Lush Lip Scrub Review

So, after making my way into Lush for the first time ever last week, I picked up some things I desperately wanted to try and this was one of them! Actually, I wanted to try the bubblegum (and I did!) but I ended up leaving the store with the Popcorn one instead.

Firstly, the tub looks really small for $12.50, but as you'll see you really need the smallest amount possible. I don't think I'll use that up in a year of daily use.

The contents are as you'd imagine it to be, a deliciously smelling, sugar scrub. The top is a bit hard, but once you're through (in a couple of days) you'll get to the messier, looser product (where you'll wish you were still at the very top).

After rubbing it on your finger, scrub it on your lips, how hard you scrub totally depends on you, but my lips are always chapped because I have the nasty habit of chewing on them at night in my sleep, so I scrub harder to get rid of it all. If your lips are a bit more sensitive, don't scrub too hard or it may hurt!

Then, they say to lick it off. Now, the bubblegum test I did in the shop was yummy, but the popcorn one tastes more like oils, and it's a sweet and sour flavour that I don't like too much. I think the smell is way better than the taste! So, I simply wipe it off... I don't know how good it can be to eat oil everyday, especially when there was much debate on whether or not to add a couple of drops of essential oils to your water in the mornings - which the answer was NOT, please don't say I said you should do that!

Overall though, the concept is really cool, and I will definitely repurchase instead of attempting my own DIY or searching for another one.

This is one of those products I would never of dreamed of buying but received it in a gift pack and got a big surprise.

I received the Xmas/Santa cola version. At first was very surprised at how dry the product was I expected it to be like a facial scrub. However my lips felt amazing afterwards!!

The feeling is short lived but that is not the products fault and would be enhanced if you put lip balm on afterwards.

The glitter hearts in the product and the colouring I felt are unnecessary.

The flavour is amazing, however it doesn't smell as great as it tastes.

But overall I am sold

The only problem with this scrub is that I struggle not to lick it up after i have applied it!! I own the bubblegum flavour and it is amazing. I love it so much my lips feel so good afterwards. It gets rid of all the extra skin and leaves them feeling soft and supple.

Wow, blown away! The Lip Scrub smells amazing. It comes in a small glass 25g tub but will last and last. It is easy to open and apply.

The first layer is hard but after a few days making a dent, the sugary goodness is easier to access.

You only need an index finger worth for your lips. Simply apply the sugar scrub to your lips, rubbing the scrub in (you choose how much pressure to apply). Then either lick off your lips or wipe away.

The Lip scrub is a sugar/salt/butter taste.

Your lips feel very soft and smooth after.

Where do I start! this is the most gorgeous lip scrub I've tried so far! I own the bubblegum scent and have almost run out. It smells awesome, and is so easy and fast to use, it's really helpful in the summer to get rid of dead skin and is a great exfoliant!

Lush is really great because it doesn't contain any harmful chemicals, which is a huge reason I like to purchase their products. This one has really helped my lips, and leaves them feeling soft and smooth.

I recommend it to any one who has been struggling with chapped lips this spring&summer;! xo

I was first introduced to this product when it was given to me 2 years ago as a gift from a friend, and I haven't stopped using it since! It comes in a tiny container, about the size of a normal lip balm, but will last for ages! Once opened, the strong, sweet smell of sugary goodness hits you straight away, although the scent does not have a lasting effect on your lips. It is a gentle scrub on your lips, getting rid of all the dried up, dead chappy skin after a few scrubs. After a slightly vigorous scrub, my lips have felt smooth and moisturized, while tasting sweet, as the scrub is mainly sugar.

Yum yummy yum! This lip scrub smells like cola and it taste pretty good as well! (Though I done recommend eating it). Its stuffed full of sugar and the sugar grains are a great scrub to get all of the dead skin off, It does leave a little bit in a red tint to your lips so if you dont want that I suggest getting one without a bright colour.

I got this given to me by my friend, I have it in the bubblegum flavour. It does taste really good and the product itself is quite effective but I just didn't like it. It wasn't the product for me. Its not something I would like to lick off my lips along with the skin and I know you can wipe it off too but the sugar just gets all over my mouth area and chin and its gets too sticky.. It would be better if you did it in your shower routine but when you're in a rush and NEED softer lips its not ideal unless you like having sugar all over your face :P

I received Lush Lip Scrub in Mint Julip as part of a gift set as a Christmas Present. I was super excited to trial this product as I love the concept.

The lip scrub comes in a glass pottle with a screw tip lid and the iconic Lush logo. I am not a huge fan of the packaging as I dislike putting my finger into product and would prefer to be able to squeeze it out.

Mint Julip smells incredible! It has a strong peppermint smell at first and then is rounded out with yummy chocolate notes. I couldn't wait to get started and knew I would be licking this scrub off rather than wiping it off!

The scrub is quite dry through the top layers which I expected after reading a few reviews. I used a spoon to mix it all up which really helped to distribute the oils through consistently. Another tip I picked up was to use the scrub using the tooth brush which I also followed.

The scrub is lovely and gritty without being too harsh, it made my lips tingle and as expected, I had a wee taste and was pleasantly surprised. I would have liked more moisturing oils and butters as afterwards my lips felt quite dry, This product will last and last as you only need a little bit. I use it once a week as I find my lips can't take much more exfoliating and end up too dry.

I adore this lip scrub! I have had 3 little containers of this and i love it! I always get the bubblegum flavour because it's just so delicious, but the mint one smells lovely, and i saw a popcorn flavour last time, might have to try that. I use this at night; i was my makeup off with Lush Ultrabland, remove with i hot face cloth, then take a tiny amount of this scrub (like, half a pea size) and scrub it into my lips for about 20 seconds. Remove it with the hot cloth, and then put Lucas Paw Paw on. Leaves lips feeling super soft and I find I don't need too much moisturization during the day (I wear a lot of matte lipsticks and this can be drying, but the scrub really helps remove old skin) and who wants patchy looking matte lips?!?
