Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser Review

This is definitely in my top 5 affordable face washes! It’s gentle but definitely still affective. Never leaves my skin feeling tight or dry. Love!

I tried this cleanser as an attempt to help my skin. I had gone through random, dry, oily, and breakout periods. The cleansers i was using made my face itchy and my skin was very unhappy. Im pretty sure this was on special and i thought id give it a go.

The first time i used it i couldn't believe it got my face so clean. It has almost no smell and is almost a creamy gel like consistency. My face felt so clean, but not at all dry. I tell everyone i know about how good it is, and even feel safe using it on my kids faces if they are extra dirty.

I recently learned I had been doing my skincare regime all wrong for the wrong type of skin. I am combination but with sensitive skin so the fact that this was 'extra gentle' was right up my alley when I saw it.

The bottle itself is boring as far as the design goes. I like that it has a pump top which makes it easier to get the right amount out each time. It makes it less messy and hassle free, which is what I am all about when it comes to skincare regimes! I love the fact that Neutrogena is scientifically researched which to me means that they know what they are doing when making this.

The cleanser itself I would liken to a lotion it's cream and has a slight smell but not overpowering. It says fragrance free but there is evidently something that can be smelled. It says to wet face and hands to make application easier which it does.

I smooth it on my face and rub in circular motions. I concentrate on the dry areas above my eyes and my chin to get that moisture in there. It doesn't do what I would like it to by removing makeup but it definitely cleanses my face.

Having sensitive skin and this being made for that skin type I thought it would be perfect. I was horrified to see that after using this day and night for a week that my skin had reacted and was red, inflamed and itchy. It says that it moisturises after each wash but it really didn't. I discontinued use after this and my skin started to heal.

For those that like a gentle wash but not overly sensitive skin this would be perfect. It cleanses like it says it does and it leaves your skin fresh and clear.

This is as the name says, a gentle cleanser. While it doesn't leave your skin feeling dry and tight, it is strong enough to clean off make-up. It doesn't irritate your skin, and is cheap for the size. So basically, its pretty good.

This is the first cleanser I have tried that hasn't irritated my skin in some way therefore I continue to repurchase as it is so affordable and a great cleanser for normal to dry skin.

I was gifted this before Christmas. I don't have a long list of supermarket items that I use but since this was given to me I thought to give it a shot and I'm impressed. This cleanser actually adds back moisture each time you wash your face. The scent is a really neutral scent like it says it's fragrance free on a closer sniff it's possible there's a neutral scent that's been added but there's no frangrance listed in the ingredients list on the back so maybe the combination of ingredients kind of smell like that. I like to use it as a morning cleanser when my face is dry or slightly oily since that's when I like to use a cream cleanser. I also like to use it in the shower since when I get out I apply my body lotion and so when I use this it's nice that my face isn't dried up before I get around to applying my moisturizer. I think this would best suit dry, sensitive and oily/combination skin but oily skin would probably benefit from this at times. I also think this would be ideal of for those just starting off on a skincare routine and maybe haven't gotten into moisturizing yet as this won't dry out your skin like some other cleansers and is reasonably priced. I'm going to gift one to my younger sister whose just getting into a skincare routine. Another plus is it's quite affordable and easy to find. The only downside to this product and why I didn't give it a higher rating is that if you're into natural skincare the ingredients in this aren't natural or organic.

I love love love this cleanser. As someone with sensitive skin I'm always very cautious as to what I use on my skin, this cleanser is one of my favourites. I was cautious at first as I don't really like using supermarket cleansers, but reading the positive reviews on this product convinced me to give it a go. Formula wise, it is a very light consistency, not a heavy cream, very very light fragrance, which I like. I combine this cleanser with a little exfoliant type pad and apply in circular motions every morning, my skin feel very cleanse afterwards, but doesnt have that tight or dry feel to it. As for removing make up, I find it to be very effective, I often cleanse twice though if I feel like my makeup wasnt properly removed. I've never had any adverse reaction to it, never makes my skin break out and I've never had in rash type reaction. I certainly think it lives up to its title and I would definitely recommend this product.

If I'm in the supermarket on the lookout for skincare or makeup remover products, my go-to brand is definitely the trusty Neutrogena. They have a wide selection of products - such as cleansers, wipes and moisturisers and are gentle for my dry, sensitive skin.

This cleanser comes packaged in a white pump bottle. The cleanser has a sleek, simple look which is distinctive of the Neutrogena brand. I love how the cleanser is in a pump bottle, as it is hygienic and handy to use.

The actual cleanser is lotion like consistency. It does not have a detectable smell, which I like in my cleansers. The simpler the better for my sensitive skin! I wet my face with warm water, put a small pump of the formula into my hand I then massage it over my face. The formula is gentle and soothing.

For a supermarket cleanser, this is an awesome product. It easily dissolves long wearing makeup, stubborn eye makeup and other makeup so well.

My skin can be dry, sensitive and reactive but this cleanser is perfect. It does not sting my eyes and leaves my skin feeling moisturised and silky soft.

Whenever I'm at the supermarket needing cleanser, this is the cleanser I will definitely reach for.

I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting an affordable, effective cleanser that really does the job.

A cleanser that does exactly what it says, is reasonable in price, removes make up and has a handy pump dispenser. Yup that sums it up nicely.

In saying that my eyeliner is still removed with a eye make up remover before hand but it removes everything else nicely. So if like me you use a gel eyeliner and a mascara that likes to stay all day you might need to remove this first.

It was great on sensitive little pores and was nice on my skin after and doesn't over power with a strong scent which is amazing.

The packaging is super handy (I am all about the pump people!) especially if you are in the shower and already rinsed your face.... water everywhere quick pump and off you go! Just me? no?

My only down is that I am more after natural products and local brands so I that's why I have said I am not sooo keen to use it again. If I had to buy a supermarket brand or needed something quickly you can bet it would be this and it was my friend before I went all natural.
