Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips Review

I first received this as a GWP from Clinique and didn't expect to love it as much as I did. The packaging is a practical bottle but the purple plastic gives it a hint of simplistic style which Clinique favours in it's packaging.

The formula itself is an oil-like liquid with little noticeable smell, which I prefer in a makeup remover. I applied a tiny bit of this to a cotton pad and found it worked really well at removing my eye makeup, even waterproof mascara without having to rub at it like some I have tried. It does leave a slight oily film on the skin, but as I always use a cleanser after this to clean my skin properly this never bothered me.

It is a little more than some makeup removers but for how well it performs and how long the product lasts, in my opinion it's worth it, especially if you have easily irritated skin or eyes.

This is the first and only makeup remover I've found that doesn't irritate my eyes. Yes, it is a bit pricey but for the non-iterated eyes it's so worth it. Takes my makeup off in one sweep ready for cleansing. Definitely does what it says it does. I used to use Elizabeth Arden all gone makeup remover however I've found this Clinique remover to be less oily? Definitely prefer the consistency of this product.

I was gifted a small size of this and was really excited to try it as I had heard really good things. This is a dual action formula and you need to shake it really well before use. It smells okay, nothing offensive or unbearable and it does an awesome job. This will take off anything, I splash a bit onto a cotton pad and hold it on my eye for a few seconds and then wipe - this takes off almost everything in one go, I just flip the pad over and give a once over to clean up any remains. But here's my gripe, this works just as well as my Maybelline Express Care (blue dual action one) and it's like triple the price for less than half the amount of product. Also, this is really, really greasy - I know to most people that's not a huge deal as yo usually rinse afterwards anyway, but it feels very uncomfortable to me, maybe because I have oily skin. So while this is a great make up remover and very heavy duty, I will not purchase when I run out because my Maybelline one is just as good for less money and more product.

This product is amazing!! It removes my eye makeup, helps loosen the glue on my fasle lashes. I am so impress by have effortlessly it is to remove my makeup. I would usually dreed the end of day just thinking about having to remove my makeup but now that I have come accross products that have made that part of my day enjoyable, I mean there are times when I can't wait to take my makeup off and knowing that I have this little gem makes night time routine a breeze. I wear alot of water-proof makeup e.g. Kat Von D liquid liner, now before hand I would still have traces of black liner the following day but since using CTTDO it's like I never had the liner on to begin with. Now if you are someone who does not like the feel of oil on your skin then you will not like this as it has an oily feel. I have sensitive eyes and this does not irritate my eyes what so ever. Highly recommend!!

Love love this product!! In the past I've had problems with eye make up removers irritating my skin or burning my eyes and this does neither! More of an oil rather than a cream, so only need a tiny amount (and lasts for ages as long as you don't spill the bottle :P ) Can leave my skin with a greasy feel which I normally hate, but I use this at night so don't mind as much. Also has next to no fragrance/taste so very appropriate for eyes and lips!

I've been using this for years and it's the best one I have ever used, and I've tried a few. It even takes off waterproof mascara in a jiffy, no dragging or rubbing. It leaves a bit of an oily film but that's easy to remove with cleanser once you've taken off your eye make up. There is little or no fragrance and I've not noticed any eye irritation at all and I do get that with some other products. The bottle is a good size, easy to open and lasts for months so very affordable. Great product.

I got a bottle of this as a gift with purchase a while ago now and I have to say its possibly the best lip/eye makeup remover I've ever tried - that's a big call to make!

I use this in conjunction with Clinique's Take the Day off balm and in my opinion its the perfect combination! I love the simple but pretty purple and silver packaging, it does the job and looks nice.

This remover doesn't have any detectable fragrance like most Clinique skincare products, which I love, especially in eye/lip products! I feel that heavily scented products aren't very good for my face, let alone sensitive areas like eyes and lips.

You only need to use a small amount of this stuff on a cotton round and its super efficient! I find mascara and eyeliner come off without having to scrub at my eyes which is great. I like to hold the wet pad to my eye for a few moments to let the product work, then sweep it off.

As others have mentioned, it does tend to leave an oily film but for an oil type remover I'd be surprised if it didn't! Also, this doesn't bother me in the slightest as I always wash my face after removing makeup anyway.

It is fairly pricey but if you have trouble removing eyelash glue, waterproof eyelashes, eyeliner or have sensitive eyes then I recommend this product!! It does everything it claims, which is amazing!

This is such a great product, really good for sensitive eye area but I really struggle with the price! Maybe if it was a bigger bottle...

This is one of the best, most useful beauty products I own. Using this I can remove all of my eye make up in minutes, and it couldn't be easier. It is scentless, and is soft on the eyes. I use a benefit mascara, which is otherwise almost impossible to get off, but using this its hard to believe how easy it is to fully take off.

I also use this to fully remove lip colour, and it does this so well. Other removers I have used leave a lingering colour, which is a major pain especially if you are wanting to put a new colour on top.

So effective, and only need the smallest amount to do the job, so one bottle lasts for so long

I'm a big Clinique fan, as their skincare seems to be perfect for me. I find their formulas tend to be gentle and non irritating on my dry, slightly combination and reactive skin.

I received a mini size of this with a gift with purchase promotion that Clinique was running. When I'm buying Clinique products I always try to time it around a gift with purchase promotion so I can try some new goodies.

The packaging is distinctively Clinique, with its lovely purple colour, silver writing, silver cap and shape. Clinique is so iconic, I have such a collection of their products now.

The formula of this is a liquid, that is like oil. I use it by popping some of the liquid on a cotton pad.

It easily removes stubborn eye makeup, eyeliner and mascara so well. Just a few gentle swipes over my eyes and it easily takes it off. That's exactly what you want in an eye makeup remover!

The formula is so gentle, no stinging eyes or tight feeling on my skin. So, this is perfect for those with sensitive skins.

As my usual cleanser doesn't do a great job of taking off stubborn eye makeup I would normally use this in conjunction with it. This product is on the pricey side, but definitely worth it in my opinion, it is very effective in removing eye makeup.
