Steals all the Glory!

I first heard became aware of Soap and Glory after seeing Mrs Lissy's haul on the photo wall from her trip over to the UK. This sparked my first interest in it. After seeing a thread on the forum about Soap and Glory; and there was a sale on at the same time I decided to take full advantage of it. All this talk about it lead me to make a purchase.

First of all the size of this body butter is so huge. It is the biggest body butter pot I've ever tried. The design of this pot is bright pink and has retro writing on it. I love the quirky sayings on it, its catchy and fun. The texture of this butter is thick and white and very creamy. The scent of it reminds me of sweet citirus fruits with a hint of gardenia in the background. I've never smelled a scent so vibrant and fresh.

When I apply this I find it so simple to get in and out of this pot. This body butter feels smooth and sinks into my skin well. I don't have a greasy after feel. I feel so hydrated.

My results on my skin is that my skin is smoother on my legs. I notice I'm not as dry as what I was. Its been over four weeks and I have plenty of product to use. Its great value for your money even at full price. If your into vibrant scents, this will definitely be for you. I highly recommend trying it. Its so good.

Soap and Glorious

This body butter has been a favourite amongst the forum beauties. I hummed and harred over it the last time I saw it in Postie (I have a lot of panning I still need to do!) and then of course, it sold out. When I saw it in a gift pack at a big bucket sale, I finally gave in.

I've always admired Soap and Glory's cute vintage style packaging whenever I've seen it on sale overseas. It's comes in a particular pleasing shade of pink! The 50ml plastic tub is easy to open. The first thing that hits you when opening it is the glorious smell. I'm terrible at describing smells so the best I can come up with is that "it smells like expensive perfume". It is quite strong though and I like my body lotions/butters to be in the same scent family as my perfumes. So I find this quite hard to team with a perfume without it completing so tend to use it alone.

Despite being a thick butter, it absorbs almost instantly leaving beautifully soft, silky skin. It appears to have a slight luminosity to it, making the skin look instantly better. And a little goes a long way. I can see myself buying more of this now that it's a bit easier to come by, with Mecca Maxima opening soon in Wellington (just take all my money now....)

Tips: Not just for very dry skin. Even 'normal' skin will love this.

Absolutely LOVE!

I brought this from Postie Plus, on a whim. It was $15 for 450ml, which I thought was amazing for the prize. A good body butter is normal way morre expensive than this. The packaging is awesome, bright pink with a 50s styled lady (i think.....its cool anyway) Just like any body butter, the product is quite thick, which I love for winter. It is so moisturizing and it lasts all day! I would compare it to the body shop body butters (which I love) and I'd say it is just as good! This just softens your skin and makes it feel luscious. When I first brought it, I couldn't put my finger on what the fragrance was: now that I know it is "Original Pink" it still doesn't clear that up for me, but that doesn't matter, I like the smell anyway :) I've got a feeling though, that the smell is not going to be everyone's cup of tea. So if you're looking for a great body butter, decent price and great value for money, get this product. Try looking a Postie Plus first before buying online :)

Tips: Slather on after exfoliating.....honestly, you'll be so soft afterwards!

Such a great butter

I bought this tub at the end of last year when it was heavily mentioned on the forum and available super cheap at postie plus (I unfortunately haven't seen it stocked in there since although I have looked quite a few times). I did try to use this in the summer but I found it was a bit too heavy for my liking with the heat so I put it away until now to use.

This comes in a massive pink pot. It's 450mls so you get a lot of product and it was super cheap as well. Around $10 I think, possibly less as I think I got it with a buy two, get one free deal. The labelling is cute, I feel like even though it's quite wordy, you want to read it.

When you open this, you are immediately hit with a strong, perfumed scent. I think they call this their original scent? I'm not totally sure. I'd describe it as being a mix of fresh and sweet. It's not overly candy sweet but there is definitely a hint there. I think this would appeal to a lot of people as it's not overly obnoxious.

This says it's for dry skin and keeps you hydrated for longer. That is exactly what I'm looking for in any kind of lotion or butter. I feel like this does what it says too, no scaley body for me. I find that although this is thick, it rubs in pretty easily. It does leave me with a slightly sticky feeling straight after but it does go away pretty quickly.

I've used up around half of this tub so far, I'd love to buy it again if I ever saw it for sale. I always live in hope that postie will be stocking it when I go in. I'd recommend picking one up if you ever see it too, especially if you have dry skin and what something thicker than a lotion.

Oh Yes!

Surely the picture of the packaging writes this review itself? This glorious pink tub is filled with thick and creamy, girly goodness that cannot be faulted.

The tub is almost identical to The Body Shop limited edition jumbo body butter tubs: large and sturdy with an easy to tighten screw top lid that is perfect for slippery moisturised hands. However this tub is pink and oh-so-girly, whilst remaining classy. Somehow it manages to tick the boxes for a 13 year old and a 30 year old.

After lifting the lid in store, I promptly purchased four tubs. It is divine. Sweet and girly but still fresh and light, this is a scent that I won't get sick of. I haven't smelt anything like it before - but I can see most people loving it. The formula is thick and creamy - you can tip it upside down and it won't fall out. Yet it melts into the skin beautifully and allows for a quick application of such a thick, nourishing body butter. As soon as this product has been applied my skin feels smooth and silky, with absolutely no stickiness or tackiness. In comparison to The Body Shop body butters (as I know many are familiar with these) the formula is equally as thick, yet more 'whipped.' It absorbs faster and packs about the same punch for hydration. I often save body butters for the evening, however this absorbs so easily that is it just as suitable for a morning application.

The Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter is currently available for $15 in Postie Plus, and often goes on sale for less. With a 450ml tub and only a small amount of product needed for each application, I consider this great value for money. I will absolutely continue to repurchase this product as well as purchasing it as a gift.

Tips: I purchased mine from Postie Plus. Unless you can spot it there, it will be difficult to access.

Buyers Regret

When I first saw this in postie, I told myself I did not need more body butters and this was the biggest mistake I made, because when i decided-yes I did in fact need this product it was sold out in store, and online as well. Disappointing for me since I still haven't been able to find a permanent stockist in NZ, so I have been buying in when I visit Australia.

The first time I brought it overseas, I brought a small mini tub which is around 50g. Pretty tiny and it doesn't last a long time if you moisturize a lot like i did.

The small version of this product comes in a small tub, which has a screw off lid. It is a candy pink colour and has cute packaging which I love.

The body butter is lovely. I have the formula for dry skin and I am not sure if there are different versions of this. This butter is reasonably thick, but not as thick as The body shop version. However I prefer this formula because the butter is smooth, thick and creamy. It feels like a luxurious cream and a small amount goes a long way because once you rub it into your skin, the formula thins out so it moisturizes a large area.

I love the smell of this. I can't actually put my finger on what it smells like but its fresh, clean and kind of reminds me of that smell when you walk into a Lush shop.

This body butter is so good, I am so annoyed that I didn't stock up when they were available in postie! This butter leaves my skin hydrated, and smelling amazing! If you see it at your local postie, Buy them all!!

Soap & Glory The Righteous butter review

This is an amazing product! Has amazing ingredients such as rosehip oil and coconut oil. It is so moisturizing on my skin and I have noticed that some stretch marks have faded! On my second tub and loving it. 10/10

Tips: It is reccomended to use just after showering while your skin is still wet, the butter mixes in with the water making it so you don't use as much product if you were to use it on dry skin. It really helps!

Why must I love thou!?

Thanks to recent purchase from Mecca Australia I picked up a few travel sizes Soap and Glory offer, and this was one of them! It was quite a generous sized tub, and it lasted me about 2 weeks which I was stoked with.

I opened the pot and took a deep sniff, and the smell surprised me. It was fruity and delightful! It was also very thick, not unlike the Body Shop butters that I have a love hate relationship with. I used it immediately after my shower and I was pleasantly surprised.

The lotion went a long way for my standard, which was good. The smell went slightly manly on my skin, but I was fine with that. Best of all, I could put my jeans on straight away without having a tantrum as the lotion absorbed really well. The lotion didn't leave a greasy film like TBS ones do, and well, I was just stoked all round. This lotion is great and I'm sad I didn't pick it up when it was available at Postie!

Blend of high end perfumes

I'm fussy when it comes to body butters but I know I love one when I've nearly panned it. This body butter is in my top 3 and it's a must-have (the others are Pure Fiji and MOR body butters).

I was gifted a 50ml tub which fits in the palm of my hand so it takes up little space and is easy to travel with. It's a lightweight plastic pink tub that's durable.

You get a whiff of the fragrance when you put the tub to your nose but the true delight is revealed when you work it into the skin. It smells AMAZING!!

The best way I can describe the scent is a blend of the high end perfumes you smell in the air when walking in the fragrance section at Duty Free haha! This scent lingers on my skin until I wash it off.

My skin feels soft and hydrated and doedn't leave any greasy residue behind. I cannot recommend it enough. My main issue is the one thing that may prevent people from buying it but something we're used to in New Zealand and that is accessibilty to the brand. Oh the cruelty of it all.

The only place I can think of is Mecca Cosmetica Australia but it'll be a special order via email.

Butter

I love S&G there's nothing about it I don't love the quirky packaging & naming of each product just keeps me wanting more. I got this as a set from Mecca although when Postie plus stocked it I had plenty of opportunities to purchase but I never did. So glad Mecca cosmetica has come to NZ. Firstly this comes in a pink tub and as son as you open the lid your senses are awakened by a scent none like any other but notably S&G. It's a fragrance of citrus & clean. I lather this on its quite thick in texture & absorbs into my skin leaving me feeling moist. The scent can be overpower but thank fully I agree with the scent. The butter leaves my skin feeling smooth hydrated & scented. I'll continue to purchase this butter for thsee purposes.
