Bio Oil

I first bought this product years ago, after all the hype surrounding it as "the name" behind stretch mark fading and repair. I persisted using it over a year and to be honest, asides from being a very gently scented moisturising body oil, it did nothing for fading my stretch marks and/or scarring on my skin. Disappointing results all in all, and for that price, I'd rather use a fragrance based body lotion/cream. Now, I gotta start loving those stretch marks!

i bought this when i started going through puberty because i was starting to get stretch mark on my boobs! arrrggghhh so i thought with all the advertising etc it must be a good product, this was a few years ago now but i hated it to say the least it was so oily and just went everywhere i felt sticky afterwards and to say it wasn't cheap it didn't help me 1 bit, i would of probably just used a moisturiser. being pregnant now im using the palmers cocoa stretch marks and i love it compared to bio oil it was very dissapointing

I have heard bio oil was good for acne scars and stretch marks from friends and family so I thought I would give it a go for my acne scares. Omg... It burned my face and gave me little bumps. I had a really bad reaction I was horrified!. Sadly it did not worked for me and I gave the bottle to my family.

Im 32 weeks pregnant and have found when it comes to the itchness and dryness of your belly whlist pregnant, the results you get from this product are an itchier more irritated belly and i found it dried my skin out.

I am a plus size girl, and from many health reasons my size isn't small, and as a result I got strech marks ALL OVER. When I first herd about Bio-Oil I was like, hmmm I am not entirely sure if this will work. Then I trailed it out for about a month. I don't know how but my strech marks are worse! I haven't gained any weight but they have mutiplied, and since using Bio-Oil it has caused a huge irriation on my body rashes every where! I am horrified. It sounds great in theory, but it is in the bin now!

I like so many others tried Bio oil when I was pregnant. I found it stung, and left a very greasy residue.. having paid a lot for a big bottle, I put it in the draw until my son was 5 months old and tried it again. It dried my skin out like crazy, and generally did the opposite of anything you'd want in a moisturizing product. I kept using it for 2 weeks to give it any opportunity to work, and in the end my skin was a dried out flaking mess. I switched from bio oil to plain old olive oil out of the pantry and found it amazing in comparison.. I can only assume that the chemical mineral oil base in Bio oil is what caused the issues. Disappointed in the results, and also the marketing - its advertised to give the impression of a natural gentle product, which it isn't.

If I could give it less than 1/5 I would.

I used bio oil for years after being sucked in by it's reputation and all of the good publicity it gets, gave it a really good go and I can't say one single good thing about it. I used bio oil specifically to reduce the appearance of a couple of small stretch marks that appeared on my hips due to general growing and changing of my body in my teens. Also used it on my face to see if it would reduce the appearance of pores, tried it on scars, also as a general all over body moisturiser. I have spent hundreds of dollars purchasing and repurchasing bio oil over the years and it's been a complete waste of time and money. Not only does bio oil not deliver what it promises but also it's not all that plesant to use. The consistency and smell of bio oil to me is a lot like cooking oil and it feels quite greasy on the skin. I cannot understand all of the hype around this product, but i guess it must work for some people? The only reason i continued to purchase bio oil is because when i was younger i would irrationally obsess over my imperfections and i would desperately try anything and everything in an attempt to diminish them. Of course now that i'm older and wiser i realize that having a stretch mark is actually not in fact the end of the world.. Don't waste your money on bio oil.

I started using bio oil on some scars and to be honest i dont think it did anything. My skin felt oily even when i rubbed it in well. It is over priced also for what you get.

after reading about this and seeing pictures of before and afters in magazines i gave this a ago and its horrible!!!

it goes everywhere and broke me out in the biggest rash which was super itchy!! does nothing it claims to, and its pretty pricey compared to other similar on the market. after researching some of the ingredients arent that great either which i wasnt impressed at

I used this while I was pregnant and I was so disappointing to say it was awful. The oil was runny and went everywhere. The smell was really off putting and I broke out in a massive rash all over my belly which itched like crazy for days and days. Unfortunately I brought two bottles and it was a complete waste of my money. I can't even give them away.
