I really like this oil

I have this oil in a 3ml sample size from when I purchased their trial kit which comes with some minis of their other products also. I have been using oil on my face for the last 18 months and have noticed such an improvement on my dry skin.

The bottle of this is a pretty typical rosehip oil vessel. It is a dark glass and it has a dropper cap. I think the labeling of this brand looks nice and effective and of course the pink colourings draws me in. Another great thing is that this is sold at the supermarket. I find it very easy to justify beauty purchases if I can just buy them with my food products!

I like to use 6 drops of oil for my face and neck. I apply once a day in the mornings after my toner. I always start with my cheeks and nose and then smooth it over my face. This does have a strong smell that is not the nicest but it's not gross either. I don't notice the scent once applied. Within 10 minutes of applying, it has absorbed into my skin and my skin feels soft and ready for lotion without feeling greasy at all.

I can't comment on any claims this oil makes as I haven't been using it long enough. I did find when I started to use oils, that it took a few months before I really noticed any difference in my skin. So keep that in mind if you're only after a quick fix.

3mls doesn't seem like much at all but I've been using this for a couple of weeks and I still have just under half left. I can definitely see myself buying the full size of this at some stage. I'm still trying out other oils to see what works best but this doesn't break me to and it helps my dry skin feel not so dry so it's winning There! I'd definitely recommend to others to give it a go, the trial pack is around $20 and had 5 products I think in it, so it's a great way to see if you like them without investing a huge amount into it.

Rosehip Saviour!

This is the best product I have every come across, I am so glad that my sister mentioned it to me and that I was able to put money aside to get it, being a student and all! The other day my sister actually asked if I was wearing any makeup but I wasn't it was all just because of the rosehip oil I had been applying constantly!

With this oil, I apply it about twice a day. If I intend to go out during the day I will only apply it at night otherwise my face would look like an oily mess. I apply about 3-4 drops into my hand and then spread it evenly over my face and rub it in. I will then let it soak into my skin. The smell was interesting at first, very natural haha but I have gotten used to it now and I don't mind it as much. I would definitely recommend this rosehip oil to people with lots of acne scarring because it has been doing a really good job at minimising it and it has also been keeping away acne which is very surprising! I love this product and I also love that it is not too expensive and a little goes a very long way.

Tips: Apply twice a day for fast results, and remember a little goes a long way.

Not for my problem skin!

I decided to buy a Essano Rosehip Oil face care pack as I had brought their face wash while waiting for my usual to be delivered when I had run out. I didn't like the smell of the oil, but it didn't like my skin even more! Felt like it was burning, and normally my skin is incredibly tolerant. And despite only using a little I felt and looked like I had dipped my face in a bucket of oil

Tips: Maybe test a little on the inside of your elbow or somewhere discreet if your skin is sensitive before putting it on your face.

Must Have Product

This Rosehip Oil has been the best thing for my skin. I use this morning and night before my moisturiser. I use it all over my face including around the eye area. Its cleared up dry skin patches, help reduce pores, has reduced redness and makes my skin feel so soft. It also seems to be helping my makeup sit better and last longer throughout the day. I have Oily skin with the odd dry patches. it seemed strange to put oil on an oily complexion, but it actually seems to help control it. The only reason i haven't given it 5 out of 5 is for the slight smell of the oil. i haven't tried the Triology or any other Rosehip oil yet, so not sure if this is the same with all of them. But its not strong enough or bad enough to stop me using this amazing product. Great price so its an affordable staple. Definitely try it!

Tips: A little goes a long way so just add a little at a time.

Essano Rosehip Oil

This is a really nice gentle face oil. I think that it did help with some redness on my skin. I didn't really find it all that moisturising though. I had to use a fair amount to feel that my skin had been moisturised. It is kind of an average product for me. Also I think it does help a bit with scars though if you keep up with putting it on them at least every night.

A Beautiful Oil

I saw this at the supermarket after seeing a little bit about it in a magazine, so thought I would pick up a bottle of the oil to use at night in combination with my normal eye cream. This product is wonderful! Easy to apply and massage into the face. It absorbs very quickly too which is good if you don't want an oily pillow. I have noticed that it is very good for healing any spots or marks on my face and generally reduces the redness. For the price of the bottle and how far it goes on each application, I believe it is fantastic value. It is so good to see an organic NZ product on the market that does as it says!

Tips: Avoid popping this on the oily parts of your face, but apply liberally on any marks or redness.

Super Moisturizing

I recently started using this product again after giving myself a break from it for about 3 months and I forgot how much I loved it. I use this every night before my moisturizer, it takes about 3 drops to do my whole face. By the time the morning comes around it has completely absorbed and leaves my skin feeling great. The packaging is really good on this, it has the little eye dropper so I can easily control how much I'm using and the bottle is glass which I like, plastic to me is a bit cheap feeling. The price point for this is great and its super easy to find (local supermarket). I haven't gone through a whole bottle yet so I can't tell you how long it lasts but I would say possibly the better part of 6+ mths. I know for some people using oil on your face sounds a bit scary but it is worth giving a go as it also helps with acne scarring and fine lines. I never find that my skin if left oily but I do have Normal/Dry skin so I'm not sure how this would go on someone with Oily skin. The one thing I don't like about this is the smell, to me it just smells like cooking oil and it does tend to linger for a while but its natural so I suppose the smell isn't going to be really nice and floral, but I do wish it had a faint smell of something nice. Overall great product :)

Not so great

Well I couldn’t make it past the smell of this product. I don’t know what it is that is in it that make it smell but it reminds me of a burned match stick. In fact so much so I mixed in some essential oils to ameliorate the smell.

Now anyone that knows me knows I’m not a fan of strong scents but really this was a surprise. I opened it a couple of months ago and the first time I used it I thought it was odd. Then I went to use it more recently and it reminded me of the same thing so I don’t think it’s an issue with the freshness of the product. I just don’t like the smell, so it’s a subjective thing.

I use it on my hands and arms at night now and it does do the job but I don’t find it as moisturising as say the Plantae Rosehip Fruit and Seed Serum that I use on my face at night as a skin treatment. I was hoping to use the Essano for that purpose when I brought it but to me it doesn’t cut the grain. Other people love it though - and that’s a good thing!

Tips: If you don't like the scent a few drops of other essential oils in the mix works well. I used Lavender, Ylang Ylang and Rose Geranium and that's a nice combination.

I was reading up on it yesterday funny enough. Apparently to some people Rosehip Oil smells of fish. There's a lot of people that don't like it. One added bonus of adding the essential oils is it would make a good bath oil now I think too :)

That's such a great idea, adding your own scent to it! I also find the smell repulsive lol. I'm yet to find a Rosehip oil that doesn't have that signature scent though so I think I need to look into adding my own essential oil.

Ultra Nourishing

I love rosehip oil as I find it really helps add a bit of extra moisture to my skin - especially during winter! I usually would apply this after cleansing my face and then apply moisturiser on top, and if using for stretch marks, scars or sun damaged skin I would exfoliate in the shower and apply this afterwards. It absorbs really quickly and doesn't actually feel super oily on your skin so I feel like it would suit all/most skin types. Would definitely recommend!
