Adore it just like everyone else...

Recently when I was in Wellington I took the opportunity to go to the BeautyBliss store... something about being on holiday meant that I felt I could go all out on some new goodies. I have been wanting to try the Beauty Blender for ages, I don't know why as I haven't been impressed with the Real Techniques or Bossy Cosmetics dupes, but I am so glad that I have tried the real thing now! In the wee pack I received the pink beautyblender, the black one, the mini green one, and the new refresh liquid.

So I don't really know where to start with the rave review of this product. I have absolutely been adoring using this. The only thing I hate about it is that I will eventually have to purchase another one. I thought initially that moistening it in the morning would be a pain, but now I just run it under water in the morning as I'm popping the kettle on and I'm good to go. It picks up just the right amount of product and seems to apply it flawlessly, making it flawless on the skin. I love that it never leaves any streak marks like brushes can. I have been using the rounded end to pop the foundation over my face and then I use the side to sort of bop around to pick up any extra product if I have gone overboard. I have found that I haven't had the best luck with cleaning it. I don't know if I just don't have the technique down yet but I never seem to be able to get all of the product out. I do think you need to be a wee bit careful when cleaning as the first time I did it I managed to rip it a tiny bit with my nail. What makes it better than the other dupe beauty blenders is how soft it is, I have found with the others you can't get the right light application as you can't use the 'bopping' motion to apply the product softly.

I really love this product I don't think I will be be going back to brushes anytime soon as it really makes my foundation application flawless.

I just bought one from the beauty bliss sale, I can't wait to give it a go and compare textures. I love the flat side of the rt sponge so I'm curious to see how this goes.

Yes I have tried he real techniques one. It was to hard and not the right shape compared to this one. I hate how much I love it.

Great for on the go or travel.

These wee sponges are so simple but work so well. They blend perfectly and smoothly. They are great for travel or keeping in your bag for any quick fixes for makeup mishaps because of their small size.

A Perfect Blend

To be honest when I first heard about the Original Beautyblender I dismissed it, assuming it would work just as well as cheap sponges from the supermarket, almost content with simply smothering on my makeup with my bare fingers.

I received it recently as a birthday gift, and haven't turned back since. Loved it from the first application! It was so satisfying seeing my foundation perfectly blended in with such ease. You don't really realise what you're missing out on until you try something that actually works, and the Original Beautyblender works.

Some may be hesitant to invest in a more expensive option, but from my own experience I was throwing out my sponges every fortnight. I was going through heaps, and burning a hole in my pocket while I was at it! I haven't needed any other applicators for my concealer and foundations

Tips: Use the larger areas of the Beautyblender for the larger areas of your face - cheeks, forehead, chin, etc. Make sure to use the smaller tip to get the more difficult to reach places, such as the inner corners of the eyes.

Wash it at least once a week to get the most out of it!

Nothing compares!

I brought the original pink version with the cleanser for around $48 The price initially put me off buying for a long time however I definitely don't regret it. Without proper tools to apply make-up even the most expensive foundation will look cheap and this is why you need to invest in the beauty blender.

The sponge is a good size and fits nicely into the palm of my hand. It is very simple to use, simply fill with water, squeeze out excess and away you go! It feel almost like a marshmallow which I like as it's very gentle on your skin, never tugs or feels rough.

I use the wider base of the sponge for larger areas of my face, like the forehead and cheeks, and the pointed tip works best for precise, hard-to-reach spots like underneath your eyes or around your nose. This really does give you the most flawless skin. I have noticed some pink dye leaks out when cleaning the sponge however this is normal. Probably the only negative about this sponge is you do tend to use a bit more product.

Tips: Clean regularly (once a week) to get the most life out of the sponge.

Revolutionised my make-up application

Whether or not you are someone who invests in their make-up brushes or not, or even if you use your hands to apply your make up, I guarantee that once you try the beauty blender you will wonder what you did before it.

I use the round end to apply my foundation, I put the foundation straight into the sponge and dab it onto my skin until blended evenly. I then apply my concealer/highlighter with a brush and use the pointed end of the sponge to blend it in.

The finish I achieve is so flawless, and because I am dabbing with the sponge it sucks away any excess product and avoids brush strokes.

The sponge is very soft with almost a rubbery feel to it, when damp it becomes a lot more 'squishy'. It's best to use it when it's damp as it stops it absorbing too much make-up.

Tips: Use warm water and a little liquid soap to clean your beauty blender and once a month sit in a bowl, cover with boiling water and put in the microwave for a couple of minutes to kill any germs

my favourite!

I have been through a crazy amount of sponges, even resorting to buying off eBay to find the perfect sponge! Unfortunately for me, everyone I purchased off there, were too hard. Even wetting them before use didn't make much of a difference either. I was still struggling to find the perfect sponge!

Okay, so looking at the price, I knew I wasn't ever going to be able to afford one of these. Thankfully my sister bought me one of these from over seas!

The texture of this sponge is great. It is soft, making it easy to apply and blend make up perfectly. I always wet the sponge before use, because I find it blends your make up better, and it makes it a lot easier to clean make up off after wards. The rain-drop shape makes it perfect to use under your eyes as well, I find this really helpful when blending concealer underneath the eye area.

Because the sponge is soft, it makes it easy to perfectly blend make up. For me, in the past, I have struggled constantly to find something that works well enough to leave my face looking flawless and not cakey.

Yes the price is a bit high, but after receiving this for free, I know thay the money will be well spent. I have only so far washed it 3 times since I have used it and it is still in perfect condition!

Blends so well I can't even

This was so expensive I was like expecting this to be amazing and it was. I love this and when I use liquid foundation and contour I need this. It helps so much and it's so much better than brushes and like does it so well. I clean it after everytime and I love the bright colour! The tip helps so much and getting that straight line for your liner is so easy like wow I need 10 of these things

Seeing the price definitely put me off for a long time but after everyone kept raving about it I had to get one......... and I have never looked back l!!!! Makes your foundation glide on, you can get concealer right into those little corners. It's a godsend or people who have struggled to perfect there foundation.

The original Beauty Blender

I have the real techiques (RT) sponge, and wanted to see if this was really worth 2.5 times the price (as I already loved my RT one!)

This has a more squishy texture than the RT. This means that when you bounce it across the surface of your skin to blend out foundation, that it covers more surface area at a time (because of its compressibility). More surface area = job done a lot quicker. This also soaks up less product than my RT one thereby saving me money on foundation. Finally, this is less "wet" when dampened than my RT sponge. This means that it wont sheer your makeup out excessively and is also more hygienic as the sponge will dry quicker when washed.

Although I do absolutely think this is an improvement on the RT one, I think that I would be just as happy paying a lot less; being that the original beautyblender has only small improvements over the RT one. I think if money is no question- this is your guy. But, if like me you are on a beauty budget, then the RT one is more than sufficient.
