There is always one...

I tried the vitamin C shot which comes in a yellow packet. Ok so the instructions are pretty clear - They are marked on the back of the packet. Basically this comes in a sealed packet with 2 sections. The top section has the paper mask and the bottom has the liquid. You fold the packet (its like doing beginners origami) and push the liquid onto the mask whilst it is still in the packet. This is where it went all wrong for me... Problem was my packet had a slight tear which made for a messy experience. The old she'll be right attitude did not work In this instance. I ended up with half the liquid all over my hands and clothers. HOWEVER I managed to salavge some and pour it directly onto the mask. The mask was easy to apply as it seemed to stretch and mould perfectly to my face. It felt really light while on - not like other masks where it feels really heavy and you have to adjusting. The scent was subtle but pleasant. I left this on for 20 minutes (the recommended time is 15 minutes) given I lost part of the mixture. This was easy to peel off. I had a look in the mirror and my skin did have a little shine going on and did look brighter and fresher. The only thing I didn't like was a sticky feeling around my chin area. This was quick and easy to use and shouldn't be a messy experience. It is recommended this be used 3 times a week - I would love to give this a go to see how it would go with regular use.

Tips: Check the seal on the packet before starting otherwise it will get messy

Fresh and bright skin after 15 minutes of relaxing

Having never tried a tissue mask before I was excited to try the Garnier Fresh Mix Tissue Mask with the Vitamin C shot and intrigued by the packaging. I had to read the instructions multiple times - the algae tissue mask is dry in a top compartment and you fold the packet a couple of times and squeeze the liquid into it before applying it to your face. Even with this fancy packaging it was still a wee bit messy (lots of liquid) but wasn't sticky and smelt amazing as all Garnier products do. I'm used to face masks where I can pace around the house and continue to do other things but enjoyed relaxing for 15 minutes with this one. I wiped off any remaining product which didn't absorb and my skin felt lovely and soft and looked fresh and bright.

Tips: Pick a time where you have at least 20 minutes free of distractions to relax with this on your face.

Garnier’s Fresh mix Vitamin C Tissue Mask

Another nice product from Garnier. I have been long wanting to try masks with infused Vitamin C for my freckly, and sun-spot prone face. So i was very excited to hear about this trial.

I love the idea how we got to mix the mask in the serum ourselves. Pretty trendy don’t you think? The instructions were very clear and easy to follow.

Once the normal looking mask sitting the packet was fully saturated with the serum, the thick consistency and touch reminded me of agar jelly. It didn’t feel as fragile as the thiner paper masks, so it didn’t rip or over-stretch too easily to my clumsy unfolding skills. My challenge was trying to unfold the drenched mask as quickly as i could, as the extra serum does drip from the mask.

Overall, the mask felt very comfortable and relaxing, not too cool on the face, but not too warm either, but I’ll have to try this mask over winter instead of summer, just to see whether or not it will feel like an ice pack on your face if applied during the cooler seasons.

I have a small face, so i was surprised the mask fitted me so well, without too much extra mask bits i have to fold over.

I didn’t notice until afterwards that there were still a lot of left over serum in the packet, so i decided to rub it all over my arms, elbow and legs, my neck, and onto my face again, which is what i usually do with other wet masks. But beware, the hydration of this mask must be truely intensive, as i woke up the next morning with my face, arms and legs still feeling sticky of the serum. So i don’t recommend using too much extra serum on your body, especially if your masking at night before bed.

It was hard to tell straight afterwards, whether or not this mask had any effect on my face just after a one-time use, but once i washed the stickiness off my face in the next morning, my face felt soft, looked brighter, healthier and was certainly pumped with hydration. It was a nice and easy treat after a tiring day. A great treat for those with dry, dull skin.

I’m not a fan of sticky after-feel, but the stickiness is not unbearable. It was fine after i washed my face the next morning, so probably best to have wiped off the excess serum instead of putting more on. However, If it’s a product that works, despite the stickiness of the serum, I would still try it again. So i would definitely give this mask another go in the future to see if there’s any long-lasting results, but in particularly, i would like to see if the brightening affect of the vitamin C will do anything to help my freckles in the long term.

I will definitely try out their other fresh tissue mask with hyaluronic acid as well.

Tips: If you don’t like wasting excess sera, you can dab the excess serum from the packet onto your face before putting on your mask. You can also dub a little onto your neck, arms, elbows and legs, but not too much, as the serum is a little sticky itself. If you’re the type that can’t bear any stickiness, then rather of thinking of not wasting the excess serum, you’ll actually be better off wiping the excess serum off your face afterwards.

If you had a spare dry sheet mask of your own, you can also try soaking it in the excess serum, and enjoy the mask together with a friend.

Refresh, tighten and glowww

As a big fan of tissue/sheet masks I was super excited to try this mask. It's super easy to use and doesn't slip off your face like other masks. The liquid comes separate to the tissue, which helps you choose how much you want to use and ensure it doesn't slip off your face. I put my mask in the fridge before using for a cooling effect. Once applied the mask feels cooling and soothing to the skin, I have sensitive skin and experienced no irritation. :) After removing the mask I don't rinse my face, I pat in any product left over to soak up all the vitamin C benefits in the mask. Straight after using the mask my skin felt more firm, plump and hydrated. As it is a soothing mask I also noticed it helped tone down the redness in my skin. I will continue to purchase this mask as Vitamin C is very beneficial for your skin and I would love to experience the long term benefits. For example, smoothing out fine lines and providing antioxidant properties to help fight off damage cause by the sun.

Tips: Put in the fridge for 10 minutes before using for enhanced cooling and soothing.

Neutral ?

I found this quite fun with the folding and squeezing, but once on I did feel the eye gaps too small, so it could not penetrate under the eyes as well as should have. It had a slight tingle when on. When I took it off, my skin felt oilyish, I rubbed it in as suggested. That night and next day my skin looked hydrated yes, but that was probably all. It did not look illuminated or anything like that. I had high hopes, but would likely not purchase.

Fresh Mix Vitamin C - A+.

I'm a regular user of tissue masks and more often than not buy them from the supermarket while I'm shopping as it's easy and convenient. Garnier's tissue masks in particular have impressed me so I was very happy to be given the opportunity to trial the Fresh-Mix Tissue Mask Vitamin C Shot.

The packaging is a fresh take on tissue masks and I did gasp with surprise when I folded then pushed the serum (which is in a separate part of the packaging) into the tissue mask section.

It felt like A LOT of serum was available to be fused into the tissue mask and I was concerned that it would end up a gloppy mess on my face. While it was certainly wet, I was able to easily unfold and apply the mask to my face - it was a perfect fit and managed to contour to areas I usually struggle with (around the nose and eyes). I expected the serum to drip onto my chest as tends to happen with super wet masks, but it didn't. Instead it seemed to infuse my face to the point that parts of the mask felt 'dry' as the fifteen minutes I wore it for went on.

After fifteen minutes I took the mask off and massaged the rest of the product into the skin, then applied a moisturiser on top (I have dry skin so tend to go all out with hydrating products) and went to sleep.

I woke up to plump, hydrated skin - as expected, as most masks I use do this. What surprised me though was that my skin tone did indeed look more even and brighter. The redness on my cheeks and nose area also appeared less so.

It's suggested that this mask variant be applied three times during one week to see optimum results and I am certainly more than happy to pick up three masks in my next supermarket trip to see what happens as one mask has already proven effective.

Would highly recommend this to anyone whose skin tone is uneven and dull and who would like to treat their skin without spending a fortune.

Tips: There's excess serum so apply it to your hands/chest/neck for an extra skin treat.

Different... but I like it

So this is a bit weird to start with. It’s very wet, a little slimy and quite fragrant smelling. I would say the eye and mouth holes are a little on the small size but I guess they needed to go for a bit of a one size fits all. But once you get over all that, you leave it on and it feels quite nice. When times up, you take it off and wipe off residue - the result is definitely much softer more supple skin. Packaging is cool too, but would be good if it was more enviro friendly.

Tips: Push through the slightly weird slimy feeling and you’ll get a great result

Garnier Fresh Mix Tissue Mask Vitamin C

I’m a face mask junkie so was super stoked to be a part of the trial team for this product!! Was a bit weary though as over the last few months my skin has been leaning on the combination/oily side of the spectrum. This mask claims to be hydrating so wasn’t sure if it would be a fit for my skin type but was keen to give it a go anyway! This is packaged differently to most sheet masks in the sense that the mask bit and serum bits are separate. In order to use the mask, you have to fold it in thirds then push the liquid upwards into the mask compartment. Once the sheet seemed to be fully soaked, I ripped open the packet and managed to manoeuvre it easily onto my face. The holes where your eyes, nose and mouth are meant to be are very generously sized so no issues with the application. I then left the mask on for 15 minutes. This is a vitamin c infused mask which claims to moisturise, brighten and even out the skins complexion. As I was waiting for the mask to do its magic, I realised the scent of it wasn’t at all bad. It’s not overpowering and even though there was so much serum infused into the mask, I couldn’t tell if there was a scent at all. Taking off the mask was super easy. It slides right off without any issues either. Initial reactions were very positive! My skin looked brighter and seemed to be a bit plumpier than normal. I did feel a cooling sensation as well. I waited a few days before writing this review as I wanted to see if it changed the appearance of my skin at all. I did notice that the day after I used this, my face did seem a bit oilier than normal and I ended up getting a couple of pimples. Now I don’t think that the mask is to blame for that - it’s just not the right type for my skins current needs! Would I buy this again? Absolutely but in a type that suits my skin. I love the concept of having the serum and sheet separate until it’s time to use it.

Tips: I ended up using the leftover product as a serum all over my face then left it on overnight. Woke up to super soft skin!!

Summer Glow

Overall great mask, real uplifting after a day in the sun. Leaves you with a glow as my partner noticed the next morning. Would also be enough for two masks if your frugal like me lol

Tips: Massage and rinse after or can leave a sheen on your skin.

Gimmicky and sticky

I received this product as part of a Trial Team. For a bit of background, I have combination skin.

This mask comes in a pouch that is separated into two compartments; one containing the serum and the other containing the dry tissue mask. Immediately before use you are supposed to fold and squeeze the pouch to release the serum into the mask compartment. It contains approximately 30ml of serum.

The mask has a slippery, gel-like texture and is supposedly made of a cellulose mesh combined with algin, which turns into a gel upon contact with water/serum. It adheres to the skin very well and smooths out nicely, leaving minimal air pockets. The mouth cutout is smaller than other masks I have tried, which I liked because it allowed my mouth area to be treated too. However, the mask was too narrow for my face and left the sides of my jaw uncovered.

I left the mask on for about 15 minutes and it was still very wet with serum. Upon removing the mask I massaged the excess into my skin but it was still very sticky and did not fully absorb. There was plenty of leftover serum in the pouch which I rubbed onto my body skin, which I normally do with sheet masks. I found it also very sticky on my body.

Overall this is a very hydrating and moisturising mask due to the high glycerin content, but this also means it leaves a sticky residue on the skin. The fit of the mask has its pros and cons for me. Compared to other sheet masks I have tried, it was nothing special as I have tried other masks that had a very similar texture without having to be pre-mixed.

I would not use this product again as I don't enjoy how it left my skin feeling.

Tips: I would recommend wiping your face with toner on a cotton pad after using this mask if you don't like having a sticky face.
