essano Clear Complexion Regime Review

There's 5 products in this line: one cleanser, followed by a four step skincare process. My review will go in order of application. Buckle in, this is gonna be a long one.

Cleanser: Thick, clear gel with quite a window cleaner smell that’s a little stronger than I like. It doesn't foam up much, but definitely leaves my face feeling squeaky clean The tube allows easy control of product dispension, and a tiny pea sized drop is enough for my whole face.

Blemish control gel: Soothing gel leaning towards liquid consistency. Only need a tiny bit for each problem area and I just squeeze some out onto my finger then dab it. The little opening in the tube allows really careful control of how much you get out. I feel like my pimples 'dry up' and heal faster when I use this, and it seems to have antiseptic properties to prevent extra pus.

Toner: This smells BAD. It's a terrible mix of hospital disinfectant, chemical cleaners, and just bad memories all round. At first I found this unbearable, and was almost tempted to stop using this. But now I've gotten a bit more used to it. Another complaint about this one is the spray is too strong, instead of a fine mist, I end up squirting myself on the face in just one patch. The toner itself is actually not bad. It makes the application of the following steps smoother and seems to help the absorption. I store it in the fridge so it's nice and refreshing when I use it.

Serum: This comes out of a metal pump bottle, and even though it recommended two pumps or more, I find that just one is enough for my face and neck. Putting it on my face feels very soothing, it just glides on and spreads so easily. It's quite a thin gel type texture, and absorbs insanely fast leaving my face feeling completely dry (but in a good way). It smells very natural, like sesame seeds but also kind of medicinal. I think this is a good pre-step to the moisturiser, as it adds in that extra bit of moisture.

Moisturiser: this is a very thick gel, almost like a cream. Again this is in a tube and I only need about 3/4 of a pea sized dollop. At night time or when my skin feels quite dry I might put a little more on five minutes after the first application. This seems to lock in all the products before it, and I can easily apply makeup or sunscreen overtop without my face looking too shiny.

I'll have to use it for another good month or two before seeing any long term improvements, but in the short term this has wowed me. Favourite product is definitely the blemish gel, since it's the most potent. The serum is also quite nice, I feel like when it's really hot I could even skip the moisturiser and use the serum alone. The spray of the toner needs a little tweaking, and the smell of the cleanser and the toner is a little annoying, but otherwise I'm pretty happy. The prices are really good, and I’ll definitely repurchase the blemish gel, the serum and maybe the others if I see good results in the long run.

First of all I have to say I love the packaging of this complete regime! The boxes and bottles are nice with pink and white, good information, and essano written in gold. It all matches together and clearly communicates that it is shine free, cruelty free and awesomely made in New Zealand!

When I finished using all five products for the first time I noticed straight away how soft my skin was. It felt super hydrated and plump without feeling greasy or oily. I was very impressed but figured it could just be because these new products changed up my routine so I would continue to use them and see if the effects were long lasting. The answer is HECK YES! I am still blown away at how great my skin feels and looks after a few weeks of habitually using this skin care regime.

The Purifying Gel Cleanser is super smooth and easy to rub in, it removes most makeup and leaves my skin hydrated as opposed to stripping it as some other cleansers can do.

The Certified Organic Mist Toner is nice and refreshing, this is the first time I have used a Mist Toner and I'm really enjoying it! It doesn't make my skin sting at all which is great!

The Oil Control Moisturiser is one of my favourites from this collection because it goes on kind of thick but blends in so nicely for hydrated skin. Plus it smells kind of like bananas so I love it.

The Certified Organic Detoxifying Serum certainly packs a hydrated punch and also applies really well. 2 pumps can do my whole face and neck which is nice. I really struggle with the smell of this product however - it is my least favourite smelling of the lot.

The Rapid Action Blemish Gel is probably the product that I have seen the least results using. It is not some miracle worker but in terms of a blemish gel it has shortened the cycle of my breakouts and has minimised their size.

The biggest plus for me from using this regime is how much my skin tone has improved. The redness in my face has decreased so much to the point where I have gone foundation free a few days!

This skincare regime has the "natural" tag written all over it, but with this being such an overused claim I think it is important to clarify that Essano actually use natural, recognisable ingredients such as witch hazel, rosemary and aloe vera. Not only do they use them, they are prominent in their products, not just an afterthought at the bottom of an ingredients list. A lot of their ingredients are organic (yay), the range is affordable (yay!) and it works to control oil and prevent breakouts (triple yay!) An affordable, readily available range that actually works. This skincare regime would be a great option for teenagers new to skincare or anyone with oily or blemish prone skin. My skin is less oily when using this range, yet it is still nourished and hydrated. The packaging is pretty yet practical and the routine is easy to understand and use. The stand-out products for me were the toner and moisturiser. If I could only purchase four of the five products, I would leave the serum at the store. Overall, a great regime.

I was very impressed to receive such a range of products! I loved how it is all organic. The packing is super cute and simple. The smells of everything are very faint and don't really have a specific scent. I didn't like it at first but as I used it every day I just got used to it.

I think the system works really well together as a whole. My skin is clear, soft, and not oily (yay!). I hadn't used a proper skincare regimen before this, but now that I have started, I really want to continue! I love the whole range because I have really sensitive skin and finding the right skincare products can be an absolute nightmare.

I think I'll be sticking with these products!

I think the only thing missing from this U25's range is an exfoliator! It would help to even out skin tone and really make my skin feel fresh

As a Parent of a Teen who gets so upset at her skin doing it's own thing, this regime has to be the best on the market!

It's gentle yet so effective. Natural which is a big tick in our family.

Aleyah's (15) skin has done a complete 180 , it really has. There's no angry looking throbbing spots, barely any blackheads. Her skin tone has evened right out .

This is going to be a staple in our household, especially for my 13 (going on 20)

I have never properly adhered to a skin-care regime before, so I was nothing but enthusiastic to trial this one! The products have straight forward instructions, are easy to use, and have definitely contributed to me having clearer, brighter skin!

The first product you use in the regime is the cleanser, which is gentle but thorough so can be used morning and night, and will even remove eye-makeup! This cleanser is my new favourite, and after being able to trial it, I am definitely going to buy it again!

I then use the serum, which is very light, and makes your skin look bright. This serum along with the cleanser were my favourites of the regime as they were the two products that I felt did exactly what they said they would, and really felt like they were immediately making a difference to my skin.

I then followed the serum with the toner, which is slightly difficult to spray lightly and evenly across your face due to the high pressure of the pump bottle. However, by the end of this trial, I think I've nearly got the knack of using it! On top of the serum, the toner makes my skin appear slightly shiny, but this wears off after a few hours and leaves your skin looking bright and refreshed.

Next to use is the blemish gel, which is applied directly to any blemishes and problem areas, and works with the toner and serum to rapidly reduce the size and redness of any unfortunate breakouts. I definitely think that the combination of these three products has helped me manage and heal my breakouts much faster, and was very impressed with how immediate their effects were.

All of this is then finally followed up by the moisturiser which is luckily non-greasy and readily absorbed. Applied lightly over the skin, the moisturiser absorbs quickly which negates the need for rubbing it into the skin which could remove the other products. It is perfectly formulated for use with the other products in this regime which I was incredibly impressed with.

Overall, this regime was effective, and easy to use, although I probably wouldn't buy all of the products again, I was incredibly grateful to be able to trial them as I feel they made a real difference to my skin.

This range is amazing! Aside from a few odd smelling products (I.e the toner and serum) these all work well and do as the product is described. Packaging is cute, girly and pink. All containers are closed with either a screw cap or firm click, which is good for the traveller. I have been using the face wash, cleanser, serum and toner non stop since receiving this package and have seen an oil decrease in my T-zone. It’s still there, but takes a lot longer to appear throughout the day. I noticed I do not wake up with an oily face. Each product is not thick with oily residue, but evaporates fast and leaves the skin feeling dry yet somehow moisturised. I have sensitive skin and noticed no appearance of eczema or rash and did not experience any burning sensation on application. The pimple cream SEEMS to work as it says, but I have not been using it on any active pimples. It does not appear to irritate old pimples, and reduces redness. Overall, I love these products and have found a new face care routine!! HALLELUJAH.

Essano is such a breakthrough in supermarket skin care it has organic ingredients, is naturally derived, free of chemicals including disgusting mineral oils, parabens, silicone, free of everything bad and no gmo's! this stuff is amazing, it is also clinically proven, cruelty free recyclable and made in New Zealand.

The packaging is lovely although it's a beautiful feminine shade of pink silver and lilac definitely won't appeal to both sexes.

It is more then what it says.... It has so many extra elements, and every product contains natural herbs or nutrients instead of synthetic, that are easily absorbed and make skin feel alive and rejuvenated. It detoxifies the skin with bioDtox which detoxifies skin naturally cleans pores and controls oil.

This trial was for my teenage sun who has pimples and oily skin at the moment. Although his skin is beautiful with olive tones he does like to take care of his skin. He did not like the packaging, but I did and i have an oily T zone so it's perfect for me

The cleanser smells like goody gumdrops it left my skin feeling refreshed and clean. My son said it felt nice and clean The toner took awhile to absorb but felt nice and moisturizing, it contains witch hazel which is great for toners. It contains loads of other herbs and nutrients and felt amazing especially to refresh skin in summer. It smells divine like sweet nectar and honey.

The blemish gel actually almost cleared his pimples in three days, his skin looked so nice. It seemed to work quite well.

The serum smells like playdo for some weird reason. I preferred to use it at night as it seemed to leave a layer on my skin, it worked well though and made my skin feel tight and less oily and like it was improving it's tone. My son Saud it made his skin a bit shiny

The moisturiser is beautiful it smells like caramelised honey and it's a fantastic makeup base especially for oily T zone. It absorbed in seconds, my skin felt moisturised and glowing. It's better then a primer and it's all natural!!

First off, I love the packaging and the set it comes with, it includes everything you need for a full skin care regime. Face Cleanser, mist toner, Serum, moisturizer and Blemish Gel. The Smell isn't great, it's not bad but it's not good but I found it wasn't enough to put me off at all it's just a very subtle earthy aroma which isn't all that noticeable. I think having everything in a set like that makes it easier to remember each step for some reason. The cleanser was probably my least favorite product, I didn't find it particularly different from any cleansers I've used before although it definitely makes my skin feel fresh, that was about it. I didn't think I would like the serum but I found it to be very softening and made my skin feel very smooth afterwards a liittle also goes a long way it was not unlike the moisturizer which was very similar but had a different consistency. The mist toner was very refreshing but I don't feel like it's a very effective toner itself but it is really nice to cool down the face. I must say though the blemish gel was pretty rubbish for me, it made my pimples feel and look worse and I'm pretty sure it broke me out further in the areas it was applied to. All in all it's a nice set, but I don't know how effective it is as I haven't noticed my skin tone looking better and I wonder about the balance it's supposed to create as some patches of my skin were a little over dried but the oily parts were more normal, which is nice, but still not balanced. I think I will keep using this as it's simple and I really want to see if in a few months it evens out but would I buy this full set with my own money and re-purchase? Most likely not, and if I did I would probably feel more inclined to purchase the serum on it's own.
