Gentle, fast absorbing, hydrating

I like to use this oil post-shaving to soothe my skin, and as moisturiser for my decolletage and legs. The oil comes packaged in a beautiful pink and brown pump bottle. I love the packaging as most oils come in a glass dropper that gets messy real quickly, whereas the pump is practical and you can more easily control the amount of product you use. The oil is yellow in colour, and relatively thick, so it's easy to control application and it doesn't get everywhere. The wild rose scent is strong, and pleasant, it manages to smell amazing without smelling granny like, unlike a lot of other floral scents tend to do.The oil absorbs relatively quickly. I find it really good to use after shaving, I have quite sensitive skin and this soothes any itchiness or razor bumps from shaving quite well. It's also super hydrating as a moisturiser and leaves my skin feeling very silky, and looking glossy. I haven't noticed the rosehip oil in this doing anything to improve any scarring or stretch marks I have on my legs. Aside from that, I really love this oil and I am currently on my second bottle of it.

A little messy

I used this when I was pregnant with my daughter. It was a little messy and would run through my fingers when squirted it out of the bottle. I used it on my belly. It smells beautiful but left a yellow residue and didn't absorb well.

Not too oily!

This product comes in a 100ml spray bottle, it's super easy to use and smells really good. It says to spray on hands then warm up then apply to skin, I found it more convenient just spraying directly onto my skin. In saying that I have dry skin so I probably do more sprays than normal.

I love using this after a shower before bed to keep my skin hydrated all night - I use it mainly on my arms. However I don't do this every night as I tend to need to use too much product and use it up too quickly. The product feels nice on my skin and my skin feels smooth and soft and hydrated. I don't use this during the day for work as it's an oily product (leaves oily marks on surfaces).

I love that it also doesn't feel too oily where I've applied the product - however my hands feel really oily after massaging or rubbing the product in. I am surprised of the price - $28 for 100ml of body oil - as I said, this will run out too quickly in my opinion and would prefer a bigger bottle if I were to pay that price. I got this in a beauty box so I didn't purchase this.

Esssano Rosehip Body Oil

I received this as a gift for Christmas and absolutely love it. The oil comes in a 100ml bottle which will last me for a long time because a little goes a long way, with the spray top. A lovely floral scent and I use it mostly for face, neck and arms but can be used all over the body. I will definitely purchase this when my bottle runs out, and recommend to anyone who has dry skin issues.

Tips: Squirt some into your palms and apply to skin, rather than directly onto skin.

Rosehip oil

I received this in the NZ Brands 2 Beauty Box, which has since sold out. I am a big fan of Essano's products, and I have been using some of them for a number of years. However, I had not tried their body oil before receiving it in the beauty box.

The body oil comes in Essano's normal pink and black packaging. The box for the oil is pink, and the bottle itself is plastic with a pump nozzle that has a lid. The bottle is 100ml. The oil is advertised as rosehip that is enriched with pomegranate oil. Like Eassano's other products it is eco-certified, organic, and cruelty free.

I have been using this body oil every night on my legs for the past few weeks. I am very pale, and I have had some insect bites which have turned bright red, as well as a skin reaction to a self-tanning product. I have been using the oil to help moisturise my skin, and to minimise the redness of the blemishes. This oil seems to be helping. I apply it every night on dry skin. It does say to apply it onto damp skin, but it seems to absorb just fine on dry skin. My redness has faded over the past couple of weeks since I began using it.

Th only thing I had trouble with was the pump spray. I thought the easiest way would be to spray the oil directly onto my legs; however, the pump spray seems to shoot the oil into random directions, and it would often miss my leg and land on the floor. So I decided to spray it directly onto my hands instead (at close range) and then rub it onto my legs. This is actually the method that is recommended on the packaging: "apply a few sprays onto palms and rub together to warm." So I should have read that first! The oil is light, easily and quickly absorbed, and it does not feel greasy. A couple of pumps covers one leg each. The pump stops you from using too much product each time, so it is economical to use. I still have quite a bit of the bottle to go.

I think this product is a good deal if you are after a body oil. You cannot really go wrong with Essano.

Tips: Follow the instructions and spray it onto your hands first!

Quite oily

I found this body oil quite difficult to rub in. It leaves quite an oily film on my skin that rubs off onto my clothes if I put them on too soon after applying. It is very moisturising, however, I'm not sure it is worth the hassle over other body moisturisers that also leave my skin feeling soft and don't take so long to rub in.

My applicator seemed to be faulty as the spray nozzle just sprayed out a straight spurt rather than a normal spray action. This meant that I had to hold the bottle really far away from myself or the force of it made oil go all over the bathroom!

Easy moisturising

I love body oil because it is so easy to apply, but this product is next level. The spray applicator means I don't accidentally apply too much and it made the body oil go a long way.

In terms of packaging, the 100ml size wasn't very big for a body product, so it would be good to have available in a larger size.

I'm in two minds about the scent. Essano uses parfum in their products, which I don't like, and I found this scent a little bit heavy and cloying, but then again it was only on my legs and didn't last for too long. But the use of parfum is the reason I haven't given this 5 stars.

Tips: This is easily picked up at the supermarket, for a supermarket price.

Rub, rub, rub

Essano have created a body oil that is thin in consistency, which makes it easy to apply and you do not need a whole lot, a little goes a long way with body oils and this is the case with this product as well.

The packaging is nice, in a bottle, with a pink wrap around sticker, that tells me that Essano promises NO parabens, sulphates, silicones or animal testing, as well as being made in New Zealand it also an Ecocertified cosmetic, made up of 98.40% natural ingredients. These are all major positives for when I look to buy products that are for my skin, because it is our largest organ.

The scent is very nice, sweet, yet fresh and some floral notes. It is very pleasant and stays on your skin after rubbing it in.

It suggests you apply twice daily, onto damp skin. It is easily rubbed into damp skin, but sometimes I wish it was just as easy to rub it into dry skin. As we all have been in a position where we need a bit of moisturizing to our arms or legs before we go out, and I find that it sits on top of my skin and is a bit greasy if my body is not damp.

The price point is pretty good, but I would wait until my Countdown store has a special on Essano to stock up as it does every now and again.

Pomegranite and Rosehip Body love

This product comes in the same distinctive packaging as the other Essano products in the range. I was happy to receive it in the BBBE NZ Brands 2 box.

It comes in a brown plastic bottle with a plastic pump top that works well and is simple and easy to use, with no mess. The product is a relatively thin oil, that spreads easily and absorbs quickly. It leaves a lovely soft feel to the skin, probably because it contains Rosehip Oil, antioxidants and jojoba. It really does feel quite lovely. It is is non greasy, and due to absorbing so quickly, doesn’t leave any residue other than a light waxy feel on my skin. It has the same divine scent of most of the other Essano products.

The recommendation is to use it twice daily, applied by spraying on to the hands and massing to warm it, then rubbing anywhere on the body. I’ve been using it mainly on my hands and feet. It says it will hydrate and nourish skin, improve skins elasticity and firmness, and aid in natural repair and renewal of skin. That’s a steep expectation and I can’t say it does all those things. It certainly does soften and hydrate my skin, without question though. I love that this product, and the Essano range, do not contain nasties or test on animals – big tick for those things.

I’m not entirely sure I would use it again, because I always like to try new products, but it is very good, so maybe. At $28 it’s a good price for a good body oil.
