Honey Babe Shampoo & Wash Review

Now this I absolutely LOVED! The smell of this product is just beautiful - it has a rich honey scent that lingers on the skin after washing it off. It comes in a 140ml white plastic bottle with a pump action top to decanter it (it is lockable with a twist so great for travelling). Consistency wise its the same as a hand wash or body wash. It lathers slightly during washing and when rinsing it off my daughters hair it went over her face and eyes with no fuss from her. 1 pump is adequate for her little body and I use 2 if im washing her hair too. After drying her hair it smelt yummy and it looked nice and clean. So overall I would definitely buy and use this product again. And same as the Calming Massage Oil in this range its boasts all the same major selling points (NZ made, 100% natural, no animal testing & recyclable) and I think pricing is fair for this product considering you dont need much it will go for a while.

This body wash / shampoo is a light, slightly liquidy consistency which turns to a creamy foam when massaged into the skin or hair. You don't need a lot, a small half pump is all I need for my little ones hair and I use the left over as body wash and pump a tiny bit more if needed. I love the scent of this product, it's slightly sweet without being over powering and it lasts in my babe's hair for a good period of time. I really like that this product has manuka honey in its ingredients list as its well known for its antibacterial properties. My baby also has more hair than the norm and this leaves it feeling soft and silky without the need for conditioner. It also leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated, which I really like as I don't feel that I need to moisturise my hands after using it or baby's body. I have found some other brands can be quite drying, which this is not. In terms of price, there are cheaper alternatives available, however they are not as good as this and at $12 a bottle I don't think this is too high a price point at all. Will definitely be repurchasing this, its all I've used in the last couple of weeks. Really great product!

This Shampoo and wash is so practical. I love that it can be used for both, meaning its super gentle to be used not only as a wash but also a shampoo.

The scent of this product is divine - Manuka honey oil, aloe vera and calendula ingredients mean that this product has a lovely natural/fresh scent - a slight sweet scent but nothing overpowering at all.

This Shampoo and Wash is so gentle on my babys skin, and she comes out of the bath with her skin feeling so nourished and hydrated (and she smells super yummy!). This product has not irritated her skin at all. A little goes a long way, the product lathers up really nicely.

Her hair once dried is well cleaned also, with some shine and just generally looks healthy.

Will definitely repurchase, as the price is great for such a versatile and natural product.

I found this product gentle and lovely on my newborns skin. It lathered nicely and the scent was subtle but beautiful, the smell still lingered subtly on my bubs skin. She has quite sensitive skin and I feel that this product didn’t irritate her skin.

Really enjoy using this on my one year old daughter, it is a creamy consistency, Makes my one year old daughters hair extra silky snooth and calming fragrances help to relax her even further.

Great size. Again could be bigger but is fine for the house bath caddy.

I'm a bit suspicious about 2-in-1 washes - hair and skin are so different, I find they're usually drying on one area or another, so I will admit, I did approach this with caution.

My baby has a fine head of hair and a bit of cradle cap. As a shampoo this lathered very lightly, which is great, babies and foamy shampoos do not mix! The scent was much stronger compared to the other products in the range.

My son's hair was left nice and soft and I did find the cradle cap had lifted slightly after just the first wash.

As a body wash this was lovely to use and didn't dry out the wee fella's skin at all.

The only reason I'm not giving this full marks is the scent was just a bit too much for my liking. Otherwise, product size, price point and performance are winning!

I was selected to take part in the trial team for this product. I was actually really excited when these products arrived as I am a fan of Wild ferns range!

This product didn't come in a box like the other three that I have trialed. The bottle itse'f is a white pump bottle and a label with this beautiful yellow to golden orange ombre with manuka flowers over it, and the most adorable picture of a baby asleep on a manuka flower - even the inside of the box is yellow with white manuka flowers all over it. The 'Honey Baby' and the picture of the baby are embossed and there is a gold trim on the bottom. To me this product design looks like a high quality product.

The lid is a pump bottle which can be turned left to lock or right to pump.There was also a clip that went around the neck of the pump to stop oit from accidentally being pushed in transit (which is also a good idea for travel!). The pump is easy to use and puts out about a good sized 10c piece amount. I found two pumps was more than enough to wash my child's body and another half a pump was enough for his hair.

The shampoo and wash has a pleasant aroma and I found it actually quite gentle on my (eczema prone) hands. I also got brave and tried it on my face before I tried it on our son and my skin felt amazing after! The texture was what would expect from a liquid soap - I found it very similar in texture to the QV body wash we have been using on our child. We used this every night in his shower. I found that it didn't foam up very much as a body wash when used by hand, but when you used a loofah it was very bubbly - using a loofah also meant that my son could wash himself with it too.

As a shampoo it foamed well with the addition of hair and it left our childs hair looking nice. He is prone to cradle cap and eczema on his face and didn't have any reaction to this body wash.

I would highly recommend this product, it would be a fantastic gift for a friend with a newborn. We will be repurchasing, that's for sure!

The baby body wash and shampoo is so gentle and smells soooo nice! It leaves my baby's skin soft and smooth without stripping away too much natural oils. I like how it comes with a pump.

Wow finally I have come across not only a beautiful natural baby product but one that has the scents that will instantly take you back to having cradled that little bundle of joy again (because all baby products should smell like it reminds you of a baby) it soaped and bubbled like you would expect a soap and body wash would. The product not only smells great it cleans really well leaving the skin soft and smooth without drying it out. My son's hair was left shiny with extra bounce and made it detangle free and easy to style. We experienced zero issues with skin irritations and rashes and my son loved it so much the challenge was to stop him trying to eat it! This product is well worth having stocked up in your cupboards and is my new go to. The ease of shampoo and wash in one means I am not trying to use different bottles and its a lather up and rinse down from head to toe making shower time much easier and faster.

I have really enjoyed using this shampoo and wash during bathtimes with my baby. The product is a really nice consistency and is a cloudy white appearance, you can see it when you've squirted it out which is handy. The fragrance is lovely and lingers a bit, her hair smells really good afterwards and I end up sniffing her more than I did before I started using this! The lather is just the right amount for a baby wash in my opinion. It lathers up easily but doesn't go too crazy. It washes off easily as well and the packaging claims 'no tears' which I agree with because when I wash her hair out I haven't been particularly careful to keep the runoff away from her eyes and she's never been upset when it's run down her face. The packaging has a great pump dispenser which I prefer for this kind of product. You can, with one hand, squirt the exact right amount of product exactly where you want it. I've been using this for two weeks now and haven't even really made a dent in the amount of product in the bottle so I think it's going to last a while. It got her looking and smelling fresh and clean each time so is a great little wash. I love that this product has Manuka honey in it. Manuka honey has amazing properties and is fantastic for our skin. This wash is made in New Zealand which is a huge drawcard for me. I prefer to buy NZ made skin care by far. The product is 100% natural too, it's something I look for in my own skincare but is especially important in skin care for my baby. This wash is lovely, does what it says and is a good price, definitely something I would repurchase!
