Trilogy Very Gentle Hydra-Mask Review

I've never used a moisturising face mask before, only a clay/mud mask. Well this moisturiser was definitely hydrating. After using this my skin felt really soft and supple. I have combination oily skin so someone with dry or dehydrated skin might not get the same results.

The consistency of the mask is very thick as expected. It feels quite sticky too, however the texture is very smooth which makes it easy to apply to your face. I remove the mask with a tissue which still leaves my skin dewy and tacky. You can cleanse it off if you want your face to be clean however I apply my mask at night so I just leave the rest of the product to absorb into my skin over night.

This makes is very gentle on your skin and I had no reactions while using this product. I was glad that I didn't as masks tend to be products that can irritate your skin given how long you need to leave on your face for. My face wasn't red and I think it has reduced the redness on my cheeks.

I really like how this product comes with a mini spatula which makes it easy to apply to your face without having to dip your fingers in and contaminate the jar. I also hate getting product stuck under my nails!

Overall this mask definitely lives up to its claims. It is very gentle and works well on sensitive skin so I would definitely recommend this product to others.

The Hydra mask comes in a decent 60ml sized glass tub and has its own little scoop which is quite handy for getting the product out without having to use your fingers or contaminating the whole tub. the mask has a slightly thick consistency and is light yellow in color it glides on very easy. It does not feel heavy and has a very mild but pleasant smell of all the oils.I leave it for about 15 mins and wipe of the excess. It is a leave in mask & my skin feels really soft after every application. As it is a hydrating mask it did leave my skin feeling nicely hydrated and I didn't feel the need to moisturise after either. I did notice that it didn't leave my face feeling dry or red after washing it off. it actually helped with my redness around my cheeks and nose and I could notice that it actually did leave it feeling quite calm. This product certainly does what it says. It leaves the skin soothed and calmed. Would definitely recommend.

I got this to trial at the right time - when I had the flu, in the middle of winter, and my skin was chapped, dry, and just generally terrible. This has definitely helped my skin heal more rapidly than I think it otherwise would have (based on past experience). I've used it a several times a week, after cleansing, while having an evening bath. I have really slathered it on, especially around my poor chapped nose and lips, and between my eyebrows. There's no scent, and it does seem to have a calming effect on my skin. However, I'm not thrilled about it being in a pottle, so that every time I open it there is oxidation. Also, there are other deeply hydrating masks for a lot less money that I think do just as good a job (if not even better) that come in tubes and contain more product. Having said that, it did what it said it would do and helped my skin, and for those that need help with dry skin and want to support a good (NZ) brand, then this is worth trying.

This is the heavy hitter of the Trilogy Sensitive range, and promises deep hydration, and if you have stressed out dry skin this is the product for you. This comes in a glass jar, following the simplistic theme of the Trilogy packaging. On first opening I was a bit taken aback, as the mask looks a lot like a thick creamy mayonnaise, don't be fooled though, this mask packs a serious punch of moisture. At 60ml it is a generous size for a mask, and the jar makes for easy application. For my combination skin, maybe a little too much moisture, I found that my skin could only take so much of this product in, it felt relaxing having the mask on, I got no irritation and my skin really did feel calmed and moisturised, however I found it to be too rich on my t-zone, my suggestion would be to use this on the driest areas of your face if you have combo skin, to avoid over moisturising. There is no detectable scent, and my skin felt smooth to the touch after using this, you do need to rinse off the excess after using this, I also notice I didn't need to moisturise like I usually do with other masks after their application. A fantastic once-a-week-treatment for me, however I will use sparingly.

Lovely packaging. Comes with application spatula. Ensure you skin is clean and dry before applying. This product is a real treat if you really need a boost. I myself left it on maximum time of 15 mins. This is when I got confused. the instructions say to then remove excess. So I got a soft tissue and removed all I could. Then I followed by moisturizing, well this was not a good look. My skin did not want to absorb any of the moisturizer. So I assumed I should have washed my face lightly first? Tried this method the next time and yes my skin then absorbed my moisturizer but was left feeling quite greasy. Do not believe this is the right Mask for me, but would be wonderful for someone who really needs that boost.
