but honestly, it's annoying and time consuming and I had to keep chasing the kids to get them back :P ), I can see the benefit re plastic packaging. I took the range away for a week-long tangi and not one product smashed or leaked so the glass is tough.

A great range for those fellow sensitive-skin sufferers. This was a pleasant surprise and Trilogy is on to a winner with this range. A+++

Tips: A little goes a long way!

Finally A Sensitive Range That Works

I’ll be honest, the thought of using so many products from one range and using them religiously freaked me out a bit as I’m used to using a couple of products and usually from different brands.

Packaging- I love the colours they have used, simple yet sophisticated. This tells me that the quality of the product has not been compromised by having over the top packaging. Each product came in its own box and had its own unique pump, jar or dropper which was in line with how the product needed to be applied. I loved how they supplied you with little black spatulas so you didn’t have to put your fingers in the jars, great for keeping hygienic.

Directions – What I found useful was that each box had the directions stated on them but also had the directions on each product itself which is helpful if you are like me and sometimes throw out the instructions by mistake. They were easy to use instructions, nothing fancy, just straight to the point, advising you which other product to use next or before. I would have liked to have seen a Step By Step instruction though, i.e. which product to use first, next etc.

Fragrance – The one thing I react with having sensitive skin is fragrance so I was a bit anxious about how the fragrance would react with my skin. I didn’t need to worry though as there wasn’t any distinctive scent, no perfumes or talc’s present, just natural smelling scents. I didn’t have any reaction to any of these products which is a huge bonus for me.

Use of Products – Morning: I started with the Creamy Cleanser, which was lovely and creamy. then the Calming Serum (which is more a cream serum than an oil one) then followed by the Moisturising Cream (which is quite thick and heavy). Evening – I used the Creamy Cleanser again, but this time I applied the Restoring Oil (not a thick oil but not watery either) which was followed by the Moisturising Cream for extra hydration. I applied a tiny dab of the Eye Cream (a nice creamy consistency not too thick or thin) under each eye using my pinky finger, careful to avoid getting it too close to my eyes. I used the Hydro-Mask (a lovely thick and hydrating mask, smells really nice) a couple of times each week.

Overall Thoughts and Results – I was actually pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed applying all these products. Usually I would find it way too much to do every day morning and night, but my skin looks clearer, more firm and toned and hardly any blemishes at all. So a good improvement to how it was when I first started. I will be reviewing each individual product in the range for a more detailed review in a few more days once I've really given them the full trial possible. Sadly these products do not contain SPF so you will need to add this in.

The products will last quite a long time as they are all generous sizes. And for the length of time using them, the price is actually quite reasonable. I’m excited to keep using these to see what other results I will see.

Tips: Sometimes the thought of buying all products in the range can be daunting and pretty expensive. So if you can only purchase a few and not all, I would recommend definitely getting the Cleanser, Moisuriser, Calming Serum and/or the Restoring Oil as I believe these work really well when used together. The others are amazing too which you can add in if you feel your budget will allow at a later date. All of these products compliment each other so if you can afford them all, definitely purchase them.

Hurrah for a truly sensitive range… Trilogy

Having sensitive skin is like having young children - the way it behaved yesterday is often no way related to how it will be today! My bathroom cupboard is witness to a fair line-up of partially used tubes and bottles, that haven’t proved suitable. So, I was eagerly anticipating trialling the Trilogy range for sensitive skin, while prepared for more of the same.

I’ve used the range for almost 3 weeks now – I am very pleased to say that I have finally found one that has made the grade! Six products that work very well together, and will oust many of the other residents in my cabinet. Thanks BR for the opportunity to try this lovely NZ range.

The packaging for the whole range is quality amber coloured glass jars/ bottles within a smart recyclable packaging. Certified natural, they are unfragranced, (but you can smell some of the oils in there) and have all sorts of goodies including antioxidants, soothers & ingredients that support your skin and calm it down. Note that the range does not have any SPF in it, so you’ll need to get your protection from another product. This may be a good thing as I’ve found many skin products with added SPF cause problems with my sensitive skin.

The products range between RRP $43.99-52.99, so not cheap – I read it described somewhere as “an investment”. However, these products really do work together beautifully with sensitive skin. My favourites were the cleanser, moisturiser and eye cream. The serum and the hydra-mask followed, then the oil. It’s hard to tell whether you could get as good a result without using the whole lot together. I estimate that there’s probably around 4 -6 months supply in each product, judging by my current use. (More for the hydra-mask as I’ve been using 1-2 times per week.). I have individually reviewed the 6 products in more detail if you want to check them out.

Tips: If you can’t buy all at once or unsure of some of the products, buy the basic 3 (cleanser, moisturiser, eye cream) and then the others as your budget allows. A little product definitely goes a long way so be sparing in your application.

Some great skin-saving products

Overall, I have enjoyed trialling this range, and it came at the right time for me - I had the flu, in the middle of winter, and my skin was really dry, chapped, flushed, and awful looking. My skin reacts badly to some products with harsh ingredients, and I'm prone to redness and dry spots. This range has definitely healed my skin from the winter-flu-ravages, and left it in better condition. I have been really impressed at the calming properties of the serum and oil - it instantly calms my skin down when flushed from red wine or disagreeable products. I will be absolutely buying those again. However, I won't be buying the the moisturizing cream - it's too thick and heavy, and doesn't absorb adequately. It may be good for extremely dry skin however. The eye cream was average - not long-lasting enough for me, and the cleanser fine for the mornings, but not great at removing end-of-the-day product. I do love this brand, and have been overall impressed with how gentle yet effective the range is. Please see my reviews for each individual product if interested.

Trilogy Sensitive Range.

First of all i would like to thank the BR team for the opportunity to trial this range. I think we all know that Trilogy is a quality brand. This is evident in all the products and is also true of this range. All of the products contain macqui berry and all except the Facial oil contain Syricalm (see above info), and they all come in gorgeous brown frosted glass bottles or pots. The products that come in pots also come with little spatulas for hygienic removal. First the Very Gentle Cleansing Cream. This comes in a generously sized 200ml pump bottle and also contains camellia. White in colour and unscented, this beautiful cream cleansed my makeup off really well. Next was the Very Gentle Calming Serum. This also contains Calendula and is designed to be used after cleansing, before moisturising and/or during flare ups. In a 30ml bottle that comes with a pump, thin in consistency and unscented, this delivers a calming little moisture surge. The Very Gentle Eye Cream comes in 25ml pot and has Aloe Vera. A really pale yellow colour, i found that this caused my eyes to sting by the afternoons. I'm not sure if this was because it is quite oily or maybe i applied too much. Because of this issue, I use this at night. The Very Gentle Moisturising Cream has calendula and comes in a 60ml pot. White in colour, this is a beautiful moisturising cream that leaves my skin feeling soft and calm. I use this in the morning after applying the serum. My favourite product in the range would have to be the Very Gentle Restoring Oil. Golden coloured and smelling slightly of sesame oil(?), this contains apricot kernel oil and sea buckthorn oil. I know that these oils are really good after sun exposure, so i use three drops at night after serum application. Three drops is enough to cover my face, neck and decolletage. 30ml bottle that comes with a dropper. Lastly there is the Very Gentle Hydra-Mask. In a 60 ml pot and containing sweet almond oil, this is a lemon coloured pot of moisture. This product left my skin feeling ultra hdrated. While none of these products are particularly anti ageing, they will leave sensitive skin super plump with moisture. Like really, really hydrated. And to me, this helps to keep the wrinkles at bay. My skin was left calm and apart from the stinging eyes, no irritation.

Tips: Rub any of the leftover products into the back of your hands to deliver a little boost of goodies to the skin there.

Sensitive Skin Range

I was so excited to try out these products, unfortunately for my skin majority of the range wasn't a hit.

Personally I found the Cleansing Cream made my skin break out so discontinued use, but it was great at removing eye make up like it says on the packet.

The Moisturising Cream I found to heavy for my skin so did not get to use it as often as the other products.

The Very Gentle Calming Serum is nice and light. Although maybe i had a faulty lid as it was difficult to push and when i did the product went everywhere.

The Gentle Hydra-Mask was nice. Each time my face just absorbed the mask which made me feel like it was working. Once wiped away it left me feeling hydrated.

Very Gentle Eye Cream is the favourite of them all for me it is the perfect addition to my morning routine. Light, calming, soothing and the perfect relief after a broken night's sleep.

Very Gentle Restoring Oil made my skin feel beautifully moisturised but also made me slightly break out. I continued use as it's a lovely little hit of moisture.

They come in a lovely glass, matte type bottle or tub. Most have either no smell or a very faint pleasant smell.

Tips: Make sure you definitely use a face cloth to wash the Cleansing Cream off.

Moisture Delivering Skin Saviours!!

Very excited to trial this skin care range, I am the queen of sensitive skin. This range is fantastic at delivering moisture, and not irritating in the slightest. The packaging is glass, the only plastic is on the lids and the pump bottles. Because these are glass they have a substantial weight, adding to the feel that this is more higher end than supermarket products. Easy to identify in the Trilogy range, we have the white stripe on the label, and these products look good next to the bed or in the bathroom, simple, yet substantial. A total of six items in this range, if you are needing anti ageing, this is not it, but for moisturising, calming and soothing from a skincare range, This .Is. It. I used the Very Gentle Eye Cream first, in a glass jar, this is a very light, not at all greasy, easily absorbed eye cream, with no scent and comes with a small plastic scoop to save on product usage. No SPF though. I love how this is not greasy. Next was the Very Gentle Calming Serum, I liked how it was more of a light lotion than a serum, pump applicator, and not oily like other serums on the market. Great also on the back of the hands. Performs better than other high end serums I have used before, delivers moisture really well. Again no SPF. The Very Gentle Hyrda-Mask was thick and creamy, it looks yellow, and is a super rich leave on mask, very good for extremely dry skin. No scent, and I found no need to moisturise after using this. The Very Gentle Moisturising cream is in jar form, it is calming and really hydrating, I find the texture a bit heavy for daily use, would be fantastic for mature dry skin though. Very Gentle Restoring Oil would have to be my least favourite from the range, unfortunately I found this to be like other oils on the market, I know it's an oil, but honestly, for me, oil sits on top of the skin, hardly absorbs, and I cannot like the greasiness of it all, in saying that, if you like using oils, this is for you, but I will pass. The Very Gentle Cleansing Cream was like the dark horse of the range, this is like a rinse off moisturiser, not a foamy or gel cleanser, my skin was not left tight after using this, and it removes my makeup well. Pump type applicator, and no scent. A really nice cleanser to use. The eye cream, cleanser and the calming serum are my favourites, the range was so good for my skin, and some of them I will continue to use. You will also need to use an SPF with this range.

Tips: Use the mask sparingly if you are prone to oily skin.
